Looking in the mirror, I pulled my hair back into a ponytail.

'I was late, Austin would be angry.'

Just as I finished the thought, my phone notified me of a message, no doubt from Austin.

The past few days had been quite eventful.

I had woken up in the dead of night screaming in pain, gripping my shoulder and then falling unconscious. When I came to, I discovered a strange symbol branded onto my shoulder. After that I spent an hour on the internet to find what it meant but to no avail. My plan to keep it hidden until I knew what it was also failed because Austin's way too attentive.

Turned out it meant that I was blessed and was the chosen one, what that meant I still didn't know. I didn't feel different in any way.

No matter, I was prepared for anything. Just try me.

Smiling I grabbed my phone and hurried out before Austin went into a frenzy.
