More Explanations
Zoe's POV
Well there are other ways I would love to spend my morning but I don't get a choice. I sure seem to be getting into a lot of trouble lately. But I can simply blame my father for that. I'm sitting at the dinner table with everyone looking at me waiting for an explanation. But I'm not sure if Ashoka would want me to tell them. Or not. I told Alexander about it last night but he has no connection with Ashoka, but Dad and Hera and the original Specters have connections. Maybe they would let me go look for her! Maybe...
"So, you gonna say somethin' or not, Kid?" Zeb asked.
'Zoe relax. It's not anything bad. You got this Babe' Alex encouraged through the force.
'I know. But they had friendships and bonds with Ashoka and my Dad blames himself for what happened to her. There are many ways this could end, most being bad all because I can talk to my Dad's old mentor.' I told Alex through the force with worry.
'The sooner you tell them they sooner we can go cuddle somewhere!' Alex cheered.
"Okay here goes. Dad, Master, I met my Force Guardian." I announced. This is gonna suck!
"Really?" Dad asked shocked. I nodded in response.
"Who is it?" Master asked. My chest felt tight and my breathing was shaky.
"Z relax." Alex murmured lovingly. I nodded and sighed.
"Ashoka, Ashoka Tano. She's my guardian and we've been talking quite often." I answered swiftly, while dreading their responses.
"Ashoka's alive?" Mom asked in confusion.
"Well, I'm not sure." I admitted.
"How do you not know if a person your talking to I alive or not?" Evie observed.
"The force works in strange ways, Eve." Hera told her. Alex moved his hand to my knee and gave it a gentle squeeze of reassurance.
"We have to find out if she's alive, Kanan!" Dad explained in almost a begging manner.
"Hold on Ezra." Mom commanded.
"Sabine is right." Zeb agreed.
"Why can't Zoe just ask Ashoka if she's alive?" Zander asked.
"That's rude for one and two I already tried! She said that it for me to decide. But, I'm not sure what that means. There is only one good way this ends and I'm worried that it will end bad and Dad will fall into depression again and everything will be bad for this crew and the rebellion." I explained while standing up with my hands flat on the table.
"Zoe, everything is going to be fine. We will go to Malalcor and-," Hera tried to smooth but was cut off.
"I'm not risking it. Try and connecting with Ashoka yourselves. I'm not going to help hurt this crew, and that is final!" I state strongly. Then crawl over Alex and storm out of the room.
Alexander's POV
I went after Zoe once I put the rest of the crew at ease. Something else was going on with Z and I would figure out what. I went to look for her which wasn't hard because I could track her down with the force to to our extremely powerful bond. She was in the training room in yoga pants and a sports bra while kicking the crap out of a punching bag. She was panting and her hair was sticking to her sweaty form. I watched her with a loving expression as she worked her butt off.
After a few more minutes of the punching bag I walked over to her as she unwrapped the cloth from her fist. I placed my hands on her wait and nuzzled her ear.
"Alex." Zoe panted while pecking my on the cheek.
"Zoe." I greeted.
"I'm not changing my mind, if that's what your doing here. I won't put lives at stake. You can't change my mind, you know that." She said stubbornly while walking over to the shooting range and turned on the moving targets.
"I just decided to train with you. I'm not gonna try and change your mind." I admitted. Then set up the shooting range next to hers.
"Good." Zoe stated and then started to shoot the targets with ease. I shot my targets easily then put up the blaster and followed Zoe over to the sparing circle. We each grabbed a staff and readied position. We watched each other like a loth-cat watching a loth-rat. Then charged hitting each other's staffs over and over.
Zoe knocked my staff down and then jumped onto my shoulders then used her feet to push me down and point her staff to my throat.
"Nice job, but when you fight Inquisitors your want to target their sabers handle. There have been many inquisitors that have died do to that." I explained to her, while standing.
"Thanks and got it." She nodded. We put the staffs back and then meditated.
Soon we got back to the Ghost and sat on the ramp as the sunset.
Zoe's POV
Alexander and I were sitting on the ramp alone watching the sunset. I leaned against him and he held me.
"What would we do if something happened to the crew and it was just us" I asked. (Spoiler- that is for shadowing)
"I don't know. Maybe take on smuggling or something like that or stay with the rebels. I would let you choose babe. I will follow you to the end of the galaxy to make you happy." Alex admitted softly. (So is this)
"Thank you, Alex." I said gratefully. I shivered slightly as he traced my electricity scar.
"No problem. I love you." He whispered sweetly.
"I love you, too."
This will be the last update for a little bit but I promise I'm not done with this book. Thank you all for the support and patience, I love you all!
