ten; hot chocolate
"Here you are," Scott said, handing one of the cheap foam cups over to Mitch. His date smiled and gladly took it, relishing in the feeling of warmth the cup was giving off.
"Are you sure I can't pay you back?" Mitch asked as the two once again began walking through the highly decorated park. Scott took a sip of his drink before quickly shaking his head.
"For a dollar hot chocolate? Positive." Mitch smirked again before deciding to take a sip as well. He briefly considered telling the blonde man the truth, but he spoke up first.
"Isn't this park gorgeous?" Mitch nodded his head and muttered a soft 'yeah' before Scott continued on. Mitch listened to him carefully, watching as he grew passionate about, of all things, a park filled to the brim with Christmas decorations and lights. It was endearing though, so Mitch kept on listening. He even felt himself swell with joy as Scott admitted that he always meant to bring a date here, but was simply waiting for the right person. But instead, he covered it up by taking a drink of hot chocolate. Which, after Mitch took a second to realize it, was completely empty. After another minute of thinking, Mitch came to a halt, which prompted his date to do the same.
"You okay?"
"Okay, I should've told you this earlier, but I don't like hot chocolate."
"Really?" A pause. "Then why'd you drink the whole thing?"
"Guess you did a good job of distracting me."
