When I got back, El was waiting for me at the kitchen island.

"Benny, why'd you take so long? We had dinner plans." El said pointedly.

I shrugged.

"We were doing a new song. Sorry El. Let's go." I apologised.

She sniffed.

"Please?" I asked.

"I already had dinner. By myself." she said and headed upstairs.

I just screwed up.

I checked my watch. I was only late for two minutes.

Since when did El become a punctuality freak?

I shrugged to myself and I went for a shower.

My phone buzzed.

JanelleWilson: How's your dinner?

BenjaminW: Screwed up dinner with Eliza.

JanelleWilson: Oh. Wanna go out for dinner with Jai, Corrine, Jed, Raven and me?

I smiled.

BenjaminW: Sure. Where to meet?

JanelleWilson: Presto. By 7.

I turned my phone off and grabbed a jacket.

I thudded quietly down he steps and opened a door. Eliza was watching her favourite drama.

"Bye," I called and left.
