Ch. 25 Hogwarts Acceptance Letters
The soft, golden light of dawn filtered through the curtains of Tulip's bedroom at Fudge Manor, illuminating the cozy space filled with memories of her recent birthday celebrations. As she stirred awake, a series of hoots drew her attention. Curiosity piqued, she opened her eyes to see an owl perched on the window ledge, its feathers fluffed and eyes bright.
Tulip's heart raced with excitement. "It's here!" she whispered, remembering that today was the day her acceptance letter to Hogwarts finally arrived.
She slipped out of bed gently. Tulip padded over to the window and swung it open, letting in a cool breeze that ruffled her hair. The owl, a beautiful barn owl with speckled feathers, hooted again, its eyes watching her intently.
"Thank you!" she said, reaching out to take the envelopes attached to its leg. She gently stroked the owl's head as she unhooked the letters, feeling a rush of gratitude. The owl responded with a soft coo before spreading its wings and soaring into the morning sky.
Tulip's excitement bubbled over as she turned to her room and examined the envelopes in her hands. Each envelope was addressed neatly in emerald ink, and the Hogwarts crest was stamped on the back.
The first envelope bore her name, Tulip Potter, and a thrill ran through her as she traced the elegant lettering. The second envelope bore Sebastian's name, and the third was for Ominis. The reality of what these letters meant began to sink in: today was the day they were officially accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
With eager hands, Tulip carefully peeled open her envelope, the wax seal popping with a satisfying crack. She pulled out the letter, her heart pounding in rhythm with her excitement as she unfolded it.
Dear Ms. Potter,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I have attached a list of required books and equipment. The term begins on September 1st. We await your owl by July 31st.
Yours sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Deputy Headmistress
Tulip read the letter twice, her smile growing wider with each line. She could hardly believe it—she was going to Hogwarts! It felt like a dream come true.
Her hands tightly grasped Sebastian and Ominis' letters. Excited, she put on her slippers and ran out of her bedroom. She stood outside and knocked on the door. She didn't hear a response, so she opened the door.
"Sebastian! Ominis!" she whispered urgently, feeling the thrill of sharing the news with them. She hurried into their bedroom and gently shook Sebastian's shoulder, her eyes sparkling excitedly.
Sebastian groaned softly, turning over. "What is it, Tulip?"
"It's here! Our Hogwarts letters!" she exclaimed, holding up the envelope.
Sebastian's eyes flew open, instantly awake. "What? Let me see!" He sat up, his expression shifting from sleepiness to excitement as Tulip handed him his letter.
Ominis stirred on his bed nearby, opening his eyes as he joined the conversation. "What's all the commotion about?" he asked.
"Tulip got our Hogwarts letters!" Sebastian announced, his voice bursting with enthusiasm. He quickly opened his envelope, and the excitement in the room was noticeable as Tulip gave an envelope to Ominis, who took it.
As they (Tulip and Sebastian) read their acceptance letters with Ominis listening, the reality of the next chapter in their lives began to dawn on them. They would soon be part of the magical world they had only dreamed about, embarking on adventures filled with friendship, learning, and discovery.
"Can't believe we will experience our first year twice," Sebastian stated.
"We didn't fully experience it the first time, Sebastian," Ominis declared.
"Oh. You're right," Sebastian nodded.
"Can you believe it?" Tulip said, bouncing on her toes. "We're going to be Hogwarts students!"
Sebastian and Ominis smiled at Tulip.
The three friends sat together on Ominis' bed, surrounded by the morning light, each of them lost in their thoughts about the adventures that awaited them at Hogwarts. The excitement of a new beginning filled the air, promising a year of magic and unforgettable experiences.
Tulip led the way downstairs, her excitement barely contained as she held her acceptance letter tightly. Behind her, Ominis held onto Sebastian's arm, relying on him for guidance as they navigated the hallways of Fudge Manor. The three had grown close since the two Wizards appeared in Tulip's timeline. Now, they would soon start at Hogwarts together.
As they entered the dining room, the rich smell of freshly baked bread and eggs greeted them, and they found the Fudge family already seated. Cornelius Fudge looked up from his coffee with a broad smile, his eyes twinkling with pride as he saw the trio approach.
"Well, well!" Cornelius exclaimed, his voice carrying both pride and an undercurrent of concern. "The day has finally arrived! Congratulations, all three of you."
Abigail, seated beside him with a soft smile, motioned them over. "Come, sit, have some breakfast. We'll need our energy today."
Beaming with pride, Tulip took her seat, and the others followed suit. Young Rufus, her younger adopted brother and cousin, sat across from her, looking slightly crestfallen.
"Don't be bummed, Rufus," she said gently, noticing his expression. "You'll get your letter next year and join us as a first year when we are second years."
Rufus managed a small smile, though it was clear he'd been looking forward to joining them this year. "I know. But it's still a whole year to wait," he muttered, poking at his toast.
Cornelius gave his adopted son and biological nephew a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Trust me, Rufus, your time will come. And you'll be just as excited when it does."
Abigail reached across to give Rufus a comforting smile before looking back at the trio. "So, Tulip, Sebastian, Ominis... Any plans for today?"
Tulip glanced at her friends, barely able to contain her enthusiasm. "We're planning to go to Diagon Alley to pick up our school supplies!" she said. "Can we go today?"
Abigail chuckled. "Of course, dear. We'll head there after breakfast. I'll help you and the boys find everything you need."
Sebastian turned to Ominis and gently squeezed his shoulder, filling him in on what everyone was discussing as they enjoyed their breakfast. Ominis listened closely, nodding as he kept his usual calm demeanor, though a hint of excitement played across his face.
Cornelius leaned back in his chair, studying Tulip as she talked. She had grown up in the protective embrace of Fudge Manor, yet he knew that the wider Wizarding World awaited her now. He was both proud and deeply concerned. As Minister of Magic, he was more aware than anyone of the dangers his adopted daughter might face.
Tulip... the Wizarding Savior, he thought, the title still a weight on his heart. She's not just my daughter; she's a symbol for many in our world.
He glanced out the window for a moment, his mind drifting back to the night Lord Voldermort had killed Lily Potter and James had been left in a coma, lying unresponsive in a Muggle hospital to this day. And then there was Harry... Where could he be? Cornelius wondered. And will he come to Hogwarts?
Cornelius's thoughts were interrupted by the excited chatter around the table, pulling him back to the present. He cleared his throat, and everyone turned to look at him.
"Tulip, Sweetheart. Boys. Forgive me, but I cannot accompany you to Diagon Alley. I have Ministry of Magic business to attend to," He informed.
'I'll be accompanying the Magical Education Board Members to Hogwarts later today,' he internally says. 'I want to ensure everything is prepared for yours and hopefully Harry's arrival.'
"Abigail will still accompany you to Diagon Alley," He turns to his wife.
Abigail nodded.
"That's okay, Dad. I'll tell you about my time at Diagon Alley when you get home," Tulip smiled.
Cornelius' gaze softened, and he nodded.
"I can't wait to start learning magic properly." Tulip looks at her friends.
Sebastian and Ominis nodded in agreement, sharing Tulip's enthusiasm. Ominis, in particular, looked thoughtful. "We'll be ready for anything," he said, quiet but determined.
Cornelius smiled though his thoughts were still clouded with concern. He watched them, knowing that their world was about to change forever. He hoped that somewhere, Harry Potter would find his way back to the Wizarding World, too.
