"Hey, Y/n! What a coincidence!" Prabha stretched his right hand and expected me to shake it. I ignored.
" Pretty much everyone from college is going to their respective homes on this three day leave, so it's not much of a coincidence catching me in the railway station," I said sipping the hot watery tea from the paper cup. I doubt if Prabha heard me clearly because even I couldn't hear my voice in the busy railway station where machines shout unintelligibly in five languages about train information and Samosa sellers loud voices. I thought we were going on the AC bus, but this one bobby pin of a Bobby forgot to book! So here I am, standing in the middle of the platform, besides my train and sipping tea while making Prabha clueless.
I like it when I people, particularly men lose their voice in front of me -- now hold your horses I am not sexist -- All my co-education school days and in my home, my voice was overthrown by that of guys and men, and the bullying during my first years taught me a lot, and this pleasure-seeking is a side effect, but I do not make men lose their voice intentionally. But when they do, especially like the bulky ones like Prabha, I can't help but sip my tea and enjoy it.
But, Prabha is a kind of sweetheart type. He is matured, caring, formal, and friendly while being naughty. He is the bad boy yet a good man that girls crave for. Not the one who uses his fragile masculinity to take advantage of girls - like Arjun Reddy.
"Sorry Y/n, I have a lot of things to tell you. First, I want to apologize. I felt and still feel so guilty, I shouldn't have left you all alone then. Trust me, I wanted to spend that time with you- but something came up --- "
" Shraddha came up" I crushed the little paper cup and tossed it in the green-coloured bucket. I climbed the stairs of the train and walked inside the compartment to find my friends. Saara is sitting on the lower berth, talking with a girl sitting opposite to her. I think she is that girl who talked to me on Praba's phone earlier. Bobby is lying on the upper berth with his bag beneath his head. The train hasn't even started to move yet he already dozed off. Prabha is standing behind me, calling my name. He is following me here, just to apologize. I ignored him.
"Y/n."
I turned to the other side.
"Y/n, if you mind." With that, he shoved me inside our seat and I sat on Saara's laps due to the force he applied on me. I glared at him as he sat down next to the girl Saara has been talking to while making space for other passengers to pass. I must've been blocking the way.
I sat comfortably next to Saara and Prabha placed himself in front of me, smiling.
"Y/n, this is Priya, they also belong to our native. They even know some of our distant relatives," Saara said as she smiled and Priya smiled at me.
"Hi." I nodded at her and looked down, I'm extremely awkward at interacting and socializing with people. Only because of Saara, I learned some names of people, and Priya is now one of them. The only one who came to me first was Prabha, which is for his own purposes. So, I can officially say I have nobody.
"Y/n, I've been trying to tell you something. Well, to be honest, to ask you something." He said and his eyes glowed. The girl beside him smiled at him.
I gritted my teeth. "You only think of me when you need something right?" I shouted and everybody around me got silent. The train started to move slowly. Guess, the rest of the ride would be awkward. Saara let out an awkward smile.
"We're going to attend an engagement function," Priya said when no one asked her.
"We're going regarding Y/n's alliance. A groom's family wish to see her in person." Saara said and I tapped her fists. Prabha quickly looked up.
"That's good. who's the groom?" He asked, his voice is trying to be too normal, but his eyes are not hiding the fact that he is eager to know who's that who wanna marry the fool he only uses for his purposes.
"Arjun Reddy, he--"
"What?? Arjun Reddy?" Priya gasped and her eyes look like they're gonna pop out any second. And Prabha's reaction isn't any less, he and Priya are exchanging glances which makes me more nervous. For heaven's sake, what exactly did this Arjun to the Reddy did before?
"You mean the Arjun Reddy? Are you sure it is him?" She scrolled through her phone vigorously and shoved me her phone once she found whatever she has been trying to find. I looked at the phone, There's a man riding on his Royal Enfield, clean shaved with angry eyes ad well-constructed jaws. That's him. That's Arjun Reddy.
I nodded and she again gasped in disbelief and she became so excited that she even started to tap her feet at the floor. Prabha touched her hand as a sign to make her behave whereas I looked at both of them clueless.
"Y/n, AKA the Angel you have no idea what you're going to have right? " She said staring into my eyes too much that it is getting too awkward. I looked at her blankly.
"Girl you're the luckiest person alive! That man is so intelligent, dedicated, and he is every girl's dream, Darlin!"
"I don't like him," I said bluntly which made Priya's jaw to hang, she raised her eyebrows at me.
Prabha unwinded his headphones and plugged in, leaning on the seat and he closed his eyes. What? Aren't he gonna try to talk to me, until I talk to him?? Huh, his loss. I rolled my eyes.
"Y/N is not interested in marriage now, that is all." Saara is explaining to Priya while all I can focus on is how "cool' this Prabha can be in front of me.
His hair curls, dancing of the mild cold air, his hands relaxed, and his lips whispering something as if he's singing while slowly falling asleep. Cute! Yes, I did think that! Prabha is cute but that doesn't make him any less of a jerk.

"Y/N get the bags soon!" Saara shouted for me from the door, and I followed her with a bunch of bags. Prabha already left carrying Priya's handbag and luggage and is standing on the platform. He didn't even bother to ask me whether I need a hand. I grunted while carrying all the bags on my own. Saara is already carrying three bags. I walked down the stairs of the compartment and suddenly my foot tripped. Oh man, I don't want my nose to be the first thing to land in my native place.
It happened in a matter of seconds, but I remember vividly. I saw Prabha run towards me but my waist was already grabbed and I fell on somebody's shoulder. My bags fell down. I was lifted and made to sit down on a bench.
"You okay?"Arjun Reddy, dressed in casual grey hoodie and Levi's jeans sat down on the ground and checked my feet. I winced in pain when he touched the right ankle. I rotated while falling down and my ankle hurt.
"Don't worry, your mom is an expert in oil massage, isn't she? She even cured arthritis, why not this minor sprain? Come on up." He stood up and took my bags. Thank god I can't even walk carrying them all. I ignored his hands and stood up myself, and Saara is holding my hand now.
His 'saving me' from falling down doesn't clear up his creepy face.
"We're leaving Y/N, don't strain on that foot too much. Take care. I miss you. " Prabha touched my shoulders and I turned to listen him say this. 'I miss you' huh, he must be kidding. We're not even friends. I smirked, watching him leaving with Priya.
I turned around to see red-faced Arjun Reddy. What happened to him? Did an ant bite his stomach?
"Who is he?" he tried to sound as normal as possible but I and Saara knew just by the burning look he's holding on Prabha. If looks can laser cut people, Arjun would've already pierced a hole in Prabha's head.
I can't believe these men.
A/N
Hey, bookworms!! I know the past few chapters are all about Arjun Reddy and not much of Prabha, but I have to clear the image of Arjun Reddy here (which is different from the movie a lot), the following chapters too contain lots of Arjun R. but trust me Prabha won't be silent just like that.
Thank you for supporting this story so far. I'm planning on wrapping this up as soon as possible.
