New Ships

Ah High school, a place that isn’t as bad as the movies portray it to be. A place where people don’t get shoved in lockers, get wedgies, or swirlies.

A place where perhaps depending on where you live, it can be easy to find people who like the same things as you. For example in Viewmont high school, located somewhere in Utah, United States. An albino and his brother were starting their first day of Junior year and Sophomore year.
The older, was the albino male and his brother (blonde hair and blue eyes) was starting his first year of highschool. Both were nervous but the older brother mainly cocky and refused to show any traces of the small nervous pit in his stomach.

Currently Gilbert, the older brother was standing still with a paper bag full of his lunch. He looked out on the sea of strangers, he began to slowly walk around some of the tables checking out many of the people, judging them and trying to figure out which group was full of at least decent people he could pass the time with until he could move back to Pennsylvania with his old friends.

He was passing a round table filled with at least three people when he saw a girl with dark brown hair, and an odd curl sticking out the side of her head, with a few pins on her dark green hoodie. He recognized those pins immediately.

“Do you like Angels of death?” He asked the girl.

“Yeah.” The girl said in a cold tone.

“Holy shit, how far are you?” By now Gilbert had grabbed an empty chair beside the girl.
“I finished it last night.”
“Oh my God. Sorry it’s just no one at my old school liked anime.”
“Shit, really? That must’ve sucked. Did you get any online friends to express any of it?”
“Yeah on Instagram, I had this one friend name Lovina.”
The green eyed girl felt her eyes go wide, that was her name. The reason why the two didn’t recognize each other is because they didn’t post photos of themselves, more or less they posted quotes, pictures of their dogs, cats, and a for Lovina cooking.
“Nice to meet you Gilbert, I’m Lovina.”
The red eyed male had a look of joyus shock on his face.

“OH MY GOD!” He then hugged the girl.
“Holy shit! Wow. Okay shit I forgot you lived in Utah!”
“I figured dumbass! I can’t believe you didn’t tell me you were moving!”
“I got grounded the day Luddy and I were told.”
“What did you break asswipe?”
“A lamp.”
Behind them, Antonio and Francis were sitting awkwardly wondering if they should interfer and introduce themselves, thankfully they didn’t have to because Lovina remembered about the two assholes beside her.
“Gil, this is my self-proclaimed brother Antonio and his pervert friend Francis.”
“Hey.” Gilbert said.
“Hola.” Antonio answered back cheerfully.
“ ‘Allo.” Francis said.

The group slowly began to get into a conversation, and Francis and Antonio figured out that the like Gilbert. It was a good thing they did because they had the rest of the day sharing classes with him.

Currently Francis and Antonio were sitting in front of him, while he sat in one desk behind him and an empty beside him.

“So Gil,” Antonio said at the end of the groups Chemistry class “How long have you liked Lovina?”

Gilbert felt his face go red as those words came out of his new friends mouth.
“I don’t know we’ve known each other for a bit and some time, I remember we use to hang out as kids then she moved and we talked online and just one day I guess my brain wa like;

‘Oh hey you like this girl now.’ Then I just did.”
“When did it start though amigo?”
“I don’t know, it just happened one day maybe.” He let out a breath “Six months ago.”
“Six months!?” Antonio and Francis said at the same time
“That’s crazy!” Francis said “Does she know?”
“Nope.”
Antonio and Francis looked at each other with blank (possibly agitated) faces then turned back to Gilbert and said.
“You’re telling her.”
“Today.” Francis added.

“Look guys I’m all for doing stupid shit but she doesn’t even like me that well.”

“Are you sure about that?” Antonio asked

“She has been talking about an old friend that she likes.”
“Really?”
“Really. Just do it.”

If Gibert wasn’t struggling to hide the fact he was nervous he was now. At the end of the day Gilbert stood outside the highschool building with Antonio and Francis who were hyping him up.
“Remember if she doesn’t like it doesn’t mean anything major is wrong with you.”  Antonio said
“Not helpful.” Francis said to the green eyed male.

Then they saw the Sophomore girl come out of the building with her younger sister who was with Gilberts younger brother.
“That’s my brother!” He said to the two pointing at his brother who looked a little annoyed talking to the older girl.
“Nice.” Antonio said “Anyway amigo, if your brother can do it. So can you.”
Francis came behind Gilbert pushed him towards the green eyed girl. He looked back at the two who were giving him thumbs up, and encouraging smiles. Though if the truth be told, the two had no idea how this was going to play out.

“Lovi!” The red eyed male said racing up to the younger girl. “I forgot to ask you about your favorite ship for Angels of Death.”
“I don’t really have one.” Lovina said “If Rachel was eighteen then maybe with Zach but she isn’t.”
“Want to know what my favorite ship is?” GIlbert said with a smirk.
“Sure,” Lovina said in a sigh.

“Us.”
The tan girls face became red quickly. She then hit Gilbert on the arm with her plastic red folder.

“Bastard!” She growled.

“What?” Gilbert said smoothly “Don’t ship it?”
“No.” Lovina muttered “I ship it.”

“R-Really?” Gilbert said amazed she wasn’t hiding her feelings.

“Yeah, but it won’t survive any storms, its not strong enough so it will sink.”
“Then I’ll go down with it.”
Lovina looked over at her sister who was still talking with the small potato bastard. She then looked Gilbert dead in the eyes, and narrowed hers.
“Friday night, movies. Eight. Don’t be late potato bastard.”
Gilbert smiled and let out his chuckle that reminded Lovina of a snake with the way it sounded.
“You’ve got it.”

Francis and Antonio stood in shock for a good minute as Gilbert came over with a confident smile on his face.

“And?!” The two said in a desperate need to know what happened.

“We’ve got a date on Friday!”
You know that thing that guys do when they get excited? When they hype up whatever happened, maybe jump in the air, make the “OOOH” sort of sounds and expressions?
Yeah that’s exactly how the two reacted.
