Noah P.O.V

It was another day for our exams to truly stay in the military. I woke up and stretched out my limbs. I hear the others still sleeping and connie snoring. I chuckle as I get off the bed and change out into my uniform. I patted my uniform as I came outside. Gently and quietly closing the door behind me as I stepped down the stairs. 

I walk down the five cabins and headed to my left. Knocking on the door as no one answered. I waited on the porch until someone tapped my head, looking up I saw...

Noah: H-Hange!

Hange: hey, did you miss me?

Noah: Y-yeah! I also came like you said

Hange: awww you did miss me! Let's head inside, time to change those bandages

Noah: O-Okay

Walking inside the infirmary as I sat on the edge of the bed. Hange came back with the usual supplies and applied it to my head injury again. It was nice as I talked with Hange as she placed the bandage over my forehead.

Hange: the injury is healing but you gotta come back a few days

Noah: o-okay, thank you for taking care of me hange

Hange: no problem, remember to come back tomorrow morning

Noah: u-um t-then would it be alright to talk with you more

Hange smiled and ruffled my hair. As I smile.

Hange: of course, just stop by any time. I can talk to you more about sawney and bean

Noah: okay I have to go, bye hange!

I walk outside the infirmary and back to the boy's cabin. I look at the rooftop and then back at the sun. Thinking I can get a nice view. I got over on the rooftop and just followed along a path that for me. Making myself a flow until I made it on the boy's rooftop. Enjoying the sunrise as I smiled. I wonder if Dan and Dad are seeing this.

Maybe Dad but not dan. He always wakes up at noon.

Noah: mom, I hope you can see me up there. Dad is doing fine but I wish you could see me grow now

I smiled as a tear ran down my face. I wipe it away and continue to watch the sunrise until I heard someone down below from the boy's cabin come out. It was jean and marco!!

Jean: jeez, so early in the morning

Marco: come on, it won't hurt to grab some breakfast. Besides, it'll be quiet

Jean: true

Noah: are you guys getting breakfast?

I asked as they turn around and stare in shock. Was it because I scared them?

Marco: A-Ah N-Noah!! How did you get up there?

Noah: oh, my dad taught my parkour so I got up here with that

Jean: idiot get down here!

Noah: okay, will you catch me?

Jean: say what?

I took time to get down from the massive height and jumped down. Marco shrieked as Jean acted and caught me as I smiled. Jean looked pissed though as Marco came over and checked my injuries.

Marco: Noah, you seriously need to be careful. That was very immature, what were you even doing up there?

Noah: o-oh I was just watching the sunrise

Jean: idiot, don't you ever do that!!

Noah: i-i'm sorry

Marco: its fine but please don't do that

Noah: i just...

Jean: if its about the sun, just go beyond that pass and you'll see it

Noah: o-oh

Marco: promise me you won't do that unless absolutely necessary

Noah: okay marco

Marco smiled and ruffled noah's hair as Jean sighed. 

Marco: we should get some breakfast, you did want to come, right Noah?

Noah: y-yeah! If you don't mind

Jean: you already gave us this much trouble

Noah: I said I was sorry

Marco: now now, we don't need to fight so early. Today we're doing our three-dimensional maneuver gear training so lets keep our wits up

The three of us headed into the mess hall once more and got our early breakfast. It was nice with the peace and quiet. Not only that, Marco and I chatted a lot since jean was being a buttface. Still it was nice as we finished our meals and talked until others came in.

Jean: so you joined to go to the scouting region like that suicidal brat

Noah: if you mean eren then yeah, we're going to take our home back and bring hope for everyone

Marco: wow, that's such a big goal you have

Noah: yeah but, I won't do it alone I know that. That's why I'll make memories now with everyone. Including you Marco and buttface

Marco laughed as Jean felt angry and put Noah in a headlock. Rubbing his hair as the three laughed. Others in the mess hall noticed and already felt relaxed. Who knew friends can become like childhood friends in a few minutes. Time went by until everyone was awake. Shadis had called all of the cadets who were awake to come out to the fields. 

Noah stood beside Armin and Jean as they watched Shadis explain the gear.

Shadis: First off, we'll test your aptitude! Those incapable of this aren't suited to even be used as decoys! We'll have you transferred to reclaimed land!

"This is but the most basic of tests. You can perceive one's aptitude for three-dimensional maneuvers at this point. Look"

"She's not wavering in the slightest. She likely understands what to do and how to do it. That's what I call aptitude"

Both adults looked next to Mikasa to see other students having no trouble with the gear as well. Jean had trouble he still managed to stay up in the air. Noah smiled as he felt like a baby bird spreading his wings. 'I can't wait to fully use it' Noah thought until he felt someone jerk over. 

Noah: E-Eren!!

"um, what about him?"

"That's another example of aptitude. Even if you have the will, there can be cases in which you greatly underperform"

Shadis: What are you doing, Eren Jeager?!! Raise your upper body!!

Noah: oh no... eren!
