KIKIOPE
"I don't want to hear any rubbish after we come back from the midterm break ooo, Khalid come, let me teach you what to do," Bimpe said before dragging Khalid away while I chuckled.
Since last night, she and Doyin had been disturbing Khalid over the matter and all I did was laugh.
"Why are you laughing like a mad man?" Doyin slapped my shoulders and I rolled my eyes.
"Did you see me laugh?" I turned back to her.
"Noo, you were crying," she jested and I eyed her.
"Infact come and be going to your house," I pushed her inside the house, and she chuckled.
"We are already going before, right Abee?"
Abee and Kunmi who had been playing ludo in the living room turned to us.
"What did you say?" Abee inquired and Doyin walked up to him.
"We'll soon be going right?" She queried before sitting by his side.
"Yeah," he nodded and Bimpe walked out of the guest room with Khalid.
"What did you teach him?" I asked her and she eyed me.
"Why do you want to know? My own is sha that by Monday, we must hear good news," she replied.
"Abi oo," Doyin added and I shook my head, just then we heard a knock from the door, Kunmi decided to stand up and immediately he opened it, my mom walked in with Sugar Boy.
"Ah, what are you doing at home?" She queried with surprise evident in her face as her eyes scattered around the living room.
"It's mid term break," I announced.
"Oh..."
My friends cut her off by greeting her and Sugar Boy. After exchanging pleasantries, she walked into their room.
"Time to go home," Abee announced before standing up.
"Ahn, you're already going?" I questioned with raised brows.
"Yes nah, it's not like we stay here, we are still travelling to Lagos," Doyin replied.
"E kpele oo," Bimpe and I said concurrently before bursting into laughter.
Not quite long, Doyin and Abee got their things ready, Bimpe and Kunmi decided to go home too, seems Kunmi's mom was finally trying to get close to him or something 'cause she called him herself maybe the old man travelled again or something.
"I'm saying my own now ooo, I don't want to hear story on Monday, Khalid, you hear me?" She pulled her ears like someone talking to her child and I rolled my eyes.
"Even me gan, I don't want to hear we're just best friends or one stupid thing," Doyin added and I eyed her.
"Shuu, be going jare," I pushed Bimpe, and she eyed me.
"I'm already going before, Kunmi come jare," she pulled him closer to herself while giving me some funny looks.
"That's one maruwa," Abee announced and Doyin flagged it. Minutes later, they all alighted into the tricycle while Khalid and I waved at them till they were out of sight.
"Your friends are something else," I turned to Khalid as we walked back to my house.
"They're not your friends abi?" He jested and I smiled.
"What did Bimpe tell you?"
He glanced at me before replying, "Why do you want to know?"
I wanted to reply but the sound from his phone hindered me, he glanced at me before picking it while I just walked away.
He joined me few minutes later when I wanted to open the gate to my house.
"That was my mom, I'm going home now," he announced and I nodded.
"Okay, see you later," I waved at him, and he smiled in return then he headed to his place while I stared at his retreating figure with beaming smiles on my face.
When I saw him open their gate, I decided to enter my house, I met Mama D in the living room trying to pick up the remote.
"Your friends have gone?" She questioned and I nodded before heading towards my room but her voice stopped me.
"Kikiope!"
I turned back to her.
"Come here."
I did as instructed waiting impatiently for whatever she intended to say.
"I'm getting married," she announced and my eyes doubled its size.
I plopped down on the sofa before replying, "To who?"
She frowned before replying, "Felix of course who else?"
I nodded, "Oh, that's right," I'm so stupid for asking that.
"We already fixed the date to July ending," she continued.
That's about two months from now, "Oh, that's good."
I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad about the whole thing. She talked more on her marriage and I could see she was really ecstatic about the whole thing. Maybe it's for the better.
💢💢💢💢💢💢
"Hehe, so, you even know book," I joked, and he chortled.
"I'm not like you that doesn't know anything."
"Better shut up! Just because you scored everything and I missed only one doesn't mean you know book oo," I retorted, and he chuckled.
"What does it mean then?" He asked in a mocking tone and I threw the book at him while he laughed.
"So, we've finished reading our books, what should we do now?" I questioned as I stood up from the chair and jumped on his bed.
"What do you want us to do?" He inquired before joining me on the bed.
I got up and tucked my legs beneath me before placing one of his pillows on my laps, "Ehen, what did Bimpe tell you yesterday?"
He shook his head, "She said you must be my girlfriend before Monday."
I rolled my eyes, "So, it's by force abi?"
He narrowed his eyes, "Kikiope nah, you're the sugar in my tea, the cockroach in my cupboard, the egg ..."
I cut him off by throwing the pillow at him while he erupted into laughter.
"You're so stupid and dumb, is that how to woo somebody, oga ooo," I clapped my hands, and he laughed again.
"But Bimpe told me I should woo you like that, she said your head is always doing gbagaun and body is always sparking if you hear those words, the egg in my eggroll, the rat in my wardrobe," he chuckled and I smacked his head.
"You're so foolish and you keep repeating it."
"But Bimpe told me that's the easiest way to..."
"Shut up jo," I threw another pillow at him, and he was quick to dodge it, but he threw it back.
I scowled at him before kneeling down on the bed then I slapped his head with the pillow.
"Ouch!" He stifled a laughter and I slapped his face with the pillow again, I wanted to do it the third time, but he grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to him. My breath hitched as I gaped at his dreamy eyes.
"Now on a more serious note, listen to me carefully, Bimpe told me to give you a long speech, now listen."
I bobbed my head before a smirk appeared on his face, I knew he would surely say rubbish, and he didn't prove me wrong.
"Ever since I set my eyes on you," he started with a tugging smile and I rolled my eyes.
"You're more than dumb, can you even remember the first time you set your eyes on me?" I tried to wriggle out of his grip, but he held my hand tightly while I threw him a warning look.
"You know I remember the first day we met," he continued and I wanted to smack his head again but decided against it.
"Like you have retentive memory, we were in nursery school oo, maybe nursery one or two and you're telling me you can remember," I snickered.
"Nursery 2," he corrected and I rolled my eyes.
"So, how does that connect with this? Goodness, how did you even toast Abimbola?"
"Like toast bread," he responded and I smacked his head with another pillow before getting out of his grip.
He laughed heartily and I felt like slapping him.
"It's fun to tease you."
I eyed him before getting down from the bed, "I'm going to my house, if you need me you know the way to my house."
He got up quickly and opened his arms widely, "You're not going anywhere."
I pursed my lips before placing my hands on my hips, "Can you just move? I have something better to do."
"Like what?" He moved closer to me in an intimidating way and I sucked in my breath.
"Go away," I proceeded to push him out of my way, but he caught my hands.
"What's wrong with you na? I really need to go home."
"Only on one condition," he dropped my hand and I lifted my brows.
"What?"
"Let's go out tomorrow."
I quirked my brows, "Out? To where?"
He shrugged, "I'll tell you later."
I pursed my lips before a smirk appeared on my face, "Like a date?"
He shrugged, "Anything you call it."
"You're so stupid," I slapped his shoulders, and he smiled.
"I'm just as stupid as you,"he responded and I eyed him.
"So, can I go now?"
He nodded, then I proceeded to leave before his voice stopped me, "Bimpe told me there's one party at..."
I cut in, "Which stupid party? It seems Bimpe hasn't learnt her lesson with what happened to Jubilee two days ago."
He slouched his shoulders, "That doesn't mean every party is dangerous, not like the celebrant always get shot at his birthday, at least Jubilee didn't die."
I pressed my lips together, "But she sustained injuries, she was even the only person that got shot."
"So, you wanted them to shoot everyone?" He joked and I puckered my brows.
"No, but I think there's something wrong? Why did she get shot on her birthday?"
"You can ask her," he joked and I threw him a scowl.
"You're such a cretin, I'm done with you."
He grabbed my hand, "Done with what? Something you haven't even started."
I smiled before withdrawing my hand from him, "See you later," and with that I walked out of his room and house.
Few minutes later, I got back to my house only to realize the door was opened. Mama D and Sugar Boy had gone to his parents place this morning before I left for Khalid's place, and they won't be back until tomorrow, so, who opened the door?
I walked into the house gingerly with confused mind. The living room was just as silent as a graveyard. Where could the person be?
"Stop there!" I heard a voice shout, it had an hint of familiarity even though it somehow sounded different.
I turned back gently only to meet my smiling sister.
"Moye!" I hollered before jumping on her.
I'm back ooo
Jubilee was the one that got shot and what could possibly be the reason?
Sorry for keeping you guys waiting for weeks, I had to resume school and sit for exams which has been so stressful by the way.
