I'll be watching you
Neil went out of the fairy forest. Just to find it was already morning. Had he really been that long in the fairyland? Neil didn't really cared now he needed to get back to Welton. It was quite a surprise that he ever wanted to get back in this hell, but what does a fool do for love? Neil wanted to hurry and started to run. But instead of running normally, his body began to speed up immediately. From zero to hundred. The wood was flashing next to him so fast that he couldn't even see a thing. He looked behind him and then. BANG! Neil hit a hard stonewall of Welton. After a short cursing he gently touched his check. It hurt a bit, but not as horrible as it should have. Also there was a little scratch. Neil whipped the few little blood drops away from his cheek and looked at his finger. Incredible, his blood was green. A dark green. His wound started to burn. Maybe he had a Puck spell for that. He took a sprinkle of the fairy dust and rubbed it against his check. The pain flew away and the little scratch was gone. Next thing was getting in the Todd's classroom. Maybe they had English now. Oh, he also would see Mr. Keating again. Neil closed his eyes and jumped one time. Now he was gliding a bit on the wind. Still a bit wobbly he flew up to the classroom window until he reached the window seal. Neil squatted on there like a crow and looked inside. Mr. Keating was nowhere to be seen, but Mr. Nolan. Was he teaching? We're was Mr. Keating? They didn't...No never. They couldn't had just fired him? Charlie wasn't there as well and they only talked about boring analysis. Neil looked for someone else. Finally he spotted him. Todd Anderson. The sweet shy boy right in front of him. He was patiently writing. More quiet then ever. Neil begann to knock against the window. In the hope Todd would look up. He actually did after a while. Just to look trough Neil and just stare into the morning sun. Neil knocked again. Now Todd heard it. His brows formed a V and he was trying to find the thing that made those sounds. "Mr. Anderson what is distracting you?", Mr. Nolan asked strict. "There was just a knocking against the window." "Probably a bird." "But there is no bird." "Then it must have been the wind. Now how does the use of the article 'the' effect the reader?" It was knocking again. Now everyone heard it. Mr. Nolan thought it was coming from the door first and he went outside and asked:"Who is there?" "It came from the window, Sir.", Cameron pointed out. Mr. Nolan came closer. Neil was now eye in eye with him. He smirked. Oh this old idiot. Neil was knocking again. Now Mr. Nolan had enough. Energetically he opened the window and yelled outside:"Who of you is this!? This isn't funny at all. Do you want to end like Mr. Dalton?! Show yourself you..." He couldn't say more. Neil had jumped inside and had used a bit of his magic. One spell he still knew from the play. Neil giggled as Mr. Nolan turned to the class. Everyone was trying to hold back there laughter. "What is wrong?" Mr. Nolan's face turned bright red. Cameron was the one who told him. "Sir, your ears. They are..." "What?!" "Donkey ears." Cameron seemed irritated. Was he on Mr. Nolan's side? Now everyone was laughing, but they also seemed a bit creeped out by the event. Excepted for Todd. He wasn't laughing at all. He just seemed genuinely frightened and in disbelief. Neil sat down on Todd's desk. "Hey Todd. Smile a bit for me." Neil whispered but he knew Todd wouldn't hear him. He didn't seemed to be part of that world anymore and wasn't moving at all. Not even as Mr. Nolan was screaming and running out of the classroom, followed by giggling students. Neil sighted. "Fine then. I'll make it stop." Neil ran over to Mr. Nolan snapped once and Mr. Nolan dropped on the ground with his normal ears. The students had to carry him back in the classroom and as he awoke they told him he just had a black out and they would have rescued him. Honestly it was what most students told themselves as well, since no one could believe what had happened. Mr. Nolan was feeling dizzy. So he just gave them some random page as homework and left the classroom.
The rest of the day Neil was running behind Todd. Watching him taking classes, making sports and all that stuff. But he needed to wait till he would finally study alone in their room. Todd sat down on his bed, while Neil made himself comfortable on the windowsill. Todd started quietly doing his work. Or rather started to starre at a blank page before a tear landed on the paper and then more followed. Todd was shaking and crying. It was the only time of the day where he showed his feelings. He tried to get back to work with his puffy eyes. "Oh, I told you, you can't take care of yourself." Neil had an idea. Quickly he grabbed Todd's homework as he did once back when he was alive. Todd seemed confused. His eyes still looked only at his now empty hands. His brain needed time to react. Then he looked up. The paper was flying in the air and jumped around in his room. But Todd didn't dare to move. He just felt down on his pillow and began crying again.
Neil dropped the paper. He came closer to Todd. Sure he couldn't touch him and he really wanted to talk to him but he couldn't. "I am here Todd. I am here." Neil felt helpless and now he joined Todd's tears. He wanted to do something but he couldn't he just couldn't reach out to him.
Suddenly Neil noticed the poetry book of the dead poets society. Todd must have found it inside his desk.
Something inside Neil began to giggle. It didn't sounded like him rather like a little elf with a big plan. He grabbed the book and a pen. On the front page he scribbled the words: Come to the cave tomorrow night... Then Neil snapped. A little sneeze came from Todd. Neil blushed a bit. He snapped again over Todd's head.
Todd sneezed again, and again and finally he looked up. Right now he was thinking that he had way to less sleep and way too much nightmares and the old book was probably the reason for the sneezing so he checked it. As he opened the book he noticed something odd. Someone had recently written inside of it. It was a familiar handwringing but that surly wasn't his. "Come to the cave tomorrow night? And talk to the air now." What the hell? If Charlie hadn't been banned from school he would have thought it was a prank. Should he do it? Something inside of him wanted to risk it. But how? They had made much harder rules. "Talk to the air? Why would I?" His notebook began to fly and his pen wrote in it. Todd definitely had way to less sleep. His block had a note on it. "Why not? Now will you promise to come?", Todd read out loud. "Fine what are you?...I am Puck...I, I don't understand. The elf of the forest? What do you want?... I can't explain it here just come tomorrow...I can't. It's impossible to get out of the school...I will do this. Just get ready and leave. You know the way. I'll take care of the rest...Fine, I'll do it... Oh and one more thing...Yes?... He loves you so much...Who?...You know the answer." Todd stopped. Neil? He needed sleep. Puck or the illusion or whatever that was seemed to be gone. Todd's eyes felt heavy and his body seem to drop on the bed by itself.
"I wish you sweet dreams Todd. Sleep now and dream peacefully." Neil had placed his hand over Todd's eyes and made him sleep. He looked like he really needed it.
