Chapter 5 - Same Thing
"Come on Remus let's go!" Ivy yelled, it was the 1st of September and her third year at Hogwarts. She raced around Kings' Cross Station, trying to find Platforms 9 and 10.
"Slow down Ivy." Remus said, smiling. "It's only 10:45." He followed her slowly, still slightly exhausted from the night before.
"I don't- There it is!" Ivy pointed to the barriers of 9 and 10. She grinned at Remus before running as fast as she could through the brick wall. Hearing the train and people, she smiled and pushed her trolley to the Hogwarts Express.
"Ivy!!" Ivy turned around and smiled. Marvelle ran up to her, a cheerful look on her face. "How was your summer?"
"It was great! Yours?" Marvelle sighed softly but forced another smile.
"Um... alright. Can I- Oh hello!" She looked up at Remus and smiled, who smiled back down at her.
"Hello. You must be Marvelle?" Remus stated.
"Yeah, that would be me."
"It's nice to meet you. I'm Ivy's godfather, Remus. She's told me a lot about you." They shook hands and Marvelle smiled.
"I'm glad. Um... Ivy can I ask you something?"
"Sure." Ivy looked at Remus. "Uh... Remus?"
"Yes? Oh of course, I'll be over, yeah." Remus walked off. Ivy smiled slightly and sighed.
"So what's up?"
"I need a place to live!" Marvelle blurted out. Ivy blinked.
"What?"
"My parents think I'm a freak so they kicked me out! They dropped me off here and left after saying to never come back..." She sighed.
"Oh Marvelle, I'm so sorry." Ivy hugged her and sighed, thinking about Remus's furry problem. "Maybe I can ask Remus if you can stay with us..."
"Really?? I mean, you don't have to and-"
"Well, I'll see what I can do." Ivy walked over to Remus awkwardly, still thinking about his time of the month.
"You okay, Ivy?" He asked and she nodded in reply.
"Um... Marvelle's parents... they kicked her out and she's wondering if she could stay with us when she's not at Hogwarts." She said quickly. Remus's eyes widened.
"Did you tell her about..." He started.
"No..."
"Ivy, it's dangerous and you know perfectly well that I could kill you or-"
"But you didn't!" She reminded and he sighed. "Come on Remus! She has nowhere to stay!"
"It's dangerous-"
"Marvelle's really nice."
"I can see that-"
"She can help around."
"You're not making her do your chores Ivy." Ivy crossed her arms.
"I wasn't going to say that." Remus raised an eyebrow. "I was going to say she could help. Besides she loves cleaning so much it's weird." He sighed.
"Fine."
"Really?? Oh Remus thank you! I love you!" She hugged him and the train whistle blew, indicating the students to board the train. "Did that really take 15 minutes?" He shrugged and smiled. "Well I better get going then."
"See you Ivy."
"Well... I'll see you, bye!" She ran off but stopped before boarding the train. Ivy ran back to Remus. "You sure you're feeling alright from last night?"
"Yes, I promise I'm fine." Remus said.
"You don't look like it. Like you have new scars-"
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me."
"It's hard not to." Remus smiled slightly and looked at the floor before looking at her again.
"Now you better get going. The train might leave without you."
"Right train. Bye!" She ran back to the train and boarded it just before it started moving. She waved at Remus until he was out of sight. She sighed and turned around. "Now time to find a compartment."
"There you are!" Ivy jumped and turned around, seeing Marvelle. "Where were you? You gave me enough time to find Maria." Maria appeared beside her.
"Hey Ivy!" She exclaimed.
"Hey Maria! How was your summer?" Ivy replied.
"It was great! You?"
"Alright. Oh and Marvelle, Remus said yes."
"Oh really?? Oh my gosh Ivy! Thank you! I owe you one." Marvelle hugged her tightly. Ivy smiled and hugged her back. Marvelle broke the hug with a huge smile on her face. "Anyway, so should we go find a compartment?"
"Yep!" Ivy smiled and opened the closest compartment door. Inside were two redhead twins and a boy with dreadlocks. She frowned. "Nope!" She closed the door but one of the redhead twins ran and held the door open.
"Potter! Hi Marvelle. Hi Maria." He said.
"Hello and Goodbye." Ivy stated quickly, trying to close the door but he held on it tightly. She sighed with annoyance.
"Hey- Wait let me try guess." Marvelle thought for a minute.
"George." Ivy guessed.
"Fred." Fred grinned. She sighed with annoyance.
"Same thing!" He gasped.
"Um no. Not the same thing. You see we're two completely different people-"
"Right George is not that annoying."
"Thank you." George said and stood up, before walking over to them.
"I highly disagree." Fred stated.
"No I agree."
"I disagree. But no I am not that annoying." Ivy coughed. Fred shot her a look. "And I'm the better looking one." She coughed again, this time trying to hide a snicker. He shot her a look again.
"Now that I disagree too." George added.
"I'm not even going to say who's the better looking one because I can't. You two are just-" Ivy shook her head. "I know Marvelle can tell you." She grabbed Marvelle and pushed her in front.
"Wait what?" Marvelle asked with confusion. "Hey George. Hey Fred." The twins smiled at her.
"Hello." They said in unison.
"Which one is better looking?" Ivy asked. Marvelle turned red as she glanced at George for a minute.
"I- um... I think- Wait no I- I can't answer that..." She stuttered. The twins frowned.
"Why not?" Fred asked.
"I can't. I-Ivy let's go find a compartment." Marvelle blushed and walked off.
"Hang on. Potter!" Ivy turned around and looked at Fred. Marvelle sighed with slight annoyance and waited.
"Yes?" She asked and crossed her arms.
"Two things. 1) Gryffindor is going to beat Ravenclaw this year in Quidditch-" She laughed loudly.
"Keep dreaming Weasley. Not gonna happen." Ivy was the Chaser on the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team. The twins were beaters on the Gryffindor Team. And everyone was very competitive when it came to Quidditch, especially Fred and Ivy.
"Oh really?" Fred grinned. "We have better players then you."
"No you don't."
"We have Oliver Wood!"
"We have Roger Davis!"
"We have Alicia Spinnet!!"
"We have Cho Chang!"
"We have Fred and George Weasley!" Ivy coughed.
"We have Ivy Potter!!" Fred grinned and raised an eyebrow.
"Wow that's a bit self-centred."
"You're the first one to say your own name!"
"Yeah because it's true." She coughed loudly again. He raised an eyebrow again.
"And that Bludger that hit Angelina Johnson last year. That wasn't us."
"Okay, that was you. Not us."
"It was not us!"
"It was!"
"It was not!"
"It was!"
"You think this year they would change.." Marvelle said, rolling her eyes. George nodded in agreement.
"Very funny Marvelle. Unfortunately, Weasley has become more annoying then usual." Ivy stated.
"Can you just hurry up and tell her the second thing?" George asked, making her frown.
"Tell me what?"
"Oh yeah. Guess who we met before?" Fred looked at Ivy.
"Who? And why does this concern me?"
"Because you've always wanted to meet him."
"Hang on. 1) How do you know if I want to meet someone? And 2) Who is it?!"
"Harry Potter." He whispered in her ear. Her eyes widened. Ivy always wanted to meet her brother. She wondered what he looked like. What his personality was like. But the two questions that she desperately wanted the answer to was; Did the Muggles treat him rightly? And did Harry Potter remember her?
"How did you meet him before me??" She asked furiously. Fred shrugged.
"He was asking for directions to the Platform. Then we helped him put his stuff on the train."
"What was he like?!"
"He was rather polite actually." Ivy smiled slightly. "Not like you though." She frowned and rolled her eyes.
"I'm going to ignore the second part. Do you know where he is?"
"No. Why?"
"Well I need to meet him!! He's my brother! I haven't seen him since he was..." She sighed. "One."
"Yeah, do you remember what You-Know-Who looked like?" She stared at him. She remembered the night quite clearly. How her father told her to run to the back door. Her mother and Harry ran upstairs. She ran onto the streets as the man in the black cloak walked inside. A green light covered the bottom part of the house and she could hear a body fall to the ground... She didn't know who it was though. Then another green light appeared upstairs, larger than last time. It caused an explosion and the top part of the house blew up. She waited, and after awhile a flying motorbike appeared.
"Why? Why? Why would you ask someone that?" She questioned. He shrugged and George facepalmed. "Fine I'm going to go find him."
"You don't even know what he looks like!"
"Well he's my brother. Or you could show me who he is." He groaned.
"Do I have to?"
"Yes!"
"Or what?"
"I will hex you." Fred frowned, making her smile innocently. "I can be violent."
"Fine I'll come!" And the two walked off, checking through each and every compartment. After a while, Fred stopped at a compartment and opened the door.
"What do you want? Where's George?" Someone asked from inside.
"Good to see you too Ron." Fred replied then looked at Ivy. "This annoying boy is my little brother."
"Oh I see where he gets his annoyingness from." She said, narrowing her eyes at him. He rolled his eyes.
"Anyway, do you know where Harry Potter is?"
"He's right here. And why do you want to know?" Ron said and Ivy looked up, her eyes wide.
"This girl wants to see him."
"I'm just some girl?" Ivy asked. Fred sighed.
"I'm sorry. I mean, some random, annoying, Ravenclaw girl wants to meet him." She shrugged.
"Better."
"Anyway since he's right here. You go in and I'll be off." Fred pushed Ivy inside the compartment. She gasped and panicked.
"Oi!" She frowned and grabbed his arm. She pulled him back and he hit the door. He groaned.
"Ow..." She rolled her eyes and looked at the two boys. She guessed the one with red hair was Fred's brother. They all red hair. But her eyes darted to the other boy. The boy with messy jet black hair and round glasses. He looked a lot like her father. Except for the eyes, the emerald green eyes that were staring at her, probably because her hair kept turning into different colours. His eyes was like their mother's. Emerald green. And the scar, the lightning shaped scar on his forehead.
"Oh... my... Merlin..." Ivy said slowly as shock, sadness and excitement filled inside of her. "You look so different. I haven't seen you in ten years... and you look a lot like... wow..." She looked at his confused face and sighed sadly. "You don't remember me do you?"
"I'm sorry." Harry started. "But who are you?"
"Ivy. Ivy... P-" She stopped for a minute, confusing herself for a minute. "Yeah, yeah. Ivy."
"Maybe you should tell him your last name." Fred stated, looking very bored. He leaned against the wall and looked at Ivy and Harry. "That would help a lot." She shot him a look and sighed.
"What's your last name?" Harry asked with confusion, looking at the two.
"Potter. Ivy Potter." Ivy said and Harry's eyes widened.
"Potter... like my name-"
"Very much like your name yes." He stayed quiet for a moment. "If it helps, you have a sister. And I have a brother, one that I haven't seen in ten years. Since he was one, and I was three."
"I have a s-sister. Y-you're my sister. And they didn't tell me..." She frowned.
"Who didn't tell you?"
"My aunt and uncle... or your aunt and uncle. They didn't tell me anything."
"Let me guess, they're muggles?" He nodded.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure." She smiled slightly and sat down across from him. She looked at Ron. "Sorry. Fred, you can go now."
"Thank you!" Fred exclaimed loudly. "I'll go get Marvelle and Maria." Ivy nodded and he walked off.
"So what were you going to ask me?" She smiled at Harry.
"What were our parents like?" Her smile faded and she looked at the floor. She remembered what they were like. She remembered when her father created multi coloured bubbles and she and Harry played with them. She remembered when she sat in her mother's lap and changed her hair to multiple colours, making her mother smile. The memories saddened her and she wished they were still alive. But they weren't. Lord Voldemort came and ruined it.
"They - they were amazing." She smiled softly. "And they were both kind. My godfather was best friends with them, he said they were both intelligent... our mother was more intelligent than our father though. Lily and James, that was their names." He nodded.
"Okay, and why does your hair keep changing colours?"
"What?" Ivy looked at her rainbow hair and her eyes widened. She changed her hair to jet black and blue ends. "Oh! Yeah I'm a metamorphamagus. A person that can change their appearance whenever they want."
Harry smiled. "That's cool."
"It's alright." She shrugged. "See like this." She stared at the floor and slowly, her hair became shorter and light brown but her eyes stayed Hazel. She grinned as she took Maria's appearance.
"Hey Ivy, Fred said you're in this-" The compartment door opened and Maria and Marvelle came inside. Maria screamed and covered her eyes. Marvelle, Ivy, Harry and Ron laughed.
"Harry, this is Marvelle and Maria." Ivy introduced, grinning at Maria. "As you can see I look exactly like her. I do this all the time."
"And Maria is surprised every time!" Marvelle said, in between laughter.
"Well how you like it if-" Maria stopped. "I've got nothing!" Ivy laughed again and changed her appearance back to what it was normally, grinning from ear to ear.
