Ch. 12 Becoming the Wizarding World Savior

On the evening of Sunday, November 1, 1981, Albus Dumbledore announced to the whole Britain Wizarding World via the Wizarding Wireless Network that one-year-old Tulip Potter defeated Lord Voldemort. Thus at that moment, she became the Wizarding Savior and the Girl-Who-Lived in the eyes of the public.

Many asked where their Savior was residing, but Albus Dumbledore assured them that baby Tulip was getting raised in a safe environment. He didn't want to risk telling anyone where she was because Lord Voldemort's Death Eaters were out and about.

After Albus Dumbledore's announcement, Minister Milicent Bagnold told the whole Britain Wizarding World that Sirius Black was an innocent Wizard and that a Wizard named Peter Pettigrew was the original Secret Keeper of James and Lily Potter. However, said Wizard's whereabouts were unknown.

She also announced to the public that Lucius Malfoy was an innocent Wizard that got forced to become Lord Voldemort's Death Eater. Thus, the twenty-seven-year-old Wizard's reputation remains intact, and he can go home to his wife and child peacefully.

Sirius left the Ministry of Magic with Cornelius, Abigail, Nestor, and baby Tulip to Fudge's Manor. He didn't want to go to Black Manor alone with his insane cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, out and about now that she knew he was an innocent man, so Cornelius and Abigail let him stay for the night.

Nestor watched Abigail take baby Tulip up the stairs where baby Rufus rested. He looked away and turned his gaze to Cornelius, who poured some Fire Whiskey in two glass shots for him and Sirius.

" Okay. Let's start some serious business," Nestor speaks, grabbing Cornelius and Sirius' attention.

" The public will want to know who will raise their precious Savior now that they know she is an orphan because Albus told everyone that James and Lily got killed by Lord Voldemort. But, we all know that only Lily is dead because James is in a coma and recovering in the Muggle World," Nestor looks at Cornelius and Sirius.

Cornelius and Sirius looked at one another.

" You are Tulip's Godfather. It would be best if you raised her," Cornelius says.

Sirius lightly bites his lips, getting anxious.

" I-I don't know. Because of me, I lost Harry," His eyes teared up.

Cornelius and Nestor looked at Sirius with sympathy.

" Sirius. What happened to Harry wasn't your fault," Cornelius reassured.

" If only we had some proof to help us get Albus and Hagrid arrested for kidnapping. However, the whole Wizarding World would think we are fools because Albus announced that James and Lily only left behind Tulip. He did not mention Harry whatsoever," Nestor takes a sip of his Fire Whiskey.

Sirius frowned.

" Why would Albus do that? Not to mention Harry," He looks at Cornelius and Nestor.

" Maybe. Albus thought that if only mentioning one twin, the other twin would be safe," Cornelius rubbed his chin.

Sirius glanced at the stairs where Abigail took baby Tulip to rest. His hands lightly rubbed the Fire Whiskey glass. He looks at the glass with the liquid with dimmed eyes.

" She should stay here," Sirius whispered.

" Hm? What did you say?" Nestor asked while he and Cornelius looked at Sirius.

" After everything settles down with Lily getting a proper burial. And Tulip claims her portion of her parent's Will. Tulip should stay here with Cornelius and his wife, Abigail, as her Guardians. I mean, I would still be in her life as her Godfather. But I'll feel relaxed knowing that my best friend's daughter is loved and cared for by people who would give her the love and proper education that James and Lily would have given her," Sirius says.

Cornelius looked at Sirius in disbelief since he didn't expect the Wizard to give custody of baby Tulip to him.

" Are you sure about this?" Cornelius asked, wondering if Sirius was genuine or if the Fire Whiskey was influencing his decision.

" Yes. I trust you and your wife to raise my Goddaughter," Sirius firmly says.

Cornelius' gaze softened.

He opens his mouth to say something but gets cut off by his wife, Abigail.

" We would love to raise Tulip like how James and Lily would have wanted," Abigail spoke.

Cornelius turns his gaze to Abigail.

His eyes intently stared at his wife's eyes.

" I will be with you every step of the way," Abigail smiled. " And Rufus would love to have an older sister," She remembered baby Rufus and baby Tulip hugging each other in their sleep.

Cornelius' gaze softened, and nodded.

" Tomorrow. Let's go to Diagon Alley so that Abigail and I can register as Tulip's Guardians," Cornelius looks at Nestor.

" I'll help you guys out as your attorney," Nestor reassured.

" Thank you. It means alot," Cornelius smiled.

A week later, it was Sunday, November 8, 1981. Nestor helped Cornelius and Abigail get custody of baby Tulip as their Guardians, with Sirius still being her Godfather and was allowed to visit her whenever he could.

They got approved to read Tulip's Will that James and Lily left for her. Cornelius, Abigail, and Sirius were surprised to learn that James and Lily left baby Tulip at the Ancestral Potter Manor because she is the eldest and the Family Rings and Titles when she is old enough to claim them.

James left baby Tulip a Potter Family Heirloom that the child can claim on her eleventh birthday. Lily left baby Tulip a good condition Trunk that holds all up-to-date textbooks and Potion Cauldron for her to use when she attends Hogwarts.

Sirius got emotional when James left him a golden Snitch necklace. Even though James was a Chaser during their youth, he could spot the Snitch quickly and let the Seeker be aware of it, which was how Gryffindor would always win during the Hogwarts Quidditch Tournament. At the time, the Seeker gifted James the Snitch, informing him that he deserved it for always helping Gryffindor win.

When the Goblin placed the golden Snitch necklace on his hand, Sirius placed a protection charm. He carefully puts it on baby Tulip's neck, thinking that her Goddaughter deserves to have a part of James with her since he can't be by her side due to being in a coma in the Muggle World.

After all the Death Eaters got arrested for their horrific crimes because they supported Lord Voldemort, Sirius, and Cornelius were able to bury Lily Potter peacefully. The Britain Wizarding World went to Lily's funeral to pay their respects to Lily and James, who they believed the other one is dead.

The Britain Wizarding World also caught a glimpse of their Savior, baby Tulip, asleep in a stroller with baby Rufus and cared for by Abigail and Cornelius Fudge. They were relieved that a respectable Wizarding family would be raising the Girl Who Lived.

On that same day, Sirius and Remus reunited. Initially, their relationship is strained because one believes the other betrayed James and Lily, but they resolve their misunderstanding after communicating.

Remus was relieved to know that baby Tulip was being cared for by Abigail and Cornelius. And he felt grateful that they were okay with him being a part of her life. He promised the couple he would help with anything she needs when she gets older.
