***

"Might take centuries, might only take a few weeks. But, in the end hell will burn away your humanity. Every hell-bound soul turns you into us. You can count on it."

"There's no way of saving me from the Pit, is there?" Dean realized, his face melting into a look of defeat.

***

"Hey, speaking of downstairs... what's it like down there?"

"What, Hell?" She asked.

"Yeah," Karoline said with a nod, trying to appear casual, but her heart sped up just thinking about it.

She looked curiously at the blonde. "That's right. Your boyfriend booked a one-way ticket with that deal. He's not gonna like it, Kare. And, um, judging from the trouble he's caused, I don't think he'll be getting the presidential suite." She looked at Karoline with what seemed like sympathy in her eyes.

***

"And if you let us, there's something in it for you," She approached them, smiling genuinely.

"What could you possibly-" He started, his face twisting in disgust.

"We can help you two and Karoline save Dean," He answered.

***

"What are you doing here?" She whispered, turning her head away from him as she struggled to keep all her emotions at bay.

"I'm here to help you." He admitted, taking a step forward. He couldn't deny how much it hurt him when she took a step back, away from him.

***

365 Days. The count down to the day Dean was supposed to go to Hell hung over the four hunters like a dark shadow.

***

All was still and silent as Dean slowly approached his other self. Suddenly Dream Dean's eyes shot open, but this time they were solid black.

The demonic Dean sat up straight, "You can't escape me, Dean. You're gonna die. And this? This is what you're gonna become!"

***

"So, this is fun for you? Killing Dean over and over again?" Sam snapped, restraining himself from shoving the stake in his neck right then and there. "Taking Alayna and Karoline."

"One, yes. It is fun." The Trickster admitted. "And two? This is so not about killing Dean. This joke is on you, Sam. Watching your brother die, every day? No one there to pick you up? Forever?"

***

But, with the Devils gate now open.

***

We're out," He grinned widely at his own words. "We're free. Thanks to you, my kind are everywhere. I am legion, for we are many. So me, I'm just celebrating, having a little of fun,"

***

Two demons who won't leave them alone,

***

"She wanted to wait until Azazel was dead and gone." Alayna took in a deep breath and she took in all the information, nodding silently. "'Layna, you and Sam are supposed to rule over the Demons. There're a lot who want you dead."

"Thank you, but-" She broke off as she swallowed hard. "But, I don't need your help. Just... J-just leave me alone." Her voice was barely above a whisper as she turned away from him to head inside.

***

Some ghosts from their pasts

***

"Maybe I missed you, is that an acceptable reason?" He rolled his eyes at her response.

"What kind of game are you playing?" He asked, leaning forward with his eyes narrowed, trying to figure her out.

"Why will you play with me?" She asked, leaning forward just as he did, her eyes lighting up with childlike excitement.

"I don't know," Sam shrugged. "How am I supposed to play if I don't know the rules."

She bit her lip, "No, rules, Sammy. Don't you remember? No, rules."

***

"Bad day?" Dean looked over to see said brunette leaning against the wall of the bar.

Dean scoffed, returning his attention to his keys, "Bad life," He corrected and she snorted in amusement. "I heard you were on the loose."

"What's the matter?" She asked, tilting her head at him tauntingly. "Jealous I spent the day with Sam?"

"I don't do jealous. Not with you, not anymore." Dean regarded her with intense green eyes, not after what she did to him.

***

"The three of us, together, it's just like old times. The brother who loved me too much," She shifted her sharp brown eyes back over to meet Sam's. "And the one that didn't love me enough.

Dean dropped his hand to his side, turning back to face the witch and his brother, "And the evil, slut, witch who only loved herself."

"What happened to you Dean?" She asked, and he rolled his eyes. "You used to be so sweet and kind."

"Oh, that Dean died a long time ago." He smirked at her.

She pursed her lips, looking him over again before her eyes rested on his green ones, "Good. He was a bore."

***

And the big, bad Lilith wanting Sam and Alayna dead

***

"She really, really wants Sam and Alayna's intestine on spikes," Ruby but in, looking passed them at Sam and Alayna, the latter hugging herself uncomfortably. "Guess, she see's them as a threat."

***

They may have more to worry about than Dean's impending fate.

***

"I think you and Karoline should come down here," Alayna looked over at Karoline before she nodded.

"We'll be there soon." Alayna promised and snapped the phone shut as soon as she heard the dial tone.

***

"The community is still reeling from the tragedy that happened just a few hours ago. Authorities believe a gas main ruptured..." Dean sat down on the bed beside Sam, looking pale as he stared at the TV as the picture of the people they'd been with not three hours ago started to flash on the screen as the reporter continued her news. "Causing the massive explosion that ripped apart the police station and claimed the lives of everyone inside.

***

Can they save him before it's too late?

***

"Well, there's gotta be something. There's gotta be some way, whatever it is, I'll do it." Sam bargained, trying to grasp what the demon was saying. Dean grabbed him again, holding him. "Don't, Dean! I'm not gonna let you go to hell, Dean!" Sam shouted, breaking free and pushing his brother away.

***

"You know I love you..." He said, and Karoline pulled away, nodding her head.

"Yeah..." Her voice broke, barely comprehensible as the tears spilled down her cheeks. "Yeah, I know." She whispered.

***

"Right, so you have us. Let Dean go." Alayna tried, looking up at him.

"Silly goose. You wanna bargain, you have to have something that I want," He tutted. "You don't." He took a step back.

***

This is season three, let the count down begin.
