A Not So Easy Start

Light Grey eyes opened abruptly to the morning sun shining down harsh light. The sound of unfamiliar waves and birds sounded overhead. A lovely smell of the ocean poured it's way into the air.

A girl with faded blue hair sat up from her aching slumber to see she was on a boat? The girl looked around herself to make sure she wasn't just picturing things. Strangers, a railing that showed a large mass of water, a man in a sailors suit... Yup she was most definitely on a boat.

I did it? I did it! I finally ran away! Wait, what time is it? How long has it been since I left... I need to eat something.....

Standing up slowly so the blood wouldn't rush to her head, the girl began to smile. She looked behind herself to see that she had sleeping on a bendable chair. Her backpack lay underneath the chair in the shade.

Several passengers passed by seeming to chat amongst themselves. None of them bothering to look at the girl.

Bending down, the girl picked up her backpack. She rechecked inside to make sure everything was still there. A toothbrush, her beloved 17 year old damaged stuffed animal named Horsey, a pair of socks, a box of melted pocky, cinnamon poptrarts, a wade of cash, a potion, and a water bottle. Yup, everything was still there. It was nice to know that nobody stole anything from her while she was sleeping out in the open.

Though it seemed like having a small amount of items to have when running away was silly, it wasn't. When the girl had read through several trainer books in her library; they would recommend traveling light on foot. That way traveling would be faster.

Quickly zippering the backpack, the girl ran to the front deck of the boat in pure ecstaticy! She watched as Luvdisk and Buizel splashed along-side the boat as a city came into view.

Suddenly a thought occurred to the girl. Just where had she journeyed off to exactly? She hadn't paid attention when boarding the ship to hear where it was even heading!

The girl then began to get anxious as she looked down the boats railing. The water suddenly looked deeper then it had been several minutes ago. Her palms began sweating up as she gripped onto the rail with dear life. Suddenly her heart began to speed up as she looked around her. Nobody seemed to notice her, which happened to be a good thing.

The girl took deep breaths as she focused souly onto the horizon ahead.

You're alright, nobody is staring at you. This means nobody is judging you. Everything is just fine. Your in control, anxiety come at me! I'm not going to let you get me this time!

The girl kept repeating her deep breaths until she managed to calm down. Thankfully by this time the boat had stopped, drawing all passengers to depart away from her.

"Welcome to the Kalos Region! Where dreams come true and love begins to bloom!" Announced the captain of the boat. "We have arrived in Coumarine City. Please exit the boat in an orderly fashion, thank you."

The girl followed the crowd of passengers exiting the boat, onto the docks. A burst of energy pulsed through the girl's veins as she set foot onto the land. She let out a long held in breath.

Time to swing into action with my new life!

The girl charged through the crowd, giving "excuse me's" and "sorry" along the way. A new smell of the Kalos Region reached her nose, making her smile big. She kept running as fast as she could until she passed a sign that read "Coumarine City, continuing onto Lumious City."

"Woo-hoo!" She yelled as she had made it into the central city. Although she had no idea where she was going, she ran straight ahead.

Taking in the sights of Lumious City was key at this moment. An art museum, train station, and cafe's were seen through the girl's eyes. This city was sooooo big soooo cool! The possibilities were just-

Suddenly the girl tripped over a crack in the cities sidewalk! She fell forward, hitting her right knee hard on a rock, but kept on running. Her pink shirt rubbed against the injured knee, causing the girl to hiss in pain as she ran. A Pokemon Center came into view, which she gladly ran into.

The Pokemon Center was huge! Elevators led to a shopping mall upstairs. Trainers crowded around the front desk with injured pokemon.

For the girl she quickly collapsed in a heep farthest away from the commotion. She bent her knee up to her chest to take a look at her injury.

Luck was not on her side, as the knee was scrapped up badly and bleeding a great deal. She cupped her knee attempting to apply pressure, but succeeded less than adequate. The blood was come out slower but was smearing on her hands. The whole scene was getting worse as she sat there without a clue on what to do. Nothing like this had ever happened to her before! What in the world was she going to do?

"Do you need any help?" A voice asked from behind.

The girl looked over her shoulder to see a boy, around her age, looking at her with worry. There was a certain something that made the boy seem trustworthy, maybe it was just her imagination that this stranger was willing to help. But whatever, she was willing to ask for help for once.

"Y-yes." The girl stuttered out. She was shy around new people, and often scared to talk to them. But right now she needed all the help she could get.

"Let me see your knee. I have a few bandages that may help." The boy said as he kneeled down to examine the girl's injury.

She moved her hand to reveal her bleeding knee. With her clean hand she unzipped her backpack and grabbed out a potion.

"Looks like you were prepared for an injury. May I see that?" The boy chuckled with a gentle smile.

The girl stared blankly to her "nurse" as she handed him the potion. The male gladly took the potion, spraying the medicine on the girls injury. He then rubbed it gently, creating circles that spread across the injury. He grabbed a bandage and wrapped it around the girls knee, wrapping it firmly in place.

"There we go! All done."

The girl smiled brightly to the boy as she bent her now bandaged knee. It throbbed a bit in pain, but remained in good condition.

"Thank you so much!" The girl smiled. "My names Locket, Locket Cantu. And you are?"

"Nice to meet you Locket. My name's Armor Caz." Armor said as he grabbed a hand sanitizer bottle and a tissue. He squirted a generous amount of the sanitizer onto the napkin and grabbed Locket's hand gently, the one with knee blood on it. He wipped off the blood from her hand before disposing of the napkin. He then sanitized his own hands, returning the bottle to his pocket.

Locket's stomach growled loudly, sounding similar to a Wailmer. This reminded the girl on how she hadn't eaten since the night before. With using all her energy on running, this was bound to happen eventually.

Armor chuckled at Locket's stomach growling. He stood up from his knelt over position and gave a give me one minute gesture before running off.

Locket sat alone in silence as she waited for Armor to come back.

He seems like a nice guy. I'm glad that we're friends! Or at least I think we're friends now, right? Locket thought to herself. She let her eyes wander around the Pokemon Center. The lights brightened the Center just right. She looked out the windows to see a large building with a sign on the side. The sign read Professor Sycamore's Laboratory. If there's a professor in the city that meant he or she must give out starter Pokémon!

"Here you go. I brought you a hamburger and moomoo milk."

Armor handed Locket the food with a smile. Although the girl was picky when it came to food, she happily ate her hamburger. This boy was lucky she liked plain hamburgers and moomoo milk!

After a few minutes had passed by Locket had finished her food. She thanked Armor with a hug before standing up from her seat to leave. In a flash she handed the male a box of pocky.

"Thank you so very much for all your help and generosity Armor! I'll guess be seeing you around!"

Before giving Armor a chance to say anything she bound out the door with a gracious wave and headed to the professors lab.

A blush reached Armor's checks as he realized what had just happened.

Locket sure is unlike anyone I've ever met before... Why is my heart racing when I've only just met her... I think I may have a crush on Locket...
