kunal's pov:

shrenu....... meri childhood best friend. we were always best friends but i have realized that friendship can turn into love. all this time i thought that i had no feelings towards her but a few months ago i discovered that i do have feelings towards to shrenu.

but i couldn't tell her few months back because i was scared that it would harm our friendship however this time, i'm going to confess my feelings on christmas. you heard right, christmas.

but why christmas? because every christmas shrenu and i would get each other a secret gift. it's our sweet tradition since childhood. it all started due to secret santa in our class. i got shrenu and shrenu got me and that is how that tradition started.

normally i would get shrenu makeup, jewelry, teddy bears, last year i got her a new iPhone but this year it's nothing but proposal.

shrenu happily came over to kunal and said: tomorrow christmas, you excited?

kunal cupped her face and said: yes pagli.

shrenu blushes hearing him calling her pagli and shyly runs off. kunal laughs at her antics.

kunal's pov:

will she accept my proposal though???

christmas afternoon:

shrenu's house:

everyone in shrenu's family went to mandir for a while so shrenu was home alone. kunal came.

shrenu: kunal!

as she squealed, she hugged kunal tight who hugged her back tightly.

shrenu: arre meri manners? come in.

kunal comes in.

kunal: to one thing, you give me mine first and then i'll give you yours.

shrenu nods and gives kunal his gift.

kunal: oh my god shrenu! you are so sweet.

shrenu: do you like it?

kunal: i love it yaar. apple watch. thank you.

shrenu smiles and kunal gets mesmerized by her beautiful smile.

shrenu: now your turn?

kunal nods.

kunal's pov:

can i be the first to say that i am scared? my heart is pounding but i grabbed courage.

no one's pov:

kunal knelt on his knees. shrenu blushes yet shocked by this move.

kunal: shrenu, we have known each other since childhood. i remember when you were being picked on by the big boys and that is when we had our first encounter. i would say such a big thank you to those boys because if not for them, i would have no idea on how we would have met. over the years, our friendship grew stronger and stronger but something else bloomed. love. shrenu, i have always loved you as a friend but soon i realized that i  love you more than just a friend. i started to see our entire future together. i realized that i can spend my entire life with you shrenu. i love you.

shrenu was getting teary by this beautiful speech. she was also jumping in joy inside as she too loved kunal with all her heart.

kunal gets out the ring and asks: will you marry me??

shrenu whispered yes and then louldly said: yes mr kunal jaisingh! kunal, i love you so much and i am ready to spend my entire life with you. not as your best friend but as your soulmate. 

kunal puts the ring on her finger and stands up. both get into a liplock.

i wanted to keep it short and sweet and mainly so i don't get caught typing at 02:02am. don't blame me, i can't sleep as i am too excited to celebrate christmas with my family.

which reminds me, i have two families. my family by blood and love and meri wattpad family.
