"They asked me if I knew Casey," Sid explained. The five of you were sitting at the usual lunch spot, near the fountain.
"They asked me that, too," Tatum added, you nodded in agreement. "Hey, did they ask you if you liked to hunt?" Stu asked Billy who was laying down, tossing grapes into the fountain.
"Yeah, they did. Did they ask you?" Billy replied. "Hunt? Why would they ask you if you like to hunt?" Tatum questioned.
"Cause their bodies were gutted," Randy cut in, making you shut your eyes in disgust.
"Thank you, Randy," Billy replied sarcastically.
"They didn't ask me if I liked to hunt," Tatum added.
To which Stu chuckled out," It's cause there's no way a girl coulda killed 'em."
"That is so sexist. The killer could easily be female, basic instinct," Tatum scoffed. "That was an ice pick, not exactly the same thing," Randy corrected.
"Yeah, Casey and Steve were completely hollowed out. And the fact is it takes a man to do something like that," Stu continued.
"Who the fuck could do something like that? It's absolutely disgusting and I hope the killer rots in hell," you spat, venom lacing your words. "Yeah, how do you gut someone," Sidney added.
"You take a knife, and you slit 'em from groin to sternum," Stu explained.
"Hey, it's called tact, you fuckrag," Billy warned.
"Hey, Stu, didn't you used to date Casey?" Sidney asked. "Yeah, for like two seconds," Stu replied.
"Before she dumped you for Steve," Randy cut in. "I thought you dumped her for me?" Tatum added.
"I did, he's full of shit," Stu explained. "I thought we learned that this morning," you mumbled, loud enough for the group to hear.
"Hey, I already said sorry for that. But you guys gotta admit, I was onto something there!" Randy defended himself. You sent him a glare that made him shut up.
"Anyways, are the police even aware you two dated the victims?" Randy added.
"Hey, what're you saying? That– That I killed her?" Stu quizzed. "It would certainly improve your high school q," Randy quipped.
"Not this again," you groaned, rolling your eyes back as far as humanly possible. "Besides, Stu was with me last night," Tatum smirked, earning a "Yeah I was," from Stu, causing a pang of jealousy to flow through you.
Those feelings quickly were brushed off when Randy added to the conversation by saying, "Was that before or after he sliced and diced."
"All right, fuckface. Then where were you last night?" You teased. "Working, thank you," Randy replied.
"At the videostore? I thought they fired your sorry ass," Tatum tagged on. "Twice," Randy smiled as he popped a grape into his mouth.
"Nah, I didn't kill anybody," Stu said in an unusually serious tone. "Nobody said you did,"Billy added.
"Thanks, buddy," Stu mocked. "Besides, it takes a man to do something like that!" Randy impersonated Stu.
"Yo, I'm gonna gut your ass in a second, kid," Stu teased in response. "Tell me something, did you really put her liver in the mailbox? 'Cause I heard that they found her liver in the mailbox next to her spleen and her pancreas," Randy exclaimed in a weird voice.
You groaned as you stood up, "All right. That's enough of this for me, I'm gonna head out, see you guys later?" You asked, earning nods from the group.
As you walked into the school, you could hear Stu cracking a joke about someone's liver. As bad as the timing was, you couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at your friend's comforting personality.
