Chapter 4 Reunited and Back Again
~Angel's POV~
"ANGEL, I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!" Nicole said, after Laurence and I got our picture taken with everyone who showed up from Phoenix Drop high. They were gonna put the picture in the paper. Nicole got to me before the reporters could, soon Nicole left to get back to her house. She had told me she was missing her fist fighting training session. That's when the reporters swarmed around me like flies. "Miss Angel, how was the whole experience?" One of the reporters asked. "Well... I'd say it was life changing." I said. "How did you react when you won?" Another one asked. "I started crying tears of joy. I didn't expect us to win. I feel like I made a difference." I replied, soon answering all the other questions for me. After all the reporters cleared out, my smile faded. "What's wrong, Angel?" Aphmau asked, coming up behind me. "It's just... my dad would have been proud..." I said tearing up. "What happened? If you don't mind me asking." Garroth said. I told them everything, and how my father was presumed dead. "Wow... that's horrible!" Aphmau said, looking at me. "I have to keep him out of my mind... for Levin and everyone else... but I know he would have been proud of me..." I said looking at the floor. "I am proud of you..." I heard a familiar voice say. I looked up and saw... my dad? "Daddy?" I asked tears in my eyes. I had been 8 when I had last saw him. I had tears in my eyes. "Yes... My little baby Angel." He said. I had only allowed him to use that nickname. I ran and hugged him tightly. We went home and Mom was extremely happy he hadn't died.
I woke up the next day, and got into my Tuesday uniform, and ran down stairs to a happy family. I got on the bus as happy as ever, but once I got to school my smile faded. "Hey, loser, we saw the hug Laurence gave you. So back off!" One of the girls said, walking up to me. "Look... I didn't hug him so you need to back off." I said, walking past them. They were shocked, I could tell, and my smile returned. I walked into the school beaming, and I went into the office, before she could get me. "Good morning, Angel!" She said. "Good morning... you never told me your name..." I said. "Oh! Pardon my rudeness! My name is Lola." She said. "Good morning, Angel!" Laurence said, walking in. "Good morning, Laurence!" I said, looking at him. "You sound happy." He said, laughing. "Ya I am!" I said, jumping up and down. Lola and Laurence laughed. "What are we doing for groups?" I asked. "Well... all you have to do is make it look... dramatic. And I have a feeling you, Angel, have an idea for a song?" Lola said, looking at me. "Why is that even a question? OF COURSE I DO!" I said, laughing. "You also have to do something with people who's not in the contest anymore or who wasn't picked to be in it." Lola said, and Laurence's face fell, but my smile never faded. "I got it!" I yelled jumping, and Lola and Laurence looked at me. "I have all of my ideas written on paper." I said, pulling out a sheet of paper. "When did you write these?" Laurence asked, looking at the paper. "When did you do this?" He asked. "I woke up at 3:00 and couldn't get back to sleep." I said casually. They just looked at me, surprised. I should be half asleep, but I was as energized as ever! Laurence and I headed to the auditorium, he was walking... and I was skipping ahead, which soon turned into a walk when I was close. I called myself a champion skipper, because, let's face it, I never run! I would always skip when we were supposed to run in PE. Those "Popular" girls ran into me, and I fell. "Angel!" I heard Laurence yell, running towards me. I ignored him, and just stared at the girls. "Oh... sooo sorry, Loser. I never saw you there." Said the girl who must be the leader. "You know what... I have half a mind to go insane. But I must be smarter than you, because you're lucky I haven't gone insane yet." I said, standing up, and dusting myself off still looking at her. "How do you stay so calm!? I've insulted you, I've embarrassed you, and even called you a loser! How can I make you break!?" She yelled. "Let's just say... I'm all ready broken, i've been since I was eight years old." I replied calmly. "What does that supposed to mean!?" Another girl asked. "My father was presumed dead when he left my mom, brother, and me when I was eight, and after that... let's just say... I didn't want to live any more, but I hid it from everyone, including my family and friends. So I have trust issues now, who cares?" I said, my voice had an unnatural coldness in it, which shocked her. "You know what!? I give up!" The girl said, running off, with her friends trailing behind her. I sighed and looked at the floor, my happiness turned to sadness, as I looked at the floor. "Let's just find a song, and... just get this over with." I said to Laurence, once he got to the auditorium. He nodded and we walked in...
