Matt left the library feeling sick, he was going to die and there was nothing he could do.

"I can't die, I know if I die the past Matt will take my place but I don't want to die," he told himself. "They're still so much I want to do, I'm finally with people who make me happy, wait, what am I going to tell the others?"

Matt was panicking, what was he supposed to tell everyone?

"I can't tell them, I just can't, it would interfere with them mission."

That was when Matt felt someone shaking him, he woke up to see Pedro, he looked around and noticed that they were in front of the lodge.

"Wake up, Matteo." Pedro spoke as he left the car to go inside.

"Uh? what's going on?" Matt left the car as he rubbed his eyes.

"Well we're all going ice skating, we stopped here so you could get some rest." Richard spoke.

"What, no I'm fine, let me go with you all." Matt knew that if he was going to die then he might as well spend it with people who care about him.

"Matt it's best if you go get some rest, I don't need you fainting on us."

"Please, I just took a nap in the car and I'm feeling much more energized, please let me go with you guys," Matt begged, Matt learned that one of Richard's weaknesses was saying no to the five, it could be because they all grew rather close during the time they lived together.

"Fine, and if you're still feeling tired let me know, okay?."

"Okay."

"Hurry up you two, we're burning daylight!" Scarlett yelled as she came back outside, running towards the car.

"It's only 12 am Scar, I'm sure we have enough time." Richard spoke.

"12 am, we gotta get there quick, come on let's go let's go!"

"Can we leave her here?" Scott spoke as he walked outside with Jamie and Pedro.

"Well fuck you!" Scarlett growled making an unkind gesture.

"Fuck you!" Scott respond making the same gesture,

"Hey hey, that's enough!" Richard shouted as he tried to calm the two down as they cursed each other out. Matt was smiling at the scene, it was rather common for the five to get into an argument at least once and it was always up to Richard to separate them, it was rather enjoyable for the others to watch and even got some laughs out of them.

'I'm going to miss this.'

Once Scott and Scarlett calmed down they all got into the car to go ice skating which they've only done twice. Once they arrived they noticed that the area was just a frozen lake with benches around it and a stand to rent out the skates. They rented their skates and got on the ice, Pedro and Richard were having a bit of a tough time due to the fact that they haven't done this in months.

"I can't believe you guys still don't know how to ice skate, especially you Richard." Jamie teased them as he smirked, Jamie and Scott knew how to skate since they always did it in their free time before meeting the five.

"For your information, it's been a few months since I did this," Richard argued, almost falling in the process.

"Come on it's easy." Matt spoke, skating with ease.

"Weird, if I remember, just a couple months weren't you falling on your butt every time you tried to skate?" Scott asked with suspicion.

"Maybe I just got better."

"Alright." Jamie skated closer to Matt and looked straight into his eyes. "Don't use your powers while skating."

There was a look in Matt's eyes, he then came back when all of a sudden he started to struggle.

"Mentiroso!" Pedro shouted in Spanish with annoyance, almost falling down in the process.

"So I used my powers to help me ice skate, big deal."

"Oh come on guys, it's not that hard," Scarlett spoke as she skated near them.

"Said the girl whose parents took her skating almost every week." Scott muttered under his breath.

"Actually I'm a little rusty myself, now if you boys excuse me." Scarlett started picking up wind as she started skating, she was then able to make a salchow. (had to look up skating tricks just for this, it's an edge jump if you're wondering)

"Rusty uh." Jamie scoffed.

"I know right, I almost did a loop back there." Scarlett smirked, fully aware of what she was saying.

Lohan and Vanessa decided to join them, noticing that Pedro, Richard, and Matt were having trouble.

"You know, we could help you three learn how to skate." Vanessa suggested.

"Yes please," Richard responded.

Lohan and Vanessa decided to help Richard while Jamie, Scott, and Scarlett helped Matt and Pedro, there were a couple of times where the three would end up falling down or bumping into one another but luckily the others were there to catch them or stop then. Eventually, they were able to skate without the others helping them and it was a nice small victory for them.

For Matt it felt nice being around his friends, laughing, joking around and just hanging out. After his parents died and he had to live with Gwenda and Brian he slowly forgot what it meant to be loved and supported, then Kelvin came along and Matt slowly forgot what friendship was exactly. It wasn't until he met Richard and the five that he remembered what it felt like, yes they might have had rocky starts but slowly he warmed up to them and he felt like he was part of a family again. If he was going to die, then he was going to spend it like this, with people he considered friends, family.

Matt felt tears as he reminded himself that these would be his last moments with them.

'I'm gonna miss them.'

Richard noticed this and skated towards Matt.

"Matt are you okay? What's wrong?" He asked, guiding Matt towards one of the benches nearby.

"It's nothing, I just got something in my eye." Matt laughed it off as he was wiping away the tears.

"I'm serious, what's wrong, you know you can tell me."

"It's nothing, really." The journalist wasn't believing it, Matt wasn't never much of a crier and the only times he did were because of something personal.

"Matt listen, I'm here for you, you can tell me what's bugging you."

"I don't know if I can."

"What do you mean?"

"There's something I know but I don't want to tell you any of you because I don't want to scare you."

Richard understood now, "If you don't want to talk I understand, but I'm still here for you if you ever need someone to cheer you up."

Richard knew that Matt wasn't going to talk and he was okay with that. After dealing with five teenagers and one triad for about a year now, he's learned that not everyone wants to open up and he should respect that. Even though he was a journalist and getting people to talk was his job.

"Thanks, Richard."

After a few hours at the skating rink they decided to get some dinner and go back to the lodge, while on their way to the lodge, Lohan received word from his colleague about the building's layout and how guarded it was, not only that but the building was also surrounded by trees, making it easier for them to arrive there without being spotted. They all agreed that they should go to sleep and investigate the building the next day, Vanessa agreed to drive them there but she never said how they were going to get there without being detected. They looked over the building's layout and they were able to find areas where they could either get in or escape from, they felt ready and sure of themselves but Matt was starting to grow more worried.

Everyone was getting ready for bed while Matt was outside on the lodge's balcony as he looked into the snowy night, it was quiet with the only light being from the moon. He was lost in his own mind, thinking about tomorrow and how that might be the last day for him, at the very least he was doing something useful before he died. It was quiet until he heard the door open, he turned to Scarlett with a blanket around her.

"Richard told me to find you and tell you to go to bed." She spoke. "I told him you were outside on the balcony and he told me to tell you that you're crazy and that's it's freezing outside."

Matt chuckled a bit. "Well tell him I'll go back inside in a minute."

"Good, it's freezing out here."

Scarlett was about to go back inside until Matt spoke. "Scarlett, what would you do if you knew you were going to die soon?"
"Is this one of your 'I've been thinking about life' questions again?"

"Just answer the question." He said as he leaned on the wooden railing.

"Well," she walked towards him and leaned on the railing as well. "At first I would feel depressed since I don't want to die and there's still so much to do but eventually I would get over, as long as I'm around people I care about and who care about me, it's fine."

"But wouldn't you want to continue living?"

"While it would be nice, I know that death is inevitable no more what, but that doesn't stop you from enjoying your last moments with people you love." She explained as she looked up at the stars. "When my father was killed all I could think about was that he died surrounded by people who didn't care about what happened to him, I don't want that to happen to me."

Matt smiled "For someone who can be a pain sometimes, you're really mature."

"Shut up." She giggled as she punched him lightly.

"So, if I were to die, would you miss me?"

"Depends, would you miss me if I died?"

"Mhm well let's see." He received a punch to the arm as a response, he laughed. "Yes, I would, I'm pretty sure we all would miss you, especially Lohan."

"Same for you, we'd miss you as well and while Scott may not show, he has warmed up to you." Scarlett pushed herself off the railing and started walking towards the door. "I'm going back inside, I don't know what strange magic you're using to keep yourself warm but I'm freezing! Goodnight."

"Hey, Scarlett...thanks."

"For what?"

Matt shrugged. "For talking to me about this, I know you usually don't like talking about this stuff most of the time."
"Well you look like you needed someone to talk to, anyways get inside soon, it's freezing and we have a big day tomorrow." Scarlett went inside, leaving Matt outside alone once again.

"Yeah, big day." He turned around looking at the stars. "The last day I'm with you all."

There you go, I split chapter two into two separate chapters with the first part being full of wholesome moments and Matt thinking about life, I have chapter 3 ready and all I need to do it edit it, so here's the plan, I'm going to take a break from writing to work on other stuff around here and then I'm going to post chapter 3 by the end of the week, that's all I have.
