Night Time: Hour iv. pt. iii. - Bonding Hour

Delirious had not seen this coming.

The fact that the craziest murderer in the whole Purge, was walking alongside them; acting as if this were a casual walk in the park. Feeling uncomfortable and unsure about his decision, Delirious continuously brushed his fingers against the handle of his knife -- just for safety measures. Carlos was just as jumpy as he was by getting startled easily whenever Vanoss started talking. The only difference was that Carlos was eyeing his hand gun, and not a hand held weapon such as the knife Delirious was carrying around.

"Now, tell me about you." Vanoss said once finishing up his mini autobiography -- which was very very broad. It's not like he just shared his whole childhood story or the story of how he broke. It was more of a teaser, which, sadly, didn't allow Delirious to take a glimpse of the whole thing.

"Why? You basically told me nothing." Delirious said in annoyance.

"If I didn't tell you anything, then I would have kept my mouth shut. Now as I said before, it's your turn." It was obvious at this point that Vanoss was trying very hard to keep his anger to a minimum.

"Well my name is Delirious, I'm old enough to go out on my own in the middle of the night without feeling scared and I have a sister. The end." Delirious told him in a sarcastic manner.

"Ugh, well you're no fun." Vanoss rolled his eyes and looked over at Carlos. "Hey mustache guy, what about you?"

"Wh-What about me?" Carlos asked nervously.

"Tell me something interesting. The clown over there won't tell me shit."

"I-I'm telling you nothing." Carlos frowned as he picked up his pace.

"You too? Introverts. . ." Vanoss murmured.

"Well then why don't you give us the details about your life?" Delirious asked angrily, "Wouldn't that make us even?"

"I'm predicting that you two aren't really that fast when it comes to running so I want to know more about who's corpse I'll be dealing with." Vanoss grinned.

"Well aren't you charming." Delirious murmured uneasily.

"I know I am, the ladies tell me the same thing." Vanoss said as he played along.

'Yeah, but what they don't know is that you're bat-shit insane.'
Delirious didn't know why Vanoss's comment made him feel even worse. His mind was clogged with so many unnecessary questions that it nearly made him feel dizzy. 'Do you have a girlfriend?' or 'Are you a player?' were among many of them, and it confused him. A lot.

"Wait a minute, your name is Delirious, right?" Vanoss asked.

"Yeah. . . Why?"

"Doesn't Delirious mean 'crazy' or something?" He looked at him from top to bottom, "You don't look crazy to me -- well, I guess the clown face-paint is an exception."

Delirious tried his absolute hardest not to chuckle at this, "Delirious was just one of my nicknames; not a mean one but it was one that just, y'know, stuck."

"What are you delirious for? Me, I bet." Vanoss mocked as he elbowed him .

Delirious looked away and Carlos laughed, "Ha, you wish."

"Well how do you know that? What if he is?" Vanoss asked, not dropping the playful act.

"What Carlos said. . ." Delirious said, his tone coming out more sheepish than normal.

"Oh come on, the mexican really won't have to speak for you now, or will he?" Vanoss looked at Delirious.

"No, I just ran out of words then." Delirious said, regaining confidence and finally meeting Vanoss's eye.

"Wow, well that doesn't give me any hope for the future." Vanoss played with the knife in his hand, which put Delirious on full-alert.

"W-Why is that?" Delirious stuttered as he tried not to eye at Vanoss's weapon.

"Because instead of hearing your answers, I'm going to have to listen to the mexican. I'm not saying that he's bad, but I'd rather listen to you instead." Vanoss said, suddenly stopping his hand movements when hearing the panic in Delirious's voice.

"And what difference does that make?" Delirious asked. "The answers would be the same."

"Yeah, but the people and voices would be different."

Delirious looked at Vanoss, and the Asian raised an eyebrow at him, "Or are you also a shy Mexican?"

"No. . ." Delirious looked away after a moment of silence, "I'm not. . ."

"Exactly." Vanoss finished, his tone coming out a lot softer than usual.

Delirious watched him walk away, obviously he didn't stay still for too long since he had to catch up, but he found it hard to understand what Vanoss had been trying to tell him. All he knew was that Vanoss obviously preferred him over Carlos, but why? They were all acquaintances here and Vanoss barely even knew Delirious. Carlos noticed Delirious's confusion and he slowed down in order to talk to him, "You ok?"

'I hate that question. . .' Delirious thought.
"Yeah, I'm okay."

Carlos frowned, "You don't look okay. . ."

"That's what everybody says, but don't worry, I am. It's just the idea of walking through the sewers again that throws me off." Delirious explained, shrugging off his true emotions.

"I understand. . . But why?"

"Because chances are we're going to walk in it 'til the sun comes up. . ." Delirious sighed.

Carlos chuckled, "Si, I can see why now. I just figured you'd get used to it."

Vanoss slowed his pace down as he came to an abrupt stop. Delirious raised an eyebrow at him. "What now?"

"Shh. . ." Vanoss whispered as he took out his gun.

Feeling his instincts come in again, Delirious took out two things; his hand gun which he held with his good hand, and a knife which he held in the opposite hand. Vanoss turned around immediately and shot his gun out of the blue, making Delirious curse in surprise, until he heard the grunt of a stranger. Carlos gasped, "H-How did you. . . ?"

"Hear him?" Vanoss put his gun away, "I heard extra footsteps, and I don't think anyone else here has an extra set of legs."

Delirious turned around and slowly approached the fallen individual. He was shakily and his face paled slightly at the sight of Delirious approaching him. For a moment, Delirious was confused as to why he was scared, until he looked down at his hands and realized that he was still holding his weapons. He only put his gun away as he kneeled down and looked at the guy.

He wasn't exactly wearing mask or anything, but his short brown hair, brown beard and dark eyes made Delirious's eyes widen, "Wait. . ."

"Oh, is he not dead?" Vanoss approached the body as he retook out his gun, "I can have that fixed."

"No no wait!" Delirious yelled desperately.

Vanoss raised an eyebrow at him, "Got close to him already? Such a shame, I still have to put him down though."

"Luke, Luke! Are you okay?" Delirious said, completely ignoring Vanoss.

"Wait, you actually know this guy?" Vanoss asked in disbelief.

Delirious nodded as he inspected Luke's bullet wound, which, luckily, was only on his shoulder. "Y-Yeah, I do. He was an old friend of mine."

"Oh well isn't that just cheesy," Vanoss rolled his eyes, "So you're telling me that you want to spare him just because he was an old friend? Give me a break. Haven't your parents ever told you that friendship doesn't last forever?"

Delirious glared at him, "I'm not going to let him die! Not in front of me I won't."

Vanoss bristled at this, "Fine! While you stick around wasting your time, I'm just going to leave and get on with my life." Once he turned around, Delirious brought his attention back to his wounded friend.

"Mustache guy, I suggest you join me if you want to get out of here sooner." Vanoss growled.

Carlos immediately shook his head; as if the idea of sticking with the murderer was a bad one -- which it indeed was. Vanoss glared at him, but he shook his head and walked off. Carlos looked over Delirious's shoulder, "Is he. . . Ok?"

Delirious nodded, "Yeah he's alive, I just don't have anything to heal him with."

"I don't think you'll be able to do anything without disinfecting the wound." After these words were spoken, Delirious felt a plastic object hit the side of his head.

"What the hell-" He took back his words when seeing a pissed of Vanoss. "Well, look who's back after, what, ten seconds?"

"Piss me off again and I'm leaving."

Delirious chuckled and he started to open the bottle, "Hey. . . Thanks."

"I had no choice." Vanoss grumbled to himself.

Delirious was quiet for a moment, ". . . Jonathan." He said quietly, making sure that Carlos didn't hear.

"Hm?" Vanoss looked at him.

". . . That's my name." Delirious repeated himself, "Jonathan."

"Well thanks for finally introducing yourself. . ."

"No problem." Jonathan paused.

"Friend."
