eleven; carols
Mitch raced downstairs the moment the doorbell rang out. He ignored the looks his parents gave him as he ran past them, and simply opened the front door and stepped outside. The second the door closed behind himself, he saw blue eyes, a warm smile, and heard the first lovely notes of an all too familiar Christmas hymn.
As the song progressed, Mitch took in Scott's form, the beanie on his head and his mitten covered hands. He had no doubt Scott was cold, even though he had a heavy jacket on, which somehow looked amazing on him, if Mitch did say so. A glance to his right showed Scott's car, parked neatly to one side of the driveway. He instantly grew confused, but his attention was quickly drawn back to Scott.
"So tender and mil— why don't you have a jacket or shoes on?"
"Not important. Finish the song." Scott rolled his eyes before finishing the last two lines of the song. Immediately after it finished, Mitch stepped forward, then threw his arms around Scott's neck. Scott smiled once again as he wrapped his arms around the boy's waist, pulling him close to his chest.
"Where's the rest of the church?" Mitch asked, setting his chin on Scott's chest to look up at him.
"We went caroling in a different neighborhood this year. But I thought my boyfriend would still appreciate a song or two." Those words were all it took for Mitch to go up on his toes and kiss Scott.
"You heathen," Mitch muttered as they pulled away. "You'll get in trouble."
"Only if they find out." Mitch smirked, and the blonde was leaning back down to kiss him. The couple remained there for a few moments, silently exchanging kisses. Only when they heard the faint sound of Mitch's mom calling for him did they pull away from one another.
"Love you, baby," Mitch said, not being able to help lifting his head to place his lips against Scott's jaw. "See you on Monday."
"Want me to pick you up? At seven?"
"Yes, please." Scott smirked and squeezed Mitch one final time.
"Love you too."
