"SO, WHAT YOU want to do to get tough is to learn how to fight." Two-Bit explained as he chucked a beer bottle at a tree, making the bottle shatter into a million pieces. 

Dally scoffed from behind us. "Do you really think innocent little Lexie here is going to learn how to fight and be tough?" 

I turned towards him, a frown plastered across my face. "How can you be so mean to everyone and not care?" 

He shrugged. "It's easy. Just let people in, and soon you'll hate everything that lives and walks on this planet." 

"Am I letting people in?" I questioned, tilting my head slightly to the side. 

Dally nodded and shot me a grin. "You don't know what you're getting yourself into. Once you let people in, they hurt you. You might think handsome little Soda wouldn't hurt you, but just wait. He will." 

Two shoved Dally. "Lay off, Dal. You can't just go around saying that stuff to her." 

I swallowed the lump in my throat and turned back towards Two-Bit. "So, the first step is to teach me how to fight?"

Two nodded. "Yep, and then you gotta learn how to talk smack. Dally can teach you all about that, but if he says anything you're not too fond of, you tell me." 

Two shot a quick warning glance at Dally, who was putting his hands up in surrender. "I won't say anything about her and Soda's relationship, I promise." 

Two-Bit handed me an empty beer bottle. "Just chuck this at a tree." 

I knitted my eyebrows in confusion. "That's it?" 

He nodded. "Go ahead." 

I raised the beer bottle up behind my head and felt an arm grab my wrist and spin me around. Dally shot me his usual look and snatched the beer bottle out of my hand. "Two-Bit, can you please explain to me how chucking a beer bottle at a tree trunk will help her fight?" 

Two sighed. "Dal-"

Dally put his hand in front of Two-Bit's face, not wanting to hear what he had to say. "Lexie, follow me. I'm going to teach you how you learn to fight." 

I followed Dallas reluctantly, Two-Bit following us. "Dally, what the hell are you going to do?" 

Dally turned and gave us an evil smirk. "Just wait. You'll see."

WE STOPPED IN front of the DX and I furrowed my eyebrows. "I'm still confused." 

Dally chuckled. "Once you see this, you won't be." 

We entered the DX and I heard laughing from the back room where Soda and I had our first conversation. Whatever Dally was doing, hit Two-Bit and realization struck across his face. "Dally, don't do that!" 

Dally motioned towards the back room. "Go ahead, kiddo. Go look and see what makes people cold and mean." 

I slowly walked towards the back room and opened the door. Soda and Sandy were kissing, real intimate too. I quickly looked away, a huge pain in my chest. It all got quiet and I was holding back tears. "I-I'm sorry." I choked out the words and slammed the door, running out of the DX.

I heard Two-Bit shout a cuss word at Dallas, and then he took off towards me. I couldn't stop running, and the last time I've ran this fast was when JJ and I were running away from the mental asylum. 

I couldn't see where I was going and I didn't care at the moment. My chest hurt real bad for some reason. I saw lights and a huge honk coming towards me. "Lexie!" I heard a voice shout and push me away from the car. 

I landed with a thud in the grass, someone on top of me. My eyes were looking around wildly. I about got hit by a car. I glanced up at who saved me and a small grin escaped my lips. "James?" 

He chuckled. "You about got killed there. What's got you so upset?" 

He got off of me and sat beside me, playing with the grass in his hands. I took a deep breath and shook my head. "Nothing. I have to get back, Two-Bit is probably searching all over for me." 

James looked a little disappointed. "O-okay. I'll come with you and help you find him." 

I hesitated, but nodded. "Alright. Thank you for saving me, James." 

He gave me a toothy grin. "I'd save you any day." 

I saw Two-Bit's Mickey Mouse shirt in the distance and started chuckling. "There he is." 

He ran towards me and engulfed me in a hug. "Oh Lord, Lexie, I've been looking everywhere! I thought Soc's got to you or something!"

I smiled at his worried state. "I would've been dead if it wasn't for James." 

Two's eyes widened. "WHAT?!"

James chuckled nervously. "She wasn't paying attention and about got ran over by a car. I pushed her out of the way before it got to her though." 

"Thank you so much, James. You're a good guy, you know that right?" Two questioned, that happy gleam in his eyes. 

James waved his hand, dismissing it and started ruffling my hair, pulling me close to him. "When it comes to good people like Lexie, you have to hold them close."

Two bit hummed in agreement. "Lexie and Johnny are probably the two things that could keep the gang together." 

Dally appeared out of nowhere, looking at me. "I know that hurt you, but that's how you get tough, Lexie." 

I nodded my head and glanced down. "Yeah, well in that case I guess I can get tough. Sandy's making it pretty easy." 

Dally ruffled my hair. "Soon enough, Sandy's going to know what a real psycho is like."
