Sprocket POV

I was running.

I was running on an island. Four figures were chasing me.

Ryder, Hummdinger, Trouble, and Oliver.

They were after me.

Their insults were loud and clear. "Nobody needs you!" "Why did you return in the first place?" "You're worthless" "You're a coward!" And the loudest, the one that kept echoing in my mind:

"Nobody loves you!"

I felt myself running out of breath. I felt the earth shake beneath my paws.

No, I thought, not again. I looked around to realize one thing-

I'm cornered.

"Help," I cried.

But no one responded.

I jolted awake, breathing heavily. I looked around to see I had returned to the island that I attempted to run from. Suddenly I saw someone.

Lunar.

"Sprocket! Where have you been? Lizzy and I were worried sick! Are you ok? Why'd you run off?"

I told Lunar everything, from Oliver manipulating me to my song.

We decided that together, we would confront Oliver and free the other dogs. I would talk to Oliver while Lunar would set off the alarm and free the dogs as a distraction.

I crept into the base and looked around. I saw Chase, Skye, Everest, Rubble, Rocky, Zuma, and the other adults in cages. But one thing made me gasp.

In a cage to my right, I saw a certain pup. She looked like she was in pain, and that's what really got me mad.

The pup was Lizzy.

Okie guys! Short chapter I know but there's only a couple more left in this book! Today, our pup is Derek! He's an elephant and has super strength.
