chapter 65
KIKIOPE
"Are you still thinking ehn?" Bimpe whispered into my ears and I groaned before getting up.
"Bimpe it's early in the morning ooo and you have test today," I grumbled, and she hissed before jumping on my bed and Doyin joined too.
"No, tell me what are you still thinking about? It's been a hundred years and you're still thinking, it's like you want to die single abi?" Bimpe continued and I yawned, they've been disturbing me about the whole matter since yesterday evening.
"What's bad in dying single?"
"Ehn!" They shouted concurrently and I pursed my lips before I felt the contact of the pillow on my head.
"What na?" I whined.
"You need to get back to your senses," Doyin responded and I eyed her.
"I already told you last night, I'm not ready and I don't think I'll ever be, I'm not a fan of all this puppy love that won't lead to anything, you're just catching cruise, nothing more."
"Doyin hold my hand so I won't slap this girl," Bimpe said and I wanted to laugh at the way she squeezed her face.
"I'm not going to hold your hand because I also want to slap her."
I eyed her before moving back so they won't get to slap me.
"What's so bad in me not wanting to get into a relationship, it's not even about being young, I don't want to get married gan."
"What!" They both screamed loud enough to wake the whole hostel.
"So, you don't want to have kids?" Doyin questioned quietly.
I shrugged, "I can just adopt."
"Haaa," Bimpe placed her hands on her head as she shook her head.
"They haff change this girl's brain," Doyin turned to Bimpe who nodded.
"Not only did they change it, but they made her dense," Bimpe concurred.
Doyin then turned back to me, "Okay, agreed you don't want to get married now obviously you can't do that now and I know you'll get back to your senses soon but what of the teenage life enjoyment?"
I raised my brows, "What other enjoyment is more than what we've been doing, we enjoy our life to the fullest every day."
Bimpe shook her head, "Ah, people are wicked Sha, how could they do this to you?"
I rolled my eyes, "Nothing is wrong with me, I'm just pouring out my mind."
Bimpe nodded, "Okay, we agree you're pouring out your mind, but can't you just enjoy life a little, date guys and enjoy jare."
"Ha, so, you want me to start behaving like a tramp abi?"
"I didn't say that, it's just that you won't have much to say about your secondary school life?"
I scoffed, "There are numerous things to say, is it about you guys or our behavior or the fact that I'm the second in our set or...."
Doyin raised her palms, "We are not talking about that one, we are referring to the fun in school."
"We catch fun all the time, let's just leave it the way it is, I don't want any complications in my life, I want to live a simple life."
"Ahh, finally, they prospered," Bimpe exclaimed and I resisted the urge to laugh.
"That's enough explanation, I need to sleep."
"It's almost time for school," Doyin announced.
"Oh, let me go and bath," I got down from the bed leaving them mouth agape.
Then I turned back to look at their shocked expression, "I can't wait to see my boyfriend."
"What!" They scrunched their brows and I erupted into laughter.
"You should see your face, I was only pulling your legs, " I punctuated it with loud laughter.
"Okay, so, what are you saying now? Pulling our legs in which way?"Doyin asked with lifted brows while Bimpe scrunched up her face.
I smiled, "In my speech this morning, do you actually think I meant it? Why won't I intend to get married or have kids? Oh, oh, you guys are the dumb one," I clapped mockingly.
"Are you okay? Is this girl bipolar?" Bimpe asked on top of her voice.
I laughed out loudly, "Oya sorry, let me go and bath, I really need to see my boyfriend," I proceeded to move but Doyin grabbed my hand.
"Oya stop confusing us and talk."
A smile crept up my face, "Okay, after you guys got tired of disturbing me last night, I didn't sleep early like you guys but was rather on phone with Khalid and I consented."
"Consented on what?" Bimpe asked.
"On what you guys want, what you're always expecting," and with that I dashed out of the room knowing they would probably kill me for confusing them.
💢💢💢💢💢💢
"See the way that one is chewing pen, I don't understand what you're counting in the ceiling oo, anyway, just let me catch you spying or trying any funny act, that's a farewell to your test," Ọyọndẹkun shouted before sitting on the teacher's chair in front of class.
We all resisted the urge to laugh at her outburst, she'd been dozing off since she entered our class to invigilate our tests, she'd only jerked awake for a second and had pointed at no one with her outburst even though she didn't catch anyone.
"Please, what's number two?" Nnena tapped me and I turned back to her.
"Are you the one asking or Abimbola?" I queried while looking at Abimbola who frowned at me.
"Why would I ask you? Something that I know."
I scoffed, "Yeah, you know it, that's why your paper has been blank since the test started and you've been trying to ask everyone."
She eyed me contemptuously before I turned to Nnena, "What's number two jare?"
"I don't know it that's why I'm asking you."
I gave her a wry smile, "I don't know it too but Bimpe knows it, just ask her," I said while trying to restrain myself from laughing, if Bimpe wants to teach someone gan, it wouldn't be Abimbola or her friend.
Nnena sighed before tapping Bimpe's shoulder while glancing at me.
"Who is that? What do you want?" Bimpe turned back to her with a glare. She didn't like being disturbed whenever she was writing, it's better you ask her when she's done.
Nnena sucked in her breath before talking, "Umm, do you know number two?"
"Number two of what? English? Biology? Civics? Computer? Maths? Economics or which one?" Bimpe hissed before turning back to her paper while I laughed not too loud so Ọyọndẹkun wouldn't wake up.
"You have ten minutes left," Ọyọndẹkun announced and murmurs filled the whole class.
"I didn't say you should make noise oo, infact start submitting," she got up on her feet and everyone started grumbling.
"But ma we still have ten minutes left," Bella protested.
"And so? What's my business? Submit something my friend," she yelled and noise filled the class.
"If you hear your number, come and submit and if you don't, you'll mark it yourself, Number one," she shouted without listening to the pleas of others.
Bella got up gently, "Ma, which subject should we submit?"
"Everything."
Couple of minutes later, she strutted out of our class with our test papers while other students who didn't finish kept on cursing her.
"Hey, Jubilee," Bimpe called as soon as we got to the entrance of our class.
She turned back to look at us, "What? If it's to pretend that you're concerned about me, please don't, I know it's all pretence and I'm sick and tired of everyone pretending to care about me."
Bimpe and I scoffed while exchanging glances.
"What's our business with you? The people that are even greeting you gan are mad," I told her and she eyed us.
"What do you want?" She shrieked.
"We are having our practical this week and you have to pay," Bimpe told her and she turned to look at us squarely.
"Which practical?"
"Oga oo and you're a student you don't know the practical you're having," I mocked, and she eyed me before looking at Bimpe.
"Home Management practical and it's this week after our tests, you have to pay."
She lifted her brows, "Pay for what?"
"Are we not going to contribute money nii, it's just three of us in the group and it's certain you can't be useful, or can you do anything with one hand? Normally we are to contribute the money but so far you're not doing anything, you're the only one to pay," Bimpe explained.
"Why should I be the only one to pay?"
"Are you deaf?" I asked her and she glared at me.
"Okay, it's only to pay right? I don't need to bring the equipment?"
"Yeah, I'll do that."
"So, how much?"
Bimpe glanced at me and I knew she would mention a ridiculous amount, and she didn't disappoint me, "₦10, 000."
"What!" Jubilee's eyes widened.
"Why are you shouting? I even pitied you, normally it should be more than that, do you know the quantity of the food we are to cook and it's not only for us but the teachers too," Bimpe said while eyeing her.
"Okay then, I'll send it to your account."
Bimpe nodded, "Good and it'll be better if you do it tonight because we have to go to the market tomorrow."
"Alright," Jubilee replied before proceeding to leave while we walked away heading to our usual spot.
"Ah, Bimpe what do you want to use ten thousand for?" I started and she glanced at me with a smile.
"Wo, I need to gain naw, this is business."
I chuckled, "Business indeed, you only need five thousand and you doubled it, even in my group, we only contributed four thousand."
"That's because you're not wise," she replied before sitting on the chair and we met the others there.
"What should we eat?" Abee inquired.
"That's the only thing you know, you can't even greet," Bimpe hissed.
"Why should he greet? Who are you?" Kunmi interjected and Bimpe dashed him a scowl.
"Let's eat bread and egg," Doyin proposed.
"I agree," Khalid concurred and I glanced at him.
"Bread and egg then, let me call one junior to buy it for us," Bimpe said as she proceeded to stand up.
"You didn't even ask if we want to eat it," Kunmi said and she turned to him.
"Who needs your opinion?" She hissed before calling one junior students to buy our meal and we shifted from one topic to another waiting for the arrival of our food.
"Eehn, they're going to shift the IVY class to morning," Bimpe announced and we all snapped our heads towards her.
"Ah, morning ke? Why?" I questioned.
"We'll start having GCE lesson after school," she explained.
"Oh, that's true sha," Doyin said.
"How did you know?" Kunmi turned to Bimpe.
"Are you asking me that? You call yourself the S.P boy and you don't even know that, oga oo, what's your usefulness in this school?"
He dashed her a scowl, and she erupted into the laughter, she wanted to talk but the appearance of the junior student who brought our food stopped her.
