Chapter Seven.

P.O.V of Dick.

I've already told you. I don't remember anything." I sighed for the fiftieth time.
"You must remember something." Tim pressed as the rest of the team and my brothers looked at me, though I couldn't help but notice Jay's guilty face.
He knew I was lying, and I knew he was blaming himself for me almost being caught by Deathstroke. He was the only one I could give the full story too, and I would tell him later. But for the sake of both of our lives, I just kept pulling the amnesia excuse.
"I can't." I said, "As soon as I do I'll contact you all. But right now, Damian needs to get to his mother and we need to get to school."
"I have to agree with Richard on this one." Aqualad said and my shoulders slumped as I released a breath, "Let us depart and continue this conversation this evening."
There were a few words of protest but eventually Damian left to the league and we all headed off to Gotham Academy.
Once we arrived we settled into our normal routine, peel off to wherever we normally went to, apart from this morning I headed to the math intervention, I didn't need it but it gave me somewhere to be considering we were so early this morning. I opened the door and no one looked over as I sat at the back of the classroom, dumping my bag on the floor next to me and taking out my notepad. I began to uselessly scribble down some notes from my assignment that I was meant to be handing in for Math today so it looked like I didn't just do it all in my head.  By the time I had done that only half of the intervention had passed and I had a look at what they were doing. Trigonometry, easy. I did this before I even knew English. I sighed as I packed my notebook away and leaned back in my chair as they went through some equations, which I could probably do in my head if I could remember the equation for Cosine from the top of my head right now.  But I couldn't so I just stood up and left to head to first class early, which unluckily was Math. I may be too good at it for my own good, but that didn't mean I enjoyed it, and Tim was in my class as well so I'd have to put up with pestering from him about yesterday. I sunk into my seat and got out my homework and the teacher entered. Well, the supply did.
"I hope you like getting showed up Miss M." I smirked and she jumped in surprise.
"Richard, I didn't see you there." She said, turning bright red.
"Guess I'm just too stealthy for my own good." I joked as she put her bag down and came over.
"Too hot for your own good." She muttered under breath and I almost missed it.
"Pardon me Miss M." I smirked, "But what did you just say?"
He face went even redder as she stood back up and looked over at me, "Too much work for my own good." She lied, "Being a teacher has zero perks and many downsides."
"Same thing here." I said as she came over and sat on the edge of my desk, her skirt rising higher than it probably should have, I moved my gaze to her face instantly but that wasn't any better.
Her eyes were filled with a lusting that was in no way whatsoever returned from me; personally I had my eye on someone else. Had done for quite a while now, but I'm near certain she had a boyfriend.
"Richard." She said then leaned towards me and her lips covered mine.
I stiffened in shock until my body was able to respond and I pushed her away. I saw that spark of hope die from her eyes for whatever it was she wanted. But both our heads turned to the window when we heard a group of boys catcall. They had filmed it hadn't they? They pressed their phones to the window and showed a picture of her kissing me and made faces. Now I'm certain Bruce is going to kill me, and make sure that Megan and I were never teamed up for missions again. And all because she just had to act on a stupid crush that if she bothered to learn who I was wouldn't be there anymore.
"Richard, I'm... I didn't mean to-" She stammered out.
"It's fine." I cut her off, "Just don't do it again. You wouldn't like me and, no offence, but you're not my type."
She nodded mutely and headed back to her desk as the class filed in, Tim taking his usual seat next to me. The lesson stared smoothly for the first five minutes, then everyone's phones went off and Megan couldn't control them as they all pulled them out. I looked over Tim's shoulder, not bothered to get my own phone out to see what message everyone had received and groaned internally when I saw the picture of Megan and me. And of course, the class being mature as they are began to catcall and act like complete and utter idiots. Poor, Megan was still trying to reign them in whilst she turned redder and redder.
"Is this what I think it is?" Tim asked me.
"She made a stupid move." I replied, "But she belongs with Conner. We all know that."
"That's not what they think." He said sweeping a glance across the class, who had half turned their attention to me now.
"Let them think what they want." I said, leaning back in my chair and propping my feet on the desk, "I know what I know, she knows what she knows and that should be enough."
"Yo, Dick." Brandon called, "You planning on putting your dick in her?"
"Unfortunately Brandon," I drawled, "You won't fit."
He turned red faced as he sent a glare at me and I just returned it with a smirk which really angered him. Unfortunately he's not in my P.E class so he doesn't know about my extremely good fighting skills. He threw a punch at me as he came over but as I reached up to block it I found Tim in the way.
"Stay away from my brother." He growled.
"Awww, does Dickie here need protection." He sang as the rest of the class averted the attention to us.
"Boy's stop this now." Megan said as she came over.
"So when we threaten your boyfriend you try." He smirked at her and she went red yet again.
None of us had a chance to reply though as the door burst open to show an angry looking Conner. This just kept getting better and better.
"What did you just say?" He growled as the class "Ooooooo"'d.
"Miss and Richard here were getting it on in class here sir." Gertrude, one of the worst bullies in this school said, "It wasn't PG."
Conner looked at her as she showed him a picture and he glared at Megan and I before leaving, slamming the door hard enough to rip it through the frame with a large portion of the threshold. The class wasn't oblivious when it came to love and they knew something was going on between Conner and Megan almost instantly, and they began to comment on that. Comment included speaking and texting, so mature.
"Anyway, where was I?" Brandon drawled.
"You were sitting back in your seat." Megan said and I knew that she had used her Martian powers as he did exactly that, "Now you will all listen and act like decent Human beings for the remainder of this lesson, understood?"
The rest of the class murmured, "Understood," Minus Tim and I who quickly hooked onto what was happening from the force against our mind shields and the cooperation of the class.
At least the rest of this lesson would be peaceful.

In the end no one had dropped the news of Conner and Megan, and Megan and I. So the rest of the day was teasing and torture. When I finally got home it didn't end because Jason told Damian and they turned against me. Just love brothers. We were currently all at the table, eating a meal of whatever Wally got from the local Chinese, which was everything. Literally. But the meal was awkward because of so many things. Conner had sat as far away from Megan as he could get yet Megan was still trying to apologize to him. Jason and Damian kept talking about how they knew Megan was always going to make a move on me. Wally had tried to ask out Artemis and she had said she needed time to think about, which was false, she was just seeing how long he'd wait for her. But it did make Wally restless and he sat opposite Artemis and kept shooting her looks as if to say made your mind up yet and she kept ignoring him for her Chow Mein. Aqualad and Tim had just come away from trying to show each other up, Tim winning of course, and so they weren't on speaking terms. And I was stuck in the middle of everyone's problems, mine forgotten amongst their own drama.
"For crying out loud Arty," Wally finally exclaimed as he broke the silence that had settled when Damian and Jason had given up on annoying me, "Can you just make up your mind?"
"I don't know yet." She lied, "I need to weigh all of the pros and the cons."
"Why not just follow your heart?" Wally argued.
"Because if I do that than something's bound to go wrong." She bit back, "Because whenever I followed my heart in the past it always ended up broken."
"Sorry." Wally said as he turned back to the meal, which was thankfully almost gone, "Take your time."
She gave him a look and we all settled back into silence, this time it was disrupted by Megan.
"Conner, it was nothing serious, I was just upset you left me." She called to the other end of the table.
"I left you because you didn't love me anymore." He growled back, "You fell in love with him. And funny thing is as soon as you catch him alone you move in. As if I don't exist anymore."
"But Conner, you mean the world to me." She whined.
"You're only saying that 'cause he rejected you." Conner bit and that ended the conversation.
That was the final snippet of conversation that happened at the table and we all headed off to our rooms. I decided that there was no time like the present to do some homework. So I collected some papers and a pen to go downstairs and began to work on an essay about Macbeth. I was distracted though, I know that I shouldn't be, but I'm worried about the team and how they're even going to be able to stay together through this. It had been three days and already Megan and Conner were drifting apart because of me. And when I got back I'd be banned from Megan because of this. And Aqualad hates to be beaten, so he was going to lose confidence in his leadership and that could send Wally on a tangent. So many things that could go wrong and nothing that could possibly go right. My phone began to ring then and I looked down at the caller ID. Of course it was no surprise who it was.
"What's up?" I ask as I pick up.
"I asked out Artemis and she's not talking to me." He speed talked, but after years of listening to it I was used to it.
"Hold up dude." I played along, "You did what?"
"I asked her out." He repeated, "And I'm not sure she's gonna say yes."
"She's going to say yes." I assured him, "You both love each other just as much."
"How do you know?" He asked.
"I've known you for years," I said, "And as soon as she came along you changed, slightly at first but it became more prominent as time went along.  That's how I know it's going to work, for her you matured. Slightly."
He sent me his attempt of a glare at that but then we began to talk about more mundane topics until we hung up and I placed my phone back on the bedside table.
I waited a couple more seconds, listening to Conner, who was on guard outside my room, and then proceeded to change into my workout clothes, literally some leggings and a tank top. Then I climbed out of the window and headed around the front of house, back in the front door and towards the gym, where Bruce had set up a trapeze after a solid two years of begging. I walked over and began to stretch out against the ladder before chalking up my hands and climbing up the ladder to the bars. I warmed up by just swinging back and forth, and then I went into a few flips and catching myself by the knees and feet. Finally I went into a series of quadruple flips across the bars with a few other of my favourite tricks in between. By the time I came off I was sweating hard, my breath coming in short bursts. I checked the clock across the room, 2A.M. Maybe I was up a bit later than intended but hey, I had enjoyed myself and that's what it was all about in the air. Being myself and honouring my parents. I climbed down and caught movement in the corner of my vision, I would recognize them anywhere. I decided to ignore the red-head and his girlfriend as I went over to my favourite cool down activity, the trampoline. It wasn't until I had moved here that I began to enjoy it, not as much as the trapeze of course, but it was still tricks in the air, and I didn't have to worry about reaching the next bar or momentum.  I climbed onto it and began to jump, adding in flips, twists, back landings, front landings and just about anything I could. When I came to the end of my tricks on began to just bounce, enjoying the feeling, and eventually climbed off. Then I headed back to my room, showered and climbed into bed.

P.O.V of Wally.

I had just come off the phone to Robin when the door was opened and Artemis walked in.
"I thought about your offer." She said as she came over, "I accept."
I couldn't get it through my head, I didn't deserve her yet she still wanted me. Me. Everyone in the world and she accepts me.
"Why don't we go and do the usual boyfriend initiation." She smirked and walked out of the room.
I followed her down, linking our hands and we ended up in the gym, where she explained we would have to do hand-to-hand combat to decide if her decision was final. But we never got into the fight as she shoved me into the corner and pointed up above us.
"What?" I asked.
"Richard is up there." She said in awe and I instantly turned my head to see that he was up on a trapeze doing tricks that no human should be able to do.
"He hasn't got a net out." She pointed out, "What if he falls?"
"He's from the flying Grayson's Arty." I assured her, "He's done it all his life."
"So?" She playfully slapped my shoulder, "We're meant to be protecting him."
"He'll be fine." I said but instantly regretted it.
As soon as the words had left my mouth he dropped, falling through the air and past the bars. I heard Artemis bring in a sharp breath next to me and I was about to sprint out to catch him when he caught his feet on the bottom bar and spun over it and back up to the next bar.
"Maybe we should just keep an eye on him." Artemis said and I had to agree.
So we stood in the doorway as he progressed through more impressive tricks until he did quadruple flips, his family's signature move. I don't know how long we stood there for but eventually he came down and we backed into the shadows. We kept watching as he headed over to the trampoline that was set up across the room and he climbed on. He began to bounce, higher and higher and then he did tricks, spins and I honestly thought he was going to land on his head when he did a flip so low down but he landed on his stomach instantly going into three back flips and continuing. He climbed off the trampoline after another 15 minutes and came over to the door where Arty and I were hiding. We quickly rounded the corner into the courtyard and watched as he walked out.
"I think that was the best first date ever." She breathed.
"With that I have to agree." I replied and then kissed her under the full moon, the stars our only witness.
