The "What were you thinking" emo

Mostly consist of huge spikes in random spots and stripes in their hair. It may be dyed a bunch of different colors. This type of emo might be on the thumbnail for an emp cringe comp.

The "At Least They Tried"emo

Mostly middle schoolers that aren't allowed to cut, dye, straighten, or wear make up so they just part their hair and call if good. Just innocent little children.

The "Oh Hey, They Can Do This and Still Look Cute" or "Glo Up" emo

These people can be emo and look cute while doing it.
Not exactly easy but they somehow manage to pull it off. Or they could have been the "At Least They Tried" emo and then puberty hit like a bus. They might be that one hot person you saw at Hot Topic.
