I Am From Poem #2
I am from the scratch of pen on paper,
From hands that ache from setting words free, like my soul rushing out in black and white
I am from the pale glow of a computer at 3 in the morning
I am from 23 votes, from profiles of friends from another life
From other worlds only I can see, that smell like honey and pine
I am from escaping,
From tiny closets, bursting with books
And huge fields, painted in sunlight and laughter
I am from watching superhero movies with my own cape,
From talk games and gym mats and a solid ocean
I am from the smell of coffee and sweat
From chocolate cheesecake and forkfuls of whipped cream,
Over-salted air and too-sweet tea
I am from red lights and dying trees,
From distant planets and evening traffic
I am from a dream,
Floating through everything, drifting with invisible winds
I am from sugar cookies and eating frosting with my fingers,
From strawberry pie and a blackwater river
I am from the mechanical heart that beats for my family,
The pulse of life with my friends
I am from summer thunderstorms and winter winds,
From giant sweatshirts and a collection of rings, passed through the family
I am from Ghostfire and Vivien River,
From leather journals and first-edition books and smooth paper
I am from D20s and elves and a bowl of potato chips, one and a half forgotten
I am from my own world of magic
Hey everyone! Thanks for reading! You guys know the drill--please comment, vote, and follow!!
Also, this is the second poem of this type I've posted here--Please comment to tell me which one you like more. I'm curious!
See you around, my fellow Wattpadians... If school doesn't kill me first.
