Chapter 3: Water and Night
Outside of a cave on the beach side stood a Seawing looking out towards the ocean infront of their cavern home.
"Lion get in here, the egg is moving." A female voice came from the cave, echoing off the walls.
"Coming!" The Seawing, Lion said as he walked into the cave. As he did so, to his left was an armor that seamed to have been used in some sort of war as some of the iron plates had chiping, scrached and chared from flames.
He neard a spot, lit by a fire, and aproched a nest of seaweed and wool. A dark green egg laid in the center of nest as it shook slightly as the hachling inside scrached at the egg, trying to break it.
"Male or female?" The female asked Lion as the egg started to break.
"I want a boy, so I can teach them to fight and to help keep us safe. But a female would be nice as well." Lion responded to the female beside him.
"*squek* *squek*" The hatchling called from inside of the egg as some cracks started to apear on the surface of the egg. "Their breaking the egg now." The female wisperd under her breath as thunder roard outside of the cave, followed by a hevy shower hitting the ocean and sand.
"Rain seams to have gotten here earlier that before." Lion said as the top of the egg broke open, revealing a seawing dragonet inside.
The dragonet opend its eyes, reveling crimson red eyes, they had green-gray aquatics on their body and some light green-gray on them. The female looked at the hatchling as it broke the rest of the egg. "A female by the looks of it." She said, lifting the hatchling up to look at her.
"*Squeke*" the hatchling said as she coverd her face with her talons.
"Its ok little one, you dont need to freat, were youre parents." Lion said as he gently held the dragonets talons in his.
the small dragonet looked out of her talons and up at her parents. She smiled as she made her aquatics light up.
"Hey, look at this." the female said as she pointed to the dragonets wing-sholder joint, a star shape was formed their which lit up the same color as the dragonets aquatics.
"Huh, a star." Lion said as he started to think of a name for his daughter. The female put the dragonet on the ground to let the walk.
"Rain star, obvious where I got it from." The female said as she looked out the cave opening.
Lion gave the denale a warm smile along with a kiss on the cheak. "That will be her name then." He said.
the dragonet waddeld around a bit as she looked around and memorized the floor.
Lion lifted the dragonet up and held her in his talons. "We should get some rest, the rain will co tinue for a while." He told them, placing a wing over the Nightwing female.
Rainstar had already made herself comfortable in her fathers talons and breath gently, deep in sleep.
