The Van Allen's vs Gordon Walker
>BLOODLUST<
They were loaded into the trunk of a car, and the car began to move. There was barely any room in the trunk for Sam, let alone Alayna and Karoline as well. They were all piled, nearly on top of each other during the thirteen minute car ride. A bag was over their heads, prohibiting Alayna from seeing anything, but she did count the turns and try to hear anything that might help them. After what seemed like hours, the car finally came to a complete stop, and Alayna could hear the doors opening and closing. The light filtering through the bag grew brighter as the trunk opened and they were dragged out and tied down in chairs. The bags were removed and Alayna saw a burly man standing in front of them.
"Don't touch him," She snapped at the man, who'd taken a step towards Sam, his fanged teeth growing longer. He paused to turn to Alayna and cock his head in surprise as he studied her interestedly. Alayna's eyes softened briefly as they flicked to Sam's still, limp form that was tied down to the chair beside her before they returned to glower at their kidnapper. The creature stalked towards her, looming over the small brunette as his top lip curled up in an animalistic snarl.
"Wait! Step back, Eli," A female voice called from behind the man, who reluctantly obeyed her request.
"What the hell?" Alayna snapped her attention to her sister to see her rolling her neck, a grimace on her face. The blonde looked around confused until she saw Sam and Alayna then slowly turned her attention to the woman in front of them. "Who's the chick?"
"My names Lenore," She introduced herself, walking towards them with slow, measured steps. "I'm not gonna hurt you, we just need to talk."
"Really? Could've fooled me, what with Eli's teeth starring right at me," Her only response to Alayna's quip was an amused twitch of her lips before she glanced back at Eli.
"He won't hurt you either. You have my word," She spoke calmly looking between the girls, and Alayna looked over at Karoline before her eyes flicked to Sam again. "He won't hurt the boy either," She promised, and Alayna's eyes returned to hers.
"Your word?" Karoline repeated with a disbelieving chuckle. "Sorry, not sorry. But, I have a thing against trusting Vampires." She spat the word like it was poison.
"We're not like the others," She told the blonde, and Karoline's eyebrows rose in disbelief at her statement. "We don't kill humans, and we don't drink their blood. We haven't for a long time."
"Oh, really?" Alayna quirked an eyebrow, sharing a skeptical look with her sister.
"Notice, you two are still alive," Alayna opened her mouth to retort, but nothing came out. Despite herself, she had no valid response to that.
"Okay, lets say, for arguments sake, we believe you. Shouldn't you be, I don't know, dying of starvation by now." Karoline questioned, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"We found other ways - Cattle blood," She explained.
Alayna's eye widened in realization, "The mutations that we found in the newspaper. That was you?"
"It's not ideal. In fact, it's disgusting, but it allows us to get by," She looked between the two girls steadily, waiting for one of them to respond.
Alayna's eyes narrowed at her, "and how do we know you won't just kill us anyway?" She asked, glancing at Sam and then back at the Vampire.
"Cut that ones bonds," She ordered Eli, nodding at Alayna. "Do it," She repeated when Eli didn't make a move to do anything, begrudgingly Eli went and untied Alayna's bonds. "We'll let you take care of your friend." She jerked her chin at an unconscious Sam. As soon as her ropes were undone, Alayna rose quickly and crossed to Sam's chair, cradling his face between her hands. Karoline looked warily from Lenore and over at Sam and Alayna when Sam let out a moan, his eyes fluttering open to fix on Alayna's.
"Alayna!" He jerked in his seat, looking around wildly. His gaze landed on Karoline then to Lenore, and his eyes instantly narrowed distrustingly. "What's going on?" His eyes moved back to Alayna as she searched his head for a bruise.
"Her names Lenore, the other ones Eli," Karoline answered instead and Sam's eyes flicked to her, before hissing in pain as Alayna found the bruise. "Apparently, they're good little Vamps and only feed on Cattle."
"And you believe her?" He asked incredulously, looking between the two girls.
Alayna shook her head helplessly, "I don't know. I'm starting to. It would explain the mutilations in the Newspaper."
"Back to your seat," Eli ordered, pulling the brunette a bit more roughly than necessary back into her seat.
"But why?" Sam questioned, his gaze fixing on Lenore, who was still standing there stoically with her arms folded.
"Survival," She responded simply. "No deaths, no missing locals, no reason for people like you to come looking for people like us, we blend in. Our kind is practically extinct. It turns out, we weren't quite as high up on the food chain as we imagined."
"Life's full of disappointments, isn't it?" Karoline taunted, tilting her head at them.
"Why are we explaining ourselves to these killers?" Eli exploded furiously, causing the three to turn their eyes on him.
"Eli..." Lenore began warningly.
"We choke on cow's blood so that none of them suffer. Tonight, they murdered Conrad, and they celebrated," Eli glared between the three of them.
"Eli, that's enough," Lenore hissed at the man, who finally backed off.
"Yeah, Eli, you heard the woman. That's enough." Karoline mocked earning a sharp glance from Alayna.
"What's done is done," Lenore continued rationally. "We're leaving this town tonight," She informed them glancing at Sam and then between the girls.
"Then why did you bring us here? Why are you even talking to us?" Sam asked.
"Believe me, I'd rather not, but I know your kind. Once you have the scent you'll keep tracking us. It doesn't matter where we go. Hunters will find us," She elaborated without really giving a straight answer.
"So what? You're asking us not to follow?" Alayna realized, and Lenore confirmed her words with a nod.
"We have a right to live. We're not hurting anyone," She reasoned with them.
"Right, so you keep saying, but give us one good reason why we should believe you," at Sam's words, Lenore leaned over him, smiling knowingly.
"Fine. You know what I'm going to do?" Alayna gripped her chair tightly as she realized what she was probably about to do. Alayna wriggled her hand, attempting to get it out of the rope. "I'm going to let you three go," Alayna stopped her struggling as both her and Karoline stared at her in shock.
"Say what, now?" Karoline rose her eyebrows in complete shock.
"Take them all back. Not a mark on any of them," Lenore ordered Eli, and then they were being dragged out of the house again with a bag over each of their heads.

"Karoline and Alayna walk? No, not when they have their car," Dean was saying as Karoline pushed open the motel door to let herself, Sam, and Alayna in. They looked up to see Gordon and Dean on the other side of the room, a map spread out on the table in front of them. "Where've you all been?"
"Careful there Dean-o, If I didn't know any better I'd say you were worried about me," Karoline flashed him a teasing smirk, it immeadiatly dropped when his expression didn't change. She sighed, "Care to join us outside," her eyes flicked to Gordon then back to Dean. "Alone."
"You mind chilling out for a couple of minutes?" Dean questioned, turning to face Gordon as he did. Gordon merely shook his head and shrugged in consent. Dean got up from his chair and followed the other three out the door and to where the Impala and Buick were park.
"So, we were thinking, maybe we should re-think this case." Alayna began the conversation, looking up at Sam then back at Dean.
"What are you talking about? Where were you?" He asked, confusion lining his words as he looked between the three.
"In the nest," Sam answered, and Dean stared at him in disbelief.
"You found it?" His voice sounded almost excited, and slightly impressed.
"Not exactly," Alayna hesitated, toeing the ground with the tip of her shoe. "They, maybe, sorta, kinda, kidnapped us."
"Well, how'd you get out? How many did you kill? Dean fired the questions at them.
"That's the kicker," Karoline spoke up, meeting his gaze. "None. They kinda just let us go."
"All right, well, where is it?" Dean asked. Karoline's eyebrows shot up as he completely disregarded anything they had to say about the Vampires.
"We were blindfolded," Karoline answered, pursing her lips to bite back her snarky comment.
"We went over a bridge that was around fifteen minutes from here, but I don't think we should hunt them," Alayna finished quickly and saw him stiffen.
"Why not?" Dean asked in disbelief.
"I don't think they're like other Vampires. I don't think they're killing people," Sam explained for her and Dean turned to him in disbelief.
"You're joking, right?"
"You didn't see them, Dean," Karoline said, trying to stop the fight she knew was coming. "I think we should just forget about them and leave them be. I mean, they aren't doing any harm."
"So, you just want to 'forget it ever happened'?" He asked, his tone making it clear he wasn't talking about the Vampires anymore.
Karoline shook her head at him, "Really? Now, Dean? You want to do this, now?" Dean merely shrugged, as if saying 'you tell me' making Karoline scoff, and turn away from him.
"Where did this conversation just go?" Alayna asked confused, turning to her sister and Dean, Sam's expression about the same. Karoline didn't say anything, just pressed her lips together and stared at the concrete below her feet.
"Nothing, it doesn't matter." Dean brushed it off quickly, getting back down to business. "Look, if what you're saying is true, how do they stay alive or undead? Or whatever the hell they are?" He continued.
Alayna glanced between her sister and Dean warily for a moment before deciding to just let it slide. "The cattle," She explained. "They said they've been living off the Cattle blood."
"And you all believed them?" Dean asked incredulously.
"Look at us, Dean," Sam told him, throwing his arms out to the side. "They let us go without a scratch."
"Wait, so you're saying-" Dean's mouth worked as he tried to come up with words to explain what he just heard. "No, guys. No way. I don't know why they let you go. I don't really care. We find them, and we waste them," Dean started passed them, but Karoline grabbed his arm, forcing him to stop.
"Why?" She shook her head at him. "Why do we have to kill these ones, they aren't doing anything wrong."
"What part of vampires don't you understand, Kare?" Dean's question held an edge of anger. "If it's Supernatural, we kill it, end of story. That's our job." Karoline scoffed at his words, shoving his arm out of her grip roughly.
"No, Dean, that's not our job. Our job is hunting evil," Karoline's voice began to rise too.
"She's right," Alayna agreed. "If these Vampire aren't killing anyone, they're not evil." Dean scoffed this time.
"Of course they're killing people. That's what they're kind does. They're all the same. They're not human, okay? We have to exterminate every last one of them."
"No, Dean, I don't think so, all right? Not this time," Sam stammered, trying to convince his brother.
"Gordon's been on those Vamps for a year. He knows," Karoline rose her eyebrows at him.
"Gordon?" Sam asked in disbelief and Dean nodded. "You're taking his word for it?"
"That's right," Dean agreed without shame.
"Listen, Axel told us that he's bad news," Karoline tried to interject, but Dean only turned his eyes on her incredulously.
"You mean your cheating ex-fiance," Dean spat the words harshly causing Karoline to flinch back a bit. "No thanks, I'll go with Gordon."
"Right, cause Gordon's such a good friend," Sam sneered at his brother. "You don't think I can't see what this is."
"What're you talking about." Dean snapped.
"He's a substitute for Dad, isn't he? A poor one," Alayna's eyes widened at Sam's words.
"Shut up Sam," Dean's voice contained carefully hidden fury, and he turned away from the three to start heading towards the motel room.
"Not even close, Dean, not on his best day," Sam went on.
"Sam, just..." Alayna began tiredly, rubbing at her head as she felt the headache already forming in the back of her skull.
"No, Alayna," Sam was furious now. "You slap on this big fake smile, but I can see right through it 'cause I know how you feel, Dean. Dad's dead, and he left a hole, and it hurts so bad you can't take it away. But, you can't just fill up that hole with whoever you want to. It's an insult to his memory,"
"Stop it," Karoline tried this time, but neither listened.
"Okay," Dean agreed hoarsely, he whirled around and punched Sam clear across the face, making one of Alayna's hands to fly up to hover in front of her mouth in shock, while Karoline took a step back wide eyed.
Sam straightened, holding a hand to his bruising cheek before facing Dean again. "You can hit me all you want. It won't change anything."
"I'm going to that nest," Dean spoke determinedly, ignoring Sam's words. "You three don't want to tell me where it is. Fine. I'll find it myself," He stalked back to the motel room. Karoline looked over at Sam and Alayna before following after Dean, hearing Sam and Alayna follow. They entered the Motel room to find it void of anyone. "Gordon?"
"He went after the Vampires," Alayna realized, carefully hiding her growing fury.
"Probably," Dean agreed frustratedly, but his anger had ebbed.
"Guys, we have to stop him." Alayna nodded in agreement to Sam's words.
"Really? Cause I say we lend a hand," Dean snapped back, turning to face them.
"Dean, just trust us on this one, would you? They're different from the other Vampires we've run into," Karoline reasoned with him, and he seemed to consider it briefly.
"Yeah, we'll see," He grumbled before holding out his hand to Sam. "I'll drive. Give me the keys."
Sam gestured to the table where he had left the keys, only to pause when they weren't there. "He snaked the keys."
"I guess we'll just have to take my car," Karoline smirked at the thought jangling her keys for emphasis. "Unless you want to hot-wire baby?" Two minutes later, and the girls were leaning against their car while they waited for Dean to finish hot-wiring his car, amused completely as he angrily sparked two wire together.
"I can't believe this. I just fixed her up, too," The engine reeved, and he set down the wires, turning to Karoline and Alayna. "So, the bridge, is that all you got?"
"It was about four and a half minutes from the farm," Alayna told him confidentially.
"How do you know?" Dean questioned, and Alayna rolled her eyes knowing he was just arguing to argue now.
"I counted." She told him easily, before moving around to get into the car.

They hurried up the farm steps and in the front door, which, surprisingly, was unlocked. Inside, Lenore was tied to a chair with Gordon standing next to her with a long, wickedly sharp looking knife that was coated with a dark red, gooey liquid. Dead man's blood.
"Sam, Dean, Girls, come on in," He greeted them like they were old friends that had come to join him.
"Gordon, what's going on?" Dean asked, his voice containing uncertainty and wariness.
"Just poisoning Lenore here with some Dead man's blood," Gordon informed the four matter-of-factly. He turned to the woman that was tied up beside him. "She's gonna tell us where all her friends are, aren't you. Want to help?"
"Look, man-" Dean started, shifting uneasily.
"Grab a knife," Gordon interrupted him brusquely, gesturing to the table. "I was just about to start in on the fingers," He drew his blade across Lenore's arm, and she let out a choked gurgle.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hey, lets all just chill out, huh?" Dean tried to diffuse the situation, but Gordon wasn't having it.
"I'm completely chill," He told them with an eerie calm about him.
"Gordon, just drop the knife and let's talk about this before we do anything stupid," Karoline took a step towards him as she spoke, but Dean put an arm in front of her waist, stopping her.
"It sounds like it's Kare here who needs to chill," Gordon didn't take his eyes off of her as he spoke to Dean.
"Just step away from her, all right?" Alayna spoke tensely from where she stood next to Sam, and, surprisingly, Gordon heeded her words.
"You're right," He threw the knife down on the table and Alayna narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "I'm wasting my time here. This bitch will never talk," He picked up a black cover from the table and unsheathed a machete. "Might as well put her out of her misery. I just sharpened it, so it's completely humane."
Alayna quickly slipped through the other three and walked towards him, "There's no way you're killing her," She snapped at him, jerking back when his blade knicked her cheek. She let out a hiss of pain, reaching her hand up to touch the wound, pulling back her hand she saw blood painted on her fingers.
Gordon's eyes narrowed as the wound slowly closed up, "What are you?" He lowered the knife to her chest. Alayna quirked an eyebrow at him, dropping her gaze to the knife then back to him with a snort. Like that would do anything.
"Back off," Sam went to go take a step forward but Dean stopped him with a hand on his chest.
"Gordon, let's talk about this." Dean earned his attention as he slowly walked towards him.
"What's there to talk about?" He questioned in something close to confusion. "It's like I said, Dean - no shades of Grey."
"Yeah, I hear you," Dean agreed with him, but the way he looked at Gordon was different now. Dean was regarding him as if he were someone who'd just escaped from an asylum. "And I know how you feel."
"Do you?" Gordon asked rhetorically.
"The Vampire that killed your sister deserved to die, but this-" Deann broke off as Gordon began chuckling darkly.
"Killed my sister," Gordon echoed bitterly. "That filthy fang didn't kill my sister. It turned her. It made her one of them, so I hunted her down, and I killed her myself." Karoline's eyes widened as her mouth formed and 'o' of shock, while Alayna blinked rapidly at him, trying to process the information.
"You did what?" Dean asked dumbly, not believing that Gordon could do something like that.
"It wasn't my sister anymore. it wasn't human," The knife was removed from Alayna's chest as Gordon walked towards Dean. "I didn't blink, and neither would you."
"You knew?" Karoline realized, the knowledge making her even more furious. "You knew that they weren't hurting anyone, and yet you were still going to kill them. You really don't care?"
"Care about what? A nest of Vampires suddenly acting nice, taking a little time out from sucking innocent people, and we're supposed to buy that?" Dean glanced between Gordon and Karoline, unsure. "Trust me, it doesn't change what they are, and I can prove it," Karoline had a split second to be confused before Gordon grabbed her arm tightly, taking her off guards, and he drew the knife across her skin, creating a thin line of blood. She hissed in pain and surprise at the sudden pain, and Gordon pressed the knife to her throat, forcing her to walk backwards towards Lenore.
"You son of a bitch," Dean pulled out his gun, cocking it. "Let her go," He demanded as the two reached Lenore. "Now!" He snapped as Gordon didn't release the blonde.
"Relax," Gordon told him, still remaining completely calm. "If I wanted to kill her, she's already be on the floor. Just making a little point," Karoline looked down to where Lenore was looking up at her bleeding arm. Gordon's grip tightened on her arm, causing blood to drip down onto her cheek. She gasped as another drop hit her cheek, and then her fangs came in. She hissed inhumanly up at her arm, and Karoline swallowed hard.
"Hey!" Alayna snapped, and Karoline glanced at her briefly to see her eyes flicking from Lenore to Karoline uncertainly.
"Think she's so different? Still want to save her? Look at her?" Karoline's eyes dropped to Lenore's wide, fanged mouth gaping up at her bleeding cut. "They're all the same - evil, bloodthirsty."
"No," Lenore turned away from the blood. "No," She repeated, her whole figure seeming to tremble.
"You hear her, Gordon?" Sam pointed to the woman in the chair, and Karoline carefully pushed the blade away from her neck.
"It's over," Alayna told him as he took a step back from both Lenore and Karoline. Dean instantly pulling Karoline over to him, protectively.
"Sam, Alayna, you mind getting her out of here?" Dean asked, jerking his chin at the Vampire and Sam and Alayna came forward, Sam untying her and picking her up. Gordon came forward, and Dean raised his gun again and Karoline grabbed the knife from the table. "Gordon, I think you and us have got some things to talk about,"
"Get out of my way," Gordon commanded the two, but neither moved.
"Sorry," Dean apologized without any real feeling behind it.
"You can't be serious," Gordon spoke in disbelief.
"I'm having trouble believing it, too, but I know what I saw," Dean glanced down at Karoline as he spoke, but she kept her eyes on Gordon. "If you want those Vampires you got to go through me," Gordon sighed heavily, and stuck his knife into the wood of the table.
"Fine," He agreed, and Karoline cautiously set her knife down as well, eyeing him skeptically. Dean discharged his gun, and went to put the ammo in his pocket.
Karoline's eyes widened, "Dean." On instinct, she stepped in front of him as he put the ammo away, and in one smooth motion Gordon was in front of her and backhanded her across the face, sending the blonde sprawling to the ground. He promptly got punched in the face by an infuriated Dean. Karoline spun on the floor to look up as Gordon grabbed the knife off the table and went after Dean. Karoline stood to her feet kicking the back of Gordon's knees, he let out a cry dropping the knife, allowing Dean to swing him into the wall.
"What are you doing, man?" Gordon attempted to reason with Dean, who glared at him. "You doing this for a fang? Come on, Dean, we're on the same side here," They were at a stalemate with Dean's hands gripping Gordon's shoulder's tightly, and Gordon's hands gripping Dean's in return.
"I don't think so, you sadistic bastard," Dean replied. Karoline snatched the knife off the table and moved silently to stand behind Gordon, nodding to Dean. Before he could do anything, Gordon's elbow came up and bashed Dean's face, causing him to stumble back, dazed for a moment. Gordon used the moment to slam his foot into Dean's gut and send him flying backwards.
"Hey!" Gordon turned at Karoline's yell, and she swung at him, only to have him catch her fist mid swing. In turn, she used the reverse momentum to bring her knee up and drive the air from his lungs. He jerked back, coughing, releasing her wrist in the process. He swung at her with a right hook, which she evaded just in time, grabbing his arm. She turned and slammed her elbow into his chest, making him stumble back into another coughing fit. Karoline let out a short yelp as her legs were kicked out from underneath her, which caused her to hit the ground hard on her back. He turned back to Dean from where he was standing above the blonde as she gasp raggedly for air.
"You're not like any of them," He told Dean, glaring harshly at the girl on the floor before facing Dean again. "You're a killer like me."
"No, he's not," Karoline swung out her leg, catching Gordon's ankles in the process and knocking him to the ground with a thud. Dean was on top of him in a heartbeat, punching him repeatedly before dragging him up and throwing him into the mirror, making the glass shatter. He flipped him around, and Gordon tried to fight back, but Dean grabbed his arm, which was raised in a weak attempt at a punch, and pushed it back down. Dean regarded him for a moment before punching him again. Karoline, in that time, had regained her breath as he put Gordon in a deadlock and ran him into the wall as they walked towards the chair Lenore was once tied up in.
"Oh, sorry," Karoline let out a breathy laugh at that. He sat Gordon down in the chair and tied him up as Karoline stood and brushed herself off. "You know, I might be like you or I might not. But, you're the one that's tied up right now." Dean finished tying him off before meeting Karoline's gaze.
"Alright," She spoke up awkwardly, clapping her hands together. "As much as I love beating the shit out of people, I'm gonna go find Sam and Alayna. So... yeah," she trailed off awkwardly, turning on her toes to head out of the barn.
"You're avoiding me," Dean's words made her stop, and she silently cursed herself.
"What? No!" She whrled back around to face him. "I... I am just trying help my sister-"
"Kare..." Dean cut in tiredly and her eyes flicked up to meet his. "Can we talk?" Karoline let out a sigh of defeat coming back over to sit down in the bench beside him. "I can't forget," He admitted. "I tried, and I can't."
"Come on, Dean," Karoline said tiredly. "Just pretend like I was some chick you picked up at the bar-"
"But you're not, you're you," Dean cut in intensely and Karoline looked away from him not knowing what to say. "I can't just pretend it never happened when I have to look at you everyday. I can't... and I don't want to."
Karoline finally met his intense green eyes, "Dean, I can't do this. You hurt me," this time it was Dean who looked away from her. "You really did. And I spent years wondering what I did wrong and why I wasn't good enough. Why I wasn't worth more than all those other girls."
"You are," Dean cut in intensely. "I'm sorry." Dean searched her face, willing her to believe him.
"I forgive you Dean, I do. But, that's the thing. The old Karoline wouldn't have forgiven you, she would've smacked me and said 'what the Hell are you doing'?" Karoline shook her head, giving out an incredulous laugh. "I hate the way that this has made me feel... And I know it sounds like I'm just making a million excuses, but... I just can't do this right now." She got up and left, this time Dean didn't stop her.
Daylight came slowly, and after what seemed like ages, Karoline finally came back with Sam and Alayna through the door to stand next to Dean in front of the still tied up Gordon. "We miss anything?" Alayna asked rhetorically, fixing her shorts as she took in the unconscious hunter in the chair.
"Eh, not much," Dean answered, and Sam scoffed in disbelief as he took in Dean's beat up face which was a lot worse compared to Karoline's. "Lenore get out?"
"Yeah, all of them did," Sam emphasized, glaring at Gordon, who's jaw tightened as he said that.
"Then, I guess our work here is done." Dean spoke to Gordon, who glowered at him.
"So Gordie," Karoline leant forward with her hands on her knees and smirking tauntingly at him. "How ya doing? Got take a leak yet?" He didn't answer just scowled at the blonde, she only smiled back at him as she straightened up.
"All right," Dean took over. "Well, get comfy. We'll call someone in two or three days, have them come out and untie you," Dean slammed the knife into the wood a ways behind Gordon.
"Or, you know, never?" Alayna offered with shrug.
"I kinda like that idea." Karoline agreed and they both smirked, high fiving.
Sam shook his head at the two, before turning to Dean, "Ready to go, Dean?"
"Not yet," He faced Gordon, looking almost bashful. "I guess this is goodbye. Well, it's - it's been real," And just like that he sent an uppercut to Gordon's chin, sending him back in the chair with a painful thud.
Karoline sucked in a sharp breath, "right in the kisser."
"Okay. I'm good now. We can go," Dean came back over to the four, and the two girls let out a laugh at his smug grin as they followed the boys out of the farm. Karoline was sitting in the passenger seat of the Buick as Alayna stitched up her arm with the kit that they kept in the backseat. "Sam," Both girls glanced up to to see Sam and Dean by the Impala.
"Yeah?" Sam turned to look at his brother.
"Clock me one," Karoline let out a quiet snort of amusement while Alayna grinned at Dean's attempt to make nice.
"What?" Sam asked, dubiously.
"Come on, I won't even hit you back. Let's go," Sam glanced over at the two girls who in turn pretended like they weren't just eaves dropping, Karoline letting out a hiss of pain as Alayna tied the string, cutting it at the end.
"No," Sam answered as if it were the most obvious response in the world.
"Let's go. You get a freebie. Hit me. Come on," Dean readied himself, and Sam just waved a hand at him, scoffing at his request.
"You look like you just went twelve rounds with a block of cement, Dean. I'll take a rein-check," Karoline flexed her arm when Alayna finished wrapping the bandage around it and hopped out of the seat.
"If you won't do it I will." Karoline teased as she made her way over to the drivers side. Dean glared at her, Karoline smirking back, and despite himself Dean found himself cracking a small smile.
"I wish we never took this job. it just jacked everything up," Dean spoke as he and Sam went around to each side of the Impala.
"What are you talking about?" Alayna asked, confused.
"Think about all the hunts we went on, our whole lives. What if we killed things that didn't deserve killing, you know? I mean, the way Dad and Tom raised us,"
"Dean, after what happened to Mom and Hannah..." Sam began hesitantly.
"They did the best they could." Alayna continued for him, nodding.
"I know they did, but maybe they weren't perfect, and the way they raised us to hate those things - and, man, I hate them. I do. When I killed that Vampire at the mill, I didn't even think about it. Hell, I even enjoyed it,"
"But you didn't kill Lenore," Karoline pointed out, and he glanced at her with sorrow in his gaze.
"No, but every instinct told me to. I was gonna kill her. I was gonna kill them all," Dean admitted and the other three went silent. Finally Sam spoke up.
"Yeah, Dean, but you didn't, and that's what matters," Sam told him confidently.
"Yeah, cause you're all a pain in my ass," the mood instantly lightened as Sam and Karoline laughed at his words.
Alayna gasped over dramatically, a hand on her chest, "You know you love us, why else would you keep us around." Dean didn't answer, a smile on his face as he got into his car. "He so loves us." Alayna repeated to Karoline.
"Oh yeah, defiantly" She nodded, a smile breaking across her lips as they got into the Buick.
