does anyone remember the plastic au created by the september drabble series?

"Mitch! Get in here!"

Mitch blinked rapidly as those words snapped him out of his trance. He glanced towards the living room, where the sound came from, only to see Scott with an eyebrow raised, Gabe resting on his hip, and two phones in his hand.

"We're taking pictures now?" Mitch asked, not bothering to disguise his tone. He stood up from the table and began walking towards the blonde as his mom spoke up.

"We always get family pictures, Mitch." He sighed, but knew it was the truth. It happened every year, and he should have just been waiting for the moment for it to happen again this year. He walked into the living room then, Scott on his trail. Immediately, his parents came into view, and were gesturing him over to where they were standing. After a moment of getting in position and Scott attempting to juggle the valuables in his hands, pictures were finally being taken. Once they were done, Mitch's parents went towards Scott and were taking the phones from his hand.

"Alright Scott, get in there with Mitch."

Their eyes both went wide.

"Wait, what?" Mitch finally said once the initial shock left his body.

"You two need to get a picture together. With Gabe too while we're at it."

"Really? Are you two sure?"

Mitch really wanted to believe them. He truly did. But hell, it took his ex nearly two years of visiting Mitch's family to get in a picture. Yet, only three hours after meeting them, Scott was requested to get in the picture. It was absurd, yet right in front of Mitch's eyes, Scott was being pushed back towards the two.

"We are sure. Do we need to discuss this later?" Yes, as a matter of fact, Mitch thought. Yet it had to wait, especially considering Scott was right next to them and was taking in every word that was being said.

So instead of attempting to argue further, Mitch plastered on a smile and let the pictures be taken. Eventually, Gabe was being pulled out of Scott's arms, and just the couple was being told to pose. Mitch's cheeks flushed red when, in the middle of the whole ordeal, Scott leaned down to peck Mitch's lips.

And even though it was still incredibly hard for him to believe, Mitch couldn't help but see his parent's point, and see just how well Scott fit into their little family.
