The group trudged to the shed, side by side.
"This is a bad idea." Jazz whispered to Grey.
Grey looked down at the girl by his side, he could sense her fear and his eyes softened, "I won't let anything happen to you. I promise."
"Uhm Chapel is the other way if y'all want to take your vows." Chloe teased.
They laughed and brought their attention back to Aubrey and Allen trying to get the shed door open.
"It's tricky. Allow me." Chloe volunteered.
In seconds, the door to the creepy shed flew open and they all walked into the ominous cloud of dust. Allen and Aubrey had torches that easily illuminated the dusty cobwebbed cubicle.
"Spider!" Jazz shrieked.
"What the hell?" Allen's mouth dropped open as he gaped at her. "It's literally a spider, you can step on it." He added, demonstrating by stomping his foot on the insect.
"Jesus Christ, Jazz!" Aubrey gasped.
"Sorry." Jazz squeaked, "I mean it's totally my fault I have arachnid phobia or whatever it is called."
She felt embarrassed. She just made a fool of herself in front of Grey Anderson. Would he still be interested in her after tonight?
"I feel like you're not taking this serious, you weren't there in the Refectory that night, I almost died Jazz. Purple's next victim might not be so lucky." Aubrey said.
"Give her a break Aubs." Allen interfered.
"She's sleep deprived and scared of spiders, we'll stay outside as look out." Grey said to Allen and Aubrey.
"I don't do well with nature either." Jazz murmured under her breath, recalling the length of those weeds in the unkempt lawn.
Chloe on the other hand had gone down to business inspecting the vending machine with the torch Allen had handed her when Jazz screamed.
"They'll be no need for that." Chloe called out, toying with two black wires.
Questioning glances landed in her direction.
"The vending machine has been wiped clean." She added.
"I don't understand Chloe, you said you didn't find anything." Allen reminded her, confused to say the least.
"I lied."
Jazz could feel her eyes bulging behind her glasses, "Say what now?!"
"You've gotta be kidding me."
Jazz and Grey exchanged knowing looks.
"If what Jazz told me the other night is true we might be looking at a larger picture, I don't want to be talking stories but I think–"
"My mom might know something?" Grey interjected, finishing her statement.
Jazz and Chloe nodded simultaneously.
Aubrey was awfully quiet.
"Head Mistress May? What did I miss?"
"Valentine's day." Grey stated.
"We would leave you boys to catch up. Aubrey, Jazz, we have girl talk."
"No one's leaving this room. Chloe start talking." Allen wasn't having it, "I knew you were hiding something but I don't get why you would lie to us. Like why? It makes no sense."
"Because Allen..." Chloe trailed, releasing a shaky breath, "I think I know who purple is."
Heartbeats.
That's all that could be heard.
"Aubrey, Jazz, we should talk privately." Chloe said into the silence.
Before Allen could protest, Aubrey touched his arm in silent plea, "It's okay..."
Allen pulled his girl against him, hugging her briefly and planting a kiss on her lips affectionately.
Jazz bit on her lower lip and looked away.
Would Grey kiss her soon?

The three girls walked into an empty dormitory.
"It's past midnight, where is Bonnie?" Aubrey asked, looking around cautiously immediately the lights came on.
Jazz on the other hand casually flung herself unto Chloe's bed, looking at the perfectly arranged bed with a certain longing. She desperately wanted to return to sleep.
Looking up just in time from Chloe's bed, Jazz caught one of her bangles rolling across the room and under Bonnie's bed frame.
"I see Bonnie's still crazy about glitter. The flowers look nice though." Aubrey commented at the vase of glitter tulips.
Totally uninterested in whatever business Chloe wanted to discuss, Jazz went over and crouched low to get her bangle out from under Bonnie's bed frame.
"Jazz what are you doing?" Aubrey whispered.
"Why are you whispering?"
"Chloe has something to say about Purple." Aubrey reminded her.
"Purple can't attack anyone within the next ten seconds, can they? I'm trying to get my bangle Aub– wait! I think I feel something..."
Chloe chuckled, "It's like a rat hole under there, Bonnie is crazy."
Jazz stood to her full height with two items in her palm.
Jazz Brown could feel her jaw sweeping the floor as she stared at her hand. "This is Felicity's lavender scented candle. She said it was missing yesterday morning."
"It's a shade of purple..." Chloe sighed, staggering backwards with a look of horror on her face.
"Is this want you wanted to tell us?" Aubrey asked.
Jazz on the other hand was looking amused at all of this, "Here comes the confession."
Chloe pressed into her mattress when she sat on it, a sorry look etched on her face, "While you and Jazz were away, Allen divided the responsibilities in the investigation and I was to search the shed. Do you know what I found?"
"We will when you tell us." Jazz supplied, resting against Bonnie's bedside drawer.
"I found glitter. Glitter on the wires where it had been snapped into halves. All three of us know there's only one person in Bubble Academy obsessed with glitter enough to leave it's trails on anything they touch." Chloe explained to the girls.
"Bonnie." Jazz conceded, "Now that I think about it, the day I returned to school my dorm room was bathed in glitter and there was this broken glitter makeup palette resting on my mattress alongside a creepy welcome note saying something about eyes telling lies and–"
"Wait did you just say a broken glitter case?" Chloe asked, the situation was getting real.
Jazz nodded.
Aubrey shook her head vigorously, "Bonnie doesn't have the wits. It is not possible. She wouldn't do that to me, right?"
Chloe gulped, "I– I don't know, Aubs... But now that I think about it, how Bonnie was the only one asides me and Grey who knew Allen had plans of interrogating Luthor the same night someone tried to finish Allen off with poison gas."
"WHAT?!" Jazz and Aubrey chorused.
For Aubrey Simon, this was beginning to become too much to process all at once, "I don't understand, he never told me."
"Then you didn't hear it from me either and I really wish I could vouch for Bonnie right now but it's all shady at the moment. And she also knew exactly what Luthor was doing in the computer room the night he passed out..."
"I know the voice I heard that night, it wasn't her, it can't be. Bonnie is my friend..." Aubrey trailed.
"There was glitter on the broken wires. I saw it!" Chloe insisted.
Aubrey dejectedly sank to her knees, "Maybe there actually was glitter Chlo, don't you think someone might be trying to frame her to divide us? She's our friend. My friend!" Aubrey teared up.
"And she is my twin Aubrey! But if she's indeed Purple, she's crossed the line and theft? What the hell? I couldn't bring myself to tell Allen and Grey because I was scared what Allen might do to her..." Chloe replied, a tear escaping her eyes as well.
Jazz just stared between the two girls lost in thought, "Even if she is not purple then where is she? Can you explain that?"
The door creaked open just then and the devil walked in.
Bonnie Black.
Her Auburn curls were disheveled and her cheeks looked flushed. The three other girls in the room didn't need to be told what she might have been up to.
"I hate to break it to you guys but Purple is a color and I am human."
Silence that was boarder line awkward lingered in the dorm room. Bonnie had overheard them accusing her of being a thief and a possible maniac killer.
"You can give the candle back to that chubby weasel you call a roommate, journalist girl. Diezel is back on track." Bonnie said, backing them as she peeled layers of clothing from her ashen body.
"You're stealing things now?" Aubrey finally found her voice.
"Anyone with an eye can see that Aubrey and Chloe have gone soft. Like c'mon we used to trash these kids for fun now y'all have morphed into something I don't understand. I can pull tricks on my own too you know, I don't need any of you."
"Bonnie, I almost died!" Aubrey blurted out with glossy eyes.
Bonnie turned now and glared at Aubrey in a way she had never, "And then you didn't."
Jazz gaped in surprise.
What ever happened to the half wit twin, Bonnie Black?
"I won't be anyone's pushover or errand girl anymore and I didn't try to electrocute my best friend to death because of a stupid bracelet I can purchase a ton of anytime. Good luck with your investigation but it wasn't me. I have better things to do at night than try to kill people for jewelry."

A/N: "purple is a color and I am human?" Literal mic drop. I don't think Bonnie did it, she can't be purple right? I mean that would be crazy. Who are you guys placing your bets on? Hehe see you in the next chapter.
