35. Tell him

Author's pov :

"Dissociative identity disorder, isn't a chemical imbalance. Medications, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and antianxiety medications are commonly prescribed to people with DID. Yet, these medications are used to treat secondary DID symptoms and comorbid conditions, not the DID itself. Dissociative identity disorder can't be cured. Which means you still have DID, the only thing that changed is that you're starting to learn how to deal with things on your own without having the personalities to show up. You're learning how to be a functional multiple. With therapy and time, it will be easier to manage. They're still there, they just won't show up too often."

That's what the psychologist said.

Taehyung strangely felt a slight relief knowing the personalities haven't completely faded away.

The class room door suddenly opened. Taehyung looked at the raven haired boy stepping inside and closing the door behind him.

"I'm sorry, I'm late." Jungkook said as he looked at the teacher, waiting for a sign or an answer to go to his seat.

"This is the first and last time I'm letting you in." The teacher seemed to be in a good mood, otherwise she would've never allowed him into her class.

Jungkook walked towards his seat, stealing a glance at Taehyung who was already staring back at him.

Taehyung blushed madly and quickly looked the other way.

Every time he saw Jungkook, he felt butterflies flying around his stomach. As each day passes by, he fell deeper in love with the younger and he didn't even know when or how to confess his love. Afraid to be rejected.

There was nothing in Taehyung's way, his mother was there to support him, all of the other personalities loved and accepted Jungkook and the opinions of other people didn't really bother Taehyung anymore. The only thing that's holding Taehyung back from confessing his love to Jungkook were his own thoughts.

Jungkook gave him so many signs, but what if Taehyung was just over thinking things? What if Jungkook liked Taehyung in a brotherly way? What if all the things Jungkook did for Taehyung was just to be friendly? Taehyung was thinking too much, which stopped him from confessing, even when he wanted to tell the younger so bad.

As the teacher continued her lesson, Taehyung saw Jungkook stealing glances at him through the corner of his eye.

Taehyung looked back at Jungkook which made the younger smile shyly, blush and look away.

Taehyung smiled and looked out of the window. While being in his own little world, Taehyung startled when the teacher mentioned his name.

"Kim Taehyung, which device do we use to look at the stars?" The teacher asked.

Taehyung wasn't paying attention at all. Even if he knew the answer, the sudden question and the stares made him feel like he forgot how to talk, the words just didn't want to come out.

Jungkook noticed how uncomfortable and nervous Taehyung looked and couldn't help but feel worried.

Everyone looked over their shoulders at Taehyung. The brunette felt so uncomfortable. At that moment, all he wanted to do was to walk out of the classroom, no, run out of the classroom.

He thought he finally could deal with things on his own, but he thought wrong. Because at that very moment, he realised how much he needed one of the personalities to take over and help him out of it, he realised that he never should've prayed and hoped for the personalities to stop showing up.

"Wannabe tough guy not so tough now, huh?" He heard Jackson say from the other side of the classroom.

Some chuckled and some didn't react.

"Repeat what you just said." The brunette suddenly said, glaring daggers at Jackson who had a slight smirk on his face.

"I said, psycho boy who liked to play tough ain't that tough when the teacher asks him a simple question."

The brunette suddenly stood up, which caused his chair to fall backwards. He walked towards Jackson with annoyance and anger boiling up inside him.

"Kim Taehyung! Go back to your seat now!" The teacher demanded, already knowing what was about to happen.

The boy looked at the teacher and smirked. "Taehyung indeed would go back to his seat."

Jungkook stood up, wanting to stop the older from causing any more trouble for himself, but he was too late.

The brunette delivered a harsh punch against Jackson's right cheek, making the boy hit his head with the brick wall next to him.

"Your turn, now show me how tough you are." The boy whispered into Jackson's ear while grabbing the collar of his jacket, pinning him against the brick wall.

Jungkook frowned. "Is that.. V?" He thought as he looked at the rather aggressive boy. "It must be him."

The teacher quickly walked towards the two and stood in between them. "What do you think you're doing!?" She yelled at the brunette.

"First of all, keep your spit in your mouth, thank you." V said as he wiped the spit off of his face. "Second of all, I'm giving him some beatings that his parents should've given him cause obviously raising a kid wasn't something they were good at."

"Out!" She yelled again as she pointed towards the classroom door.

"I'd love to." V said with smug smile as he made his way towards the classroom door.

Before he opened the door, he looked over his shoulder, making some students startle. "Y'all should watch your pretty little mouths before you end up like that asshole over there. How many of you do I have to beat up this year before you all get it?"

"I said out!" The teacher yelled again.

"Calm your tits." V rolled his eyes before walking out of the classroom, leaving the door wide open.

"Come back right now and close the door!" He heard the teacher yell as he walked away.

"Do it yourself. If you can yell that loudly, I'm sure you can also close that door." V said as he walked backwards, smirking at the furious teacher who was standing at the door.

"2 hours detention!"

"First of all, you yell too much. Second of all, detention my ass." And with that, V turned around and continued walking.

"Asshole." V murmured as he walked through the empty hallway, kicking a trash can out of anger. "I should've destroyed his lizard looking headass against that brick wall."

"Taehyung?" He heard a familiar voice call from behind him.

As V turned around, his eyes met Hoseok's.

"What?" V replied coldly.

"Can we like.. talk? I have something to say to you." The blonde said as he nervously scratched his nape.

"Talk?" The brunette's eye color and voice suddenly changed. But Hoseok didn't notice at all.

"The teacher for the class that I should have now is sick so I'm free for this hour, can I please talk to you? We can go sit in the cafeteria if you don't mind."

"Alright" Taehyung agreed as he walked with Hoseok towards the cafeteria.

"Wait, why am I not in class?" Taehyung thought. He just shrugged it off, he knew one of the personalities showed up.

They walked into the cafeteria and as soon as they sat down, Hoseok started talking.

"So, as you might already know, I liked you, a lot. But I've been selfish. Even when I knew Jungkook liked you, I still tried to get with you. And as Jungkook's friend, I shouldn't have done that to him. So I wanted to tell you that, Jungkook loves you. He loves you a lot, more than I or someone else ever will. You're the only one who makes him happy, so please, be with him forever. I know you're probably thinking that I'm weird for saying this, but I've decided to get over you, to move on. Because I know you love Jungkook, and Jungkook loves you, and that I'm the only obstacle between you two. I'm sorry if I made you so uncomfortable when we were together or if I put pressure on you. I just hope, that this won't keep us from being friends."

When Hoseok finished talking, he lowered his head. He knew Taehyung never had feelings for him, so he felt like a fool in front of the brunette.

Honestly, the only thing Taehyung heard was "Jungkook loves you". "So, you're telling me that, Jungkook likes me?"

Hoseok chuckled. "Yes, he does. I guess he didn't tell you yet."

Taehyung felt.. happy? Jungkook likes him? No, he loves him? It felt unreal, but at least now he knew he was never over thinking things. Jungkook showed him how much he loved him, yet he never really noticed, no, he did notice, but he kept denying it.

"I'm sorry for being the obstacle between you guys."

Taehyung let out a sigh and smiled. "Don't apologize. I never saw you as an obstacle and you were never a reason that kept me from confessing to Jungkook. Feelings are just feelings and sometimes you can't control them, so you don't have to apologize."

Hoseok smiled. One question was still bothering him, which was why Taehyung kept changing his behaviour. One time he's so kind and understanding like right now, the other time he's rude and mean.. But the blonde didn't want to ask the same question again. He has accepted the fact that that's something about Taehyung, a part of Taehyung's personal life and he shouldn't put his nose into someone else's business. He learned how to deal with his curiosity and that he should wait until Taehyung decides to tell him himself.

"So, we're friends?" Hoseok said with a broad smile which Taehyung never saw before.

Taehyung couldn't help but smile as well and nodded his head yes.

Hoseok immediately started talking about everything and nothing. He told Taehyung about dumb things he did when he was younger and just random things that made the brunette laugh.

Taehyung noticed that Hoseok really meant what he said. The blonde was so friendly and unlike the first time they've met, things weren't awkward between them at all and Taehyung didn't feel uneasy or uncomfortable.

Time flew by with Hoseok talking. They stood up and walked out of the cafeteria.

"Do you think he'll accept my apology?" The blonde said with an unsure expression.

Taehyung nodded and smiled. "I'm sure he will. If you just explain to him like you did to me and apologize, everything will be alright. Jungkook has a good heart and I'm sure he doesn't hold grudges."

Hoseok smiled, what Taehyung said was a little push to go and apologize to Jungkook. "Thank you, Taehyung. I have class now, please let Jungkook know to meet me at the cafeteria at 4pm. I'll explain everything there." The blonde showed his broad smile once again before waving a goodbye and making his way towards his class.

Who knew Taehyung would ever interact this well with people. Even though it's not something big for someone else, it is for him. The fact that he didn't feel uncomfortable with someone other than his mother or Jungkook made him happy.

As Taehyung walked towards his next class, a teacher suddenly stopped him from walking. He looked over his shoulder and was met by an angry looking woman. "Don't forget, 2 hours of detention when all of your classes are over."

"2 hours of detention?" Taehyung frowned in confusion.

"Stop playing dumb. I'll ask Mr. Lee if you've showed up. If you don't show up at the end of the day, you'll earn 2 more hours which means you'll have 4 hours of detention the next day. You could get a suspension for beating up a student in class AND talking to me in a rude way so you should be happy that I'm going easy on you." And with that, the teacher turned around and walked away.

Taehyung stood there dumbfounded. Then he realised that all he can remember, is until the teacher asked him something. Which means one of the personalities really did show up. And based on what the teacher said, it must've been V.

"Why did he have to beat up someone and be rude towards the teacher." Taehyung thought as he made his way towards class. "Now I have to go and sit in that detention room for 2 hours for something I didn't even do." Taehyung let out a heavy sigh.

As the brunette entered the classroom, his eyes immediately met Jungkook's sparkling ones and yep, there goes Taehyung's heart, completely melting into a puddle as he kept staring at the beautiful boy who was staring back at him.

Now that he knows Jungkook likes him, his heart beats like crazy every time he saw the younger.

He quickly went to his seat next to the window and looked in front of him.

His heart started beating faster and faster as he noticed Jungkook standing up, making his way towards the seat next to Taehyung. "Calm down Taehyung. It's just Jungkook. You even slept with him in one bed why are you being so dramatic about simply sitting next to each other." But that thought didn't help at all, cause the fact that he still has to sleep next to Jungkook tonight, in one bed, made him blush even more.

Jungkook sat down and threw his backpack on the floor. He looked at Taehyung who had his eyes transfixed on the blank classroom wall.

"Are you okay?" The raven haired boy asked worriedly.

"Eh?" That's all that came out of Taehyung's mouth as soon as his eyes met Jungkook's.

"I asked if you're okay."

Taehyung nodded and smiled shyly. "Y-yes, I'm okay." The brunette mentally scolded himself for stuttering.

Jungkook chuckled at how cutely Taehyung was behaving. The older made it too obvious that he was shy and Jungkook tried his utter best to stop himself from pinching Taehyung's blushing cheeks.

Halfway through class, Jungkook remembered Taehyung's behaviour in the previous class.

"Taehyung." Jungkook whispered, making sure the teacher won't hear them talking.

"Yeah?" Taehyung replied, still shy.

"About earlier, I think V showed up."

Taehyung mentally face palmed and scolded himself, he totally forgot to tell Jungkook about what the psychologist told him and that the personalities aren't completely gone.

"Well, it turned out that they didn't completely fade away. I went to my psychologist and she told me that DID can't be cured. Because of all the therapy and time that has passed since I got the disorder, I'm starting to learn how to deal with the disorder and be a functional multiple. They won't show up as often as they used to, but they're still there."

Jungkook nodded his head. "I immediately noticed that it was V who showed up."

Taehyung smiled. The fact that Jungkook knows him that well that he even notices which personality shows up makes him happy.

"Are you glad? That they aren't gone." Jungkook asked. He remembered how Taehyung was crying his eyes out because he thought they've faded away.

"Honestly? I'm more than glad. Like earlier, I couldn't deal with the situation on my own so V helped me out of it. Yes I got in trouble because of him and almost got suspended, but for me, that's much better than having to deal with a situation like that."

The teacher was looking at them so Jungkook just nodded once again and smiled.

The school day ended and Taehyung went to the detention room for his punishment.

Taehyung had told Jungkook about meeting Hoseok at the cafeteria.

Jungkook wasn't sure of what Hoseok wanted to tell him. He let out a sigh and walked through the hallway towards the cafeteria.

As soon as he stepped inside, he noticed the blonde boy sitting at a table next to the window.

Jungkook let out another sigh and walked towards the boy.

As soon as he sat down on the seat in front of Hoseok, the blonde haired boy immediately looked at him and smiled, relieved that the younger decided to come.

"Taehyung told me you had something to say to me." Jungkook said emotionless, not making any eye contact with the boy in front of him.

Suddenly, Hoseok's hands started to tremble slightly. He felt nervous, a feeling of fear started to build up inside him. "What if he won't forgive me?" He thought.

He hid his trembling hands beneath the table and bit his lips. "I'm sorry.." The blonde said quietly, almost whispering.

"What?" Jungkook didn't hear what Hoseok said.

"I'm sorry." Hoseok repeated, this time in a louder tone of voice. "I know I fucked things up between us and I know I was so selfish for ignoring your feelings."

Jungkook just sat there in silence, watching the nervous boy in front of him. He hated to see his friend like this. Yes Hoseok may have fucked up, but he was his friend, no, he was his best friend. Someone who has been there for him through every up and down.

"My feelings got in my way. I did things without thinking twice. I spread those pictures of you and Taehyung. I went out of my way to keep Taehyung away from you. I was everything but a friend to you and I'm genuinely sorry.." Hoseok let out a cracked sigh and looked out of the window. He felt like he would tear up any second if he kept looking at Jungkook.

"I just.. miss you. Ever since I messed up, it feels like everyone isn't the same. I miss you, I miss Namjoon, I miss Yoongi, I miss Jimin, I miss Seokjin. I miss when we used to hang out all six of us, I miss when things were fine between me and you. I miss all of you, I miss us.. I'm so sorry Jungkook. I suck at words, I wish I could let you feel what I'm feeling right now for just a second so you can know for sure how truly sorry I am. I regret everything I did and I totally understand if you can't forgive me. Just please know that if I could, I would turn back time and change the way I behaved."

Jungkook let out a sigh. He was glad Hoseok finally apologized. But he had to know one more thing before forgiving the boy.

"What about Taehyung? Didn't you have feelings for him?" Jungkook asked.

"It's obvious that you both love each other. I've also told this to Taehyung, but I realised that I'm the only obstacle between you guys. Why would I keep acting like a fool trying my best to keep Taehyung away from you when I know you're his happiness and he's your happiness. I've decided to get over him and move on. I want you to be happy. And even if you're not gonna forgive me, I'll always be there for you if you need me." Hoseok said.

He tried his utter best to put his feelings into words, to express the way he truly felt but he felt like it wasn't enough.

On the other hand, Jungkook felt like Hoseok was being genuine. He has been friends with the blonde for years now and he knew how bad Hoseok was at expressing his feelings. Hoseok was never someone who made such big mistakes in the first place. The blonde was always a cheerful, selfless person. He was generous and kind, someone who was more concerned with the needs and wishes of others than with his own. He gave to others without looking for personal gain.

So what he did, still left Jungkook disappointed and shocked. But the younger never holds grudges, especially not towards someone who has done so much for him in the past. Even if Hoseok fucked up, Jungkook didn't forget about all of the other good things the boy has done for him.

"It's okay, let's forget about what happened." Jungkook smiled which made Hoseok's face lit up.

"Now let's plan yours and Taehyung's wedding." Hoseok said enthusiastically.

Jungkook chuckled and blushed. "He doesn't even like me."

Hoseok smirked and nodded. "I see how it is."

"What do you mean?"

Hoseok chuckled. "I won't tell you too much, the only thing I'm gonna tell you is, go and tell him you love him."

Jungkook shook his head. "I'm scared things will get awkward between us. I'd rather stay friends with him then confess my love and become strangers."

"Tell him. Trust me, nothing will end up like you think it will."

Hoseok wanted to tell Jungkook how much Taehyung truly likes him, but he didn't want to tell him something so special. He wanted Taehyung to be the first person to tell Jungkook that he has feelings for him.

"Let him know how you feel." Hoseok said again, trying to convince Jungkook to confess his feelings.

Jungkook hesitated a bit before nodding. "I will tell him."
