KHALID

I was at the pool discussing with Abimbola who had been all over me since we arrived at the Presidential library before I felt something cold on my cheeks. Looking up, I met with Kikiope's smiling face dressed in a crocheted mini gown that she'd worn alongside the other girls earlier in the day which made them look coy, I learnt Moye had knitted it for them, she was looking down at me with a brilliant smile, turns out she just pecked me.

"Hey, I've been looking for you since," she started before sitting by my side.

Abimbola replied with furrowed brows,"Why were you..."

Kikiope cut in, "I wasn't talking to you and I know you're not his mouth piece," she wrinkled her brows in displeasure at her before turning to me for my answer.

"I was here, you could have called me," I replied, and she nodded with a charming smile. For the past two days, she'd been behaving differently to me, though I was enjoying the attention and sweetness but it was still amazing me. Why the sudden change?

She opened her mouth to reply but the appearance of Abee and Doyin who was also wearing the same mini gown as Kikiope impeded her.

"So, you guys are here?" Doyin asked with her brows raised in suspicion.

"Yeah, I just got here not quite long,"Kikiope replied.

She pursed her lips, "Hmm, the way the two of you have been clinging unto each other lately because we can't see Khalid without you, hmm..." She wriggled her brows and Kikiope smiled.

"What do you mean?" Abimbola shouted and we all turned to her.

"Oh, I didn't know the parasite was here," Doyin jived.

"How would you know when you're obviously blind," Abimbola answered back sharply.

Doyin giggled before responding, "I wonder how you got promoted to SS2 and how you even made it to Pink?"

"Her name was the last on the list," Kikiope snickered.

Doyin nodded, "No wonder, that's why you don't know the meaning of obviously let alone the correct use of it."

Abimbola got up quickly as she fumed with anger, "Are you talking to me?"

Doyin shrugged, "Apparently, who doesn't know the meaning of obviously here except you?" She opened her palms widely in mockery.

Abimbola flared, "You're crazy, your..."

Bimpe who just arrived at the scene alongside Kunmi cut in, "Who is the dog here oo?"

Abimbola turned to her but she didn't reply.

"Guys, let's go to the cinema hall, it's our last day here, and we haven't gone there," Bimpe suggested as she ignored Abimbola's fierce look.

"That's true, Sugar Boy won't be here until evening," Kikiope said before pulling me up.

Immediately we got up, Kikiope placed her arms around my shoulder, I turned to look at her, and she smiled before Abimbola interrupted.

"Get your hands off him!" She shouted and I shook my head.

"You have no right to tell me that," she replied with a smug smile.

"I do because he's my boyfriend," she snapped and the girls all erupted into a shrill laughter.

After some seconds, Kikiope beamed, "Who is the boyfriend here? Definitely not Abee."

"When she's not mad," Doyin replied quickly before grabbing Abee's hand.

"And not Kunmi," Bimpe added while Kunmi quickly raised his hand in mock surrender.

"And finally not Khalid," Kikiope concluded before dragging me away, I shared a look with the guys who only slumped their shoulders while Abimbola kept on screaming behind us.

After collecting our popcorns from the girls, we strolled into the cinema hall.

"Wait, hope it's not one Romance film you guys paid for?" Abee voiced out my thoughts, the girls had been the ones who bought the tickets while we waited for their return.

Bimpe smiled mischievously before replying, "It's a horror movie."

"What!" Kunmi hollered. He was someone who despised horror movie, infact he preferred Romance to horror.

Bimpe turned to him with a sly smile, "You'll enjoy it."

"You're kidding me right?"

She shook her head.

"Now I agree that you hate me," he said while frowning at her.

"Of course I do," she replied before pointing at an empty row for us to seat.

Immediately I sat down, Kikiope sat beside me, just as Abimbola wanted to seat by my right, Bimpe pushed her away and sat down but not without earning a glare from Abimbola, she wanted to seat by Bimpe but Bimpe dragged Kunmi to seat by her and as she decided to seat on the other seat, Doyin butt in and that was how she ended up seating at the end of the row.

Not quite long, the movie started and Kunmi decided to ignore it by pressing his phone but Bimpe snatched it from him, lifting his brows at her, she rolled her eyes, and he had no other choice than to beg her, but she eventually made him watch the film.

I felt Kikiope grab my hand in fear and I looked down at her in surprise.

"You're a big fan of horror movie, so, why are you scared?" I asked and she looked up at me before responding.

"This one is terrifying."

She grabbed my hand tightly before placing her head on my shoulder, my eyes met with Abimbola who had plugged her eyes on us since the movie started, she looked like someone who could burst any time but I ignored her, at least I was enjoying the attention Kikiope was giving me. It went on and on like that till the movie ended.

"God, I'll never go to a cinema with Bimpe," Kunmi snorted after she returned his phone.

She grinned, "Lie that you didn't enjoy the movie, especially that place that the guy murdered the lady gruesomely, the place he beheaded her and the..."

"That's okay," he shouted as he covered his ears while we all laughed.

"So, guys, the last place we haven't gone to is the library," Doyin enunciated, and we all snapped our heads to her.

"So, you want us to go there?" Abee who was right beside her asked in disbelief.

She shrugged.

"Let's go and read," Kikiope concurred and in a twinkle of an eye, others agreed and that was how we met ourselves in front of the library.

"Auntie, this library is not like your school library that you turned to love arena, so, behave yourself here," Kikiope warned Abimbola whose expression closed up.

I'd just finished having dinner of Yam Pottage with Aunt Sofia who I met home after we got back from Abeokuta, she'd been worried that she didn't see me at home when she got back for her day off but I narrated everything to her and she finally relaxed.

Slumping on the sofa to rest, a message popped up from my phone. Picking up my phone, it read Kikiope. A smile crawled up my face.

"What are you smiling at?" Aunt Sofia asked curiously as she headed to the chaise longue.

"Nothing," I replied before clicking on the message.

   K- Remember this?

I furrowed my brows before another message entered, it was a picture of the both of us back in JSS3, one we'd taken at an eatery on my birthday, she'd forced me to go out that day, it was during the holidays and we were both bored at home, so, she'd decided we go out at least to celebrate my birthday, then we took a picture of when we were taking ice cream, the ice cream had been all over her mouth then, I laughed at the thought again.

"And you claimed there's nothing going on?" Aunt Sofia queried with raised brows.

"It's nothing," I assured her and she nodded before picking up the TV remote while I turned back to my phone.

Me: I can remember vividly, how did you get the picture though?

To my surprise, her reply came in immediately, someone who always took all the time in the world before replying.

K- Just stumbled upon it tonight when I was arranging my photo album😁

Me- Oh, didn't know you still had the picture though.

K- I keep memorable pictures🥰

For some reason, I smiled at her response.

Me- Oh

K- So, your birthday is coming soon, your plan?😋

Okay, her use of emojis is getting frequent, Kikiope doesn't use emojis while chatting.

Me- Why are you using emojis?

K- Just decided to use it, going back to your birthday

Me- There's nothing special about it

K- 🙄 We are going to celebrate it whether you like it or not, how I wish it was on Valentine's day.

Me- That would be terrible.

K- But at least it's still a day after Valentine and its on Saturday which means we can catch fun🤗

Me- I'm not a girl that would be celebrating birthdays.

K-🙄 Sorry oo, my own is that, we are going to catch fun this year Sha

Me- You can do that yourself

K- Of course, anyway, I need to complete the notes I missed on Friday.

I raised my brows at this, I didn't even remember it at all, anyway, I'll give those girls to copy it for me.

Me- Oh, you're such a studious girl, where did you even get the note from?

K- Got it from Tunde😁

M- Oh, till tomorrow then.

K- Can't wait to see you tomorrow 🤗

I read the message over and over again before I finally replied.

Me- Goodnight.

K- Sleep tight💖💖💖💖

Then she went offline while I still stared at my phone as a wide smile appeared on my face, the smile that didn't waver from my face till the following day.
