No Matter What

Scott's PoV
I sighed, pulling on a tank top before walking into the living room. Dyl had recently moved in with me, so I had to be careful to hide my scars. The ones on my arm I wasn't concerned about, since they're from a close call with the animatronics. Saved by the bell. Literally. But the ones that littered my torso and part of my thighs. Yeah, I'm not proud that I'd sank that low, but it's in the past now, and I can't change it.
Dylin was sprawled on the couch, eyes half-lidded as he rested his head against the back of the couch. I walked over, curling up next to him. He wrapped an arm around me, kissing my temple.
"Hey, Babe," he murmured as I snuggled my head into the crook of his neck.
"Hey, Hon," I replied.
"Ready for a day of snuggling?" I smiled, pressing my lips to his.
"You know it."

I was getting ready for bed, changing into a simple tee and jeans because that's actually comfortable. I should've known that keeping the door open was a bad idea. 20/20 hindsight, right? Anyways, Dyl walked by as I was in the middle of changing my shirt. Back to the door, I didn't know until he came over and gently turned me around to face him. His hands wrapped around my wrists, holding me in place. I let go of the hem of the shirt, feeling it flutter around my waist. Crimson eyes snapped up to meet mine, and just the raw emotion swirling in the irises made me flinch. The sternness in his next words practically made me stumble backwards.
"Shirt off." Eyes never leaving his, I tugged the shirt over my head. His hands glided over my skin, eyes watching what he was doing. I turned my head away, green eyes tracing the wrinkles in the bedsheets.
"Scott." His voice snapped me out of my trance, and I looked back at him.
"They're old, I swear!" I blurted, still feeling bad. His gaze softened as he watched me. My vision blurred, and he pulled me close, stroking my hair.
"It's okay. Sorry I was harsh. I was just concerned. I don't want to lose you." I looked at him through my tears and saw that he was crying, too. "I've lost everything else in my life. I can't lose you, too," he muttered. I hugged him tightly.
"You won't."
