Twenty
Third Person's POV
The Wedding
Y/n is wearing a bridal dress(pic above) and standing in front of an idol, inside a temple. One of the twins went to buy flower garland for the groom and bride while the other one - the groom, is standing in front of Y/n. They are waiting for their parents to finish their pooja around the temple since it's the wedding of their children. Y/n kept on adjusting the dupatta (shawl) of her dress since it kept on falling off. Her small safety pin couldn't hold the heavy work dupatta.
"Here" Her groom helped her with the dupatta by pining with a larger pin he found somewhere. Y/n stood still, watching Prabha, who is standing a few feet away from them. Prabha's facial expression is difficult to read - Y/n couldn't tell what Prabha is having on his mind. She then turned to look at the groom, who finished pining the dupatta, and now placed his hands on both her shoulders and smiled. Another twin is clicking pictures of the bride and groom with a DSLR.
Soon, the prohidhar (priest) arrived and asked them to sit in front of the growing fire, fueled by ghee, inside the bricks arranged in a square. She turned to look at the groom, her going -to be husband, but her husband was looking at his twin, holding a smirk. The other twin looked visibly disturbed by it since he is already sad because of his love failure. He not only has to photograph the wedding moments of the girl he loved, who is soon going to marry her twin, but also have to endure the mocking smirks of his own twin.
He shoved the camera to Prabha's hand and walked away, the parents asked where he was going and he lied that he had to attend a call from the controller office. He walked to the other side of the temple and started to punch a stone wall. Sweat started to break out and dripping from his beard. His eyes red, fist bloody and heartbroken, he slid down leaning on the wall. His eyes clouded his vision. Prabha sat beside him and offered his hand-key and got rejected.
"Go away." Prabha was told angrily.
"Oh come on we can lament together after their marriage bro. After all, we both are love failure. Come on your family is searching. come come." Prabha lifted him and watched him quickly fix his hair and beard, wiped his eyes at the moment and walked, leaving Prabha behind.
"Ada bro, hereafter, we are bros since we share the same broken heart from the same girl. Okay, va?" But Prabha was pushed away lightly by him.
"Where did you went away? You need to work even in your brother's marriage ah?" Twin's mother scolded him and he smiled it away and then continued to click pictures of the 'Yagam'.
"Saara, where is that Bobby pin? I told him to be here already!" Y/n turned her head to ask Saara, who is standing behind her and before Saara could reply, Y/n's mother scolded her.
"Don't talk, be quiet and graceful like a bride!" Even the priest got silent for a second and then continued with his 'slogams'.
Y/n again turned to look at the groom, focused on doing the rituals, without acknowledging what's going on around him.
Then she looked at Prabha. Prabha joined his hands and showed his palms together at her as if he's blessing them. Y/n glared at him.
"Be a beautiful bride and smile! Don't glare. If it's too hot ask Saara to touch up now and then. Y/n look down! Be grateful!" Anybody who's spectating the pre-wedding ritual can tell Y/n really got infuriated. She dropped her head down as if she's sleeping and covered her whole face with her lehenga shawl.
"Now okay va?" Y/N asked too loud enough for a 'bride'. The priest again went silent and this time he talked, "just leave the child be, madam." and went on continuing the ritual.
Only now, the groom called.
"Look here Y/n." She looked up his side and then *click*. He just took a selfie.
Y/n turned around.
"Saara, if that bobby pin doesn't show up here right now! I will take that bike, ride and bring him here by twisting his ears." Y/n talked through her gritted teeth.
"Be patient d. The wedding still has time. He might be stuck in traffic. Don't worry he will show up." Saara said while gently massaging Y/n's shoulders but Y/n shrugged it off.
"When would he come? After I become the mother of two children ah? Gosh! He calls me his friend" Y/n rolled her eyes and turned straight. Her groom leaned on her side and whispered, "Actually that sounds nice."
"What?" Y/n barked, but softly since her mother would shout at her had she heard it.
"the mother of two children part." He chuckled and then sat straight.
"If he couldn't make it to the wedding, he would be early for the reception," Groom said while throwing flowers into the fire, as the priest instructed him. Y/n then looked at Prabha, who started to play games on his phone. She scolded him internally, as she couldn't speak now, she rolled her eyes and turned her gaze to another twin, who is clicking pictures.
He looked up from the camera and at Y/n, understanding that she is looking at him, for a long time. He gave her his best smile, without showing off the sadness and jealousy inside him.
"Are you happy Y/n?" her groom, who is going to become her husband in a minute asked her while taking the 'wedding chain' on his hands, ready to tie on her.
