Morning had come, everyone got up and started getting prepared for the day. Matt was dreading to go downstairs and go through with the plan, he knew this was possibly the last day he'd see everyone and he was dreading every minute of it, but Scarlett's words from the previous night encourage him to go through with it. He was going to die but that doesn't mean he shouldn't help out.

Richard called Vanessa to pick them up, they waited for a while until they heard a honk coming from outside, they got in the car but were still wondering how they were going to sneak in.

"If you're all wondering how we're gonna get there without being seen, I have a little surprise for you." She spoke as they were nearing their destination, the car stopped near a sign that said 'Nightrise -staff only-', there was a security camera at the top but it was broken.

"My colleague mentioned that he broke the cameras, that way sneaking in could be easier," Lohan explained.

"Speaking about sneaking in?" Jamie started, Vanessa went behind the sign and started pushing out a blue snowmobile, the five and the two adults with them were all surprised to see the vehicle in front of them.

"Don't worry, there's more behind this sign and they're silent so you don't have to worry about getting caught." She said as she went back into the car. "I'll stay out here when you come back or need a getaway car."

"Thank you for your help, Vanessa." Matt thanked the women.

"It's no big deal." She smiled. "Oh, by the way, I got you all these."

She took out seven walkie talkies from the glove compartment and gave one to everyone.

"So you can communicate with each other if you get separated."

"Thank you."

"Good luck."

There were four snowmobiles in total, they ended up partnering up since there were seven of them and four snowmobiles. They got on, turned on the engage, and they were off, going through the forest to keep themselves hidden.

"This is fun!" Scarlett shouted, getting some speed as she turned up the engine.

"Scarlett shut up! The reason we're even on these things is so we don't get caught!" Scott argued, not wanting to get caught obviously.

"Sorry if this is fun!"

"Both of you shut it!" Matt spoke, trying to quiet the two. "I think we're getting closer."

They stopped near the end of the forest to see the large building, it looked more like a science facility, but the windows were blacked out. At the front, there were four guards with another four on the top of the building, not only that but they knew there were also four more around the back and a lot more inside.

"Scarlett, you know what to do."

"No problem." She started summoning a snow blizzard near the building while also making sure to protect themselves.

The snow blizzard was big and it was able to blow some of the security guards away from their post, not only that but some of them were even heading inside, giving the five the chance to get in.

"Alright, some of us should stay out here with the snowmobiles, that way if we get caught the others can come to get us," Matt spoke. "We only need three people and I volunteer on going."

"I volunteer to stay out here, you're crazy if you think I'm going back to that evil company." Scott accepted while he remained seated on the vehicle.

"I'll go." Jamie spoke.

"What?!"

"Come on Scott, I'll be fine, I won't let those bastards do anything to me."

"Alright, be careful okay." Scott shot Matt a look that said 'You better keep him safe' and Matt nodded.

"Scarlett I think you should stay out here, we don't know if our powers work in there and we'll need you to continue this storm." Matt explained.

"Fine." She rolled her eyes.

"Lohan you should come along with us, you're more skilled in these types of situations than any of us."

Lohan just nodded as a response.

"Pedro, do you know how these snowmobiles work?"

"I think so, Matteo."

"Good, because I'll need you four to bring all the snowmobiles, that way if we're in trouble we can call for you."

"I want you three to be safe in there, alright?" Richard spoke

"We'll be fine Richard, don't start acting like a mother hen." Jamie teased.

"I'm just saying, I don't want any of you to get hurt or captured."

"Same here, I don't want you guys to go through the same thing I went." Scott agreed.

"Do not worry, before we left, my colleague came by and gave me a weapon to defend myself."

"There you go, if we're in trouble Lohan can just take out his weapon and cut a bitch."

This got a couple laughs from the others, after that Matt, Jamie, and Lohan left their hiding spot and started going towards the building, Scarlett was protecting them from the blizzard the same way she protected them when they were in Hong Kong. They made it to the building and started going towards the back, the guards were no longer there, making it easier for them to get in. They peaked inside only to see an empty hallway.

"Looks like we're in the clear." Said Matt.

"An empty hallway in a building like this and with a company like Nightrise most likely means they're in a meeting," Lohan commented.

"Good point." Matt turned to face Jamie. "Jamie, can you use your powers?"

Jamie attempted to read Matt's mind only he couldn't hear or see anything. "Unless you just cleared your mind, I can't read anything."

"You're right, Jamie, Nightrise definitely did something to cancel our powers."

They heard footsteps from down the hall and quickly went into a room that said 'Cleaning supplies', they heard two voices coming towards them, one belonged to a man whose voice was rough and scratchy, the other voice also belonged to a man but it sounded more meek and young.

"I am telling you, sir, I believe the five are here, first the cameras are broken, then the guards reported of a man sneaking around the facility yesterday, and now this snow blizzard."

"If it is true then we have nothing to worry about, even if the five were able to get in, their powers would be useless in here."

"Now about the plans for the Old ones, sir?"

"They're on my desk in my office, I suggest you look over them before the meeting, it's the fourth floor to the right, remember that, Connor."

"Yes, sir."

"And do not mess up like last time you babbling idiot."

Once they were sure the pair were gone they came out from hiding, no one needed to speak, they understood where they were going next. They went the same direction the pair came from only to see an elevator to the other side, they pushed the fourth-floor button and felt the elevator go up.

"Wait, What do we do if there are people on the fourth floor?" Jamie asked.

"Leave that to me." Lohan spoke.

Once the elevator stopped and open there was a person in a lab coat on the other side, he looked at Lohan then at Matt and Jamie, his face morphed from a blank stare to a shocked look.

'Fuck.' Matt and Jamie thought.

"Two of the five! Right here in front of me! I have to call the chairman and report this." While the employee was trying to get to his phone Lohan went behind him and put him in a choke hold, he proceeded to choke the employee until he went unconscious.
"That was fairly easy." He said, dropping the employee in the process. "We must hide the body or else they'll get suspicious."
"There's another door that says cleaning supplies over there." Matt pointed out.

Lohan placed the man in the closet and closed the door, they started walking to where the chairman's office could be while trying not to get caught, only two other employees saw them but Lohan was able to take care of that. They noticed a door that said 'Chairman's office', they entered the office to see a dark room with bookcases on the side, a few plants, a table with a cloth covering the entire table, and a big desk with a lamp. On the desk there was a journal, Matt picked up the journal and started reading through it.

"This is a nice office." Jamie complimented. "Too bad it belongs to one of our enemies."

"I've seen better." Lohan responded. "Although, they always did end up with blood all over the place."

"I can't say I'm surprised."

"Jamie, Lohan, take a look at this." Matt called out, the two went towards Matt and looked at what he was reading. "They're planning on finding some way to communicate with Chaos."

"What the hell! Shouldn't that be impossible?" Jamie responded with confusion in his voice.

"Not according to these notes, this explains why they made their facility here, so they could experiment with different possibilities." Lohan answered.

"Well we can't just leave these notes here, we have to take them with us and show the Nexus." Matt was about to lead the way out until the door handle started to jiggle. "Shit! Hide!"

They quickly hid under the table with the cloth and hoped that who ever was coming in wouldn't check under the table. Matt decided to take a peak and see who was coming in, the door opened to reveal the same young man with the meek voice from earlier, he was muttering to himself while walking towards the desk only to adopt a look of terror.

"No no no no no no, where did they go, Mr. Chairman said they'd be right here." The man searched around the desk, in the cabinets, and even under the desk but nothing was there. "Maybe he put them in the bookcases, but he said that they were on his desk."

Just then his phone started to ring, it took his phone out and was relieved that it wasn't the chairman calling.

"Connor hurry up, the meeting is about to start and Mr. Chairman wants the notes ASAP." Said a woman's voice.

"I-I'll be right there, don't worry Barbara." He then hung up the phone and started panicking, while also leaving in the process. "I'm so fired for this."

Once the three heard the door open and close they came out from hiding, Matt turned on his walkie talkie so he could contact the others.

"Matt? What's wrong?" Richard asked.

"Nothings wrong, we found out that Nightrise is trying to get in contact with Chaos, we have their notes so we need you four to pick us, don't let anyone see you."

"Alright, we're on our way."

Richard hung up, Matt, Jamie, and Lohan were about to head out until the door opened again to reveal the same young man again.

"I should check again just in-" He looked up to see the three standing in place with shocked looks on their faces. "T-The five, t-two of the five, I knew you were here I knew it."

His eyes shifted towards the notes Matt was holding. " And you're taking the notes."

"Listen, Connor was it, we mean no harm, we just want to know what your boss is up to." Matt reassured him but the man was slowly walking backwards so he could leave the room. "We know your boss treats you like rubbish so why don't you help us, be part of the good side."

"I-I can't, this job is all I have and I don't want to get hurt, do you know what the Chairman does to people." Connor stopped at the door framed and slowly stretched his left arm towards something. "I-I'm sorry, but I have to do this."

When they went in Matt noticed that there was a big red button on the left side of the door and Matt knew what Connor was about to do.

"Connor wait!"

It was too late, the alarms went off as well as red lights.

"We have to leave, now!" Lohan shouted.

Luckily Connor didn't put up a fight and just stood there in shock, they quickly ran towards the elevator but the doors were closed and the lights on top were indicating that someone was coming up. Matt quickly took out the walkie talkie and quickly called for Richard.

"Matt what's going on? We heard an alarm from the building."

"We've been caught and the elevators are most likely packed with Nightrise employees." Matt heard voices from down the hall as well as footsteps. "We're on the fourth floor, far left, do any of you see an opening?"

"Hold on."

"Richard I think I see one!" Another voice (most likely Scott) chimed in.

"There's a window on the fourth floor where you're at."

"Thanks, we'll see you guys down there." Matt placed the radio in his jacket, spotting the window at the end of the hallway. "We'll have to jump out that window."

"Are you crazy!" Jamie barked out.

"Just trust me."

Once they were near the window they braced for impact as the three jumped through, smashing it in the process. They were falling until Matt was able to guide them down once his powers returned, Matt, Jamie, and Lohan were able to make it safely on the snowmobiles.

"Lucky landing, am I right." Richard joked.

"No time for jokes, drive!"

They quickly sped off, hoping they could leave Nightrise before they caught up with them but luck wasn't on their side, three snowmobiles appeared as they were following the five. Matt knew they were after the journal with the notes inside, he called out for Scarlett to increase the snow blizzard but Scarlett was too distracted in making sure she didn't crash into the others. He knew what they had to do and he was going to regret it.

"Split up! Make sure they lose your tracks!" He commanded. "Pedro go with Jamie and Scott, Scarlett and Lohan stay safe, we'll meet back when we're sure we lost them!"

"WHAT! We can't split up!" Pedro shouted.

"It's our best option so far!"

They all split up when they had the chance, the three snowmobiles also split up, going after each one of them.

Matt just hoped the others would be okay.

I said I would get this out by Saturday and I did it! I'll be working on the fourth chapter and it will most likely come out next week if I'm lucky, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll see you in the next one which is where I'll most likely end up depressed. PEACE OUT!!!!!
