I quietly followed Jai and Janelle.
No, I am not a stalker. I just wanted to hear what they were talking about and...
Okay, fine, I am stalking them.
Janelle's hair swung from side to side as she walked along Jai.
"You know, you shouldn't blame Benjamin for trying to murder you. He's just stressed because of his upcoming world tour, and he needed to take it out on someone." she told Jai as she bounced on the balls of her feet.
"Yeah, on me," Jai muttered.
I have never wanted to kill someone as much as Jai.
"Anyway, do you want to restart that conversation we had before Benjamin interrupted us?" Jai asked.
I leaned in front to check Janelle's reaction.
She had stopped bouncing, and was now glancing at Jai.
"Sure! You were introducing me to gym equipment, right?" she replied.
I struggled to hold back my laughter but not my tears of mirth as I shook behind them.
So subtle, Jann.
How could this girl be so oblivious to see that Jai liked her and wanted to kiss her again?
Jai frowned.
"No, I meant... oh, forget it." he said.
Janelle flinched.
"Sorry, did I say something wrong?" she asked curiously, not finding a fault.
Jai gazed at her with so much longing that I almost choked on the intimacy of that moment.
"I like you so much, Jann. You can't tell?" he said sadly.
"Uh, no." she replied.
"We're just friends, right?" she asked.
"I want to be more, Janelle. Please. I know that you know what I'm talking about. Give me a chance. I can prove to you that I'm even better than Benjamin." he pleaded.
She frowned.
"I don't feel anything for Benjamin. We're just friends. He was just frustrated with you, that's all!" she conveyed.
Jai grabbed her wrist and she winced from the pain.
Jai held on. "Give me a chance, come on!" he gripped her wrist even tighter until her arm turned red.
Janelle gasped from the pain.
I knew I had to step in.
I lunged forward and twisted Janelle's hand away from Jai.
