"Anyway, Benny, aren't we going out for dinner?" El asked.
I shook my head.
"Sorry, love, but I've gotta go meet Mr Lopez regarding the new recruits tomorrow. Want to sit through it with me?" I offered.
El blanched.
"No way. Too boring. Anyway, Grunfield is tagging along, isn't she? I don't like her, so, sorry babe, I ain't going." she whispered the last part.
I couldn't help the massive grin on my face.
Why was I smiling anyway?
I tried to pull on the compassionate side of me- oh yes, I do have it, even though I show it to some people only.
"Sorry El." I said.
She smiled- I like her so much- that model grin and kissed me.
"Be a good boy, darling. Sean and I will grab some Chinese food for you, if you want?" she remarked.
I nodded.
"Chinatown street food, like always. Thanks, El."
She beamed at me.
"Call me... Elize. Yeah, Elize. Sounds so much more... hmm... professional doesn't it?" she joked and I chuckled.
"Bye, sweets. Behave!" With that, she swung out of the room.
"Can't believe that girl says those kind of things, even when she's a role model, " Ms. Grunfield commented.
I jumped. I had forgotten she was there.
I glared at her.
"She's my girlfriend, don't go talking shi- I mean, nonsense about her." I said, quickly trying to cover my slipup.
Ms. Grunfield had instructed me to 'curb my use of vulgar words' in case the media ever heard me swear in public, it'll tarnish my rep as a good boy.
She frowned.
"I bet you don't know what Eliza gets up to when she goes out without you. What an innocent boyfriend." Ms. Grunfield tutted.
Now it was my turn to frown.
"Tell me." I asserted.
"No." Grunfield was certainly enjoying making me hang.
I glared.
"Go hit other game in town. I don't need you, Dreyer Grunfield." I spoke, stood and left to see Mr Lopez.
