Chapter 17 - Exact Same Way

Ivy looked through all the windows of the shops in Diagon Alley. From Quality Quidditch Supplies to Gambol and Japes Wizarding Joke Shop, she wanted to have a look in all of them and buy things that she 'needed'.

"You don't need anymore Dungbombs," Remus stated when she asked about it for the millionth time.

"Yes I do," Ivy replied. "Come on Remus, I'll be quick."

"Ivy, I already said no."

"Please?"

"No."

"Pretty please?"

"No, and that's my final answer." Ivy pouted and Remus raised an eyebrow at her. He crossed his arms. "Are you really going to try that?" She nodded and pouted even more. "It's not going to work."

"Please..." She tried again and tilted her head to the side. Remus shook his head and Ivy groaned, crossing her arms. "Fine."

"We need to buy your school books first." Ivy looked at the book list again and sighed. Marvelle looked over her shoulder and frowned.

"This doesn't make sense," Marvelle said. "Break With a Banshee, Travels With Trolls,  Voyages with Vampires? Why are they all by Gilderoy Lockhart? What's so special about Gilderoy Lockhart?"

Ivy's eyes widened and she turned to her. "You don't know who Gilderoy Lockhart is?" Marvelle shook her head. "Wow, you've been in the magical world for 4 years and you haven't found out who Gilderoy Lockhart is?"

"What's the big deal?"

"Nothing," Remus answered quickly.

"Well he's really famous and good-looking and all his books are true!" Ivy exclaimed, ignoring Remus' comment. "And he was in Ravenclaw when he went to Hogwarts."

"And he's here..." Remus mumbled with a hint of disappointment in his voice. Ivy looked up and searched around excitedly.

"Really where??" Remus pointed to Flourish and Blotts. There was a very large crowd gathering at the entrance and Gilderoy Lockhart's books were on display. Ivy squealed and ran over to join the crowd. Marvelle followed and so did Remus, but grudgingly.

Ivy pushed through the crowd and saw him. Well not him, it was just a photo on the cover of his autobiography 'Magical Me'. The handsome young man had short wavy golden hair and perfectly straight teeth, constantly winking at anyone that walked past. Ivy stood on her toes. "Excuse me!" She said loudly and pushed past the person in front of her. The person rolled their eyes and looked at her. His eyes widened.

"Ivy?"

Ivy turned around and her eyes widened. She smiled widely. "Fred!" Fred smiled back.

"How are-"

"Hey!" George pushed through the crowd and stood beside Fred. "Ivy!"

"George!"

"Ivy!" Marvelle yelled and soon she was next to them as well. She spotted the Weasley Twins and smiled as well. "George! Fred!"

"Marvelle!" The twins said in unison and the four of them burst out laughing.

"It's so good to see you!" Marvelle stated and smiled at the twins. "How have you been?"

"Great! How about you?"

"Where's Harry?" Ivy asked and the twins' smiles faded. They glanced at each other and searched around. Ivy frowned and narrowed her eyes at the two of them. Her hair turned orange and yellow. "What did you two do?"

"Well... we didn't do anything..." Fred started slowly, avoiding Ivy's glare. "But..."

"So what happened was this..."  George said, glancing around.

"Harry, dear! Thank goodness. We'd hope you only gone one grate too far." A plump woman with red hair said suddenly and the twins sighed with relief. Ivy glanced at the woman hugging a boy, she assumed the woman was the twins' mother.

"And he's here like he always was..." They said in unison and Ivy nodded slowly, narrowing her eyes with suspicion.

"Harry! There you are! Don't you run off like that," Fred said and waved a finger at Harry who stood beside him. Harry frowned with confusion but rolled his eyes slightly. He looked at Ivy and his smile widened.

"Ivy!" Ivy smiled back at him.

"Harry! It's good to see you, how have you been?"

"I've been great," He replied. "You?"

"I'm-"

"Ladies and gentlemen, Gilderoy Lockhart!" Ivy swung around and squealed causing the Weasley twins to jump. Gilderoy Lockhart flashed his perfect white teeth and waved at the crowd.

"Oh, that's Gilderoy Lockhart." Marvelle realised and smiled slightly. "Wow."

"I know," Ivy said and sighed dreamily. The twins raised an eyebrow and frowned at them.

"Oh no not you too," Fred stated, rolling his eyes. Ivy frowned. "Our mother's in love with him and now you are too."

"I am not." She retorted. "I just like him a lot."

"That's in love."

"No it's not, I like Marvelle and Maria a lot and I'm not in love with them."

"Hey," Marvelle said jokingly and Ivy smiled slightly, rolling her eyes again.

"Kidding, I love you but not like that though." Ivy looked around and frowned. "Where did Remus go?"

"Excuse me, little girl, this is for the Daily Prophet!" A small photographer pushed past a redhead girl. He stood at the front and took photos of Gilderoy Lockhart. Lockhart scanned the crowd and his eyes widened.

"Harry Potter..." He whispered and everyone's eyes shot towards Harry, who looked like he wanted to hide in the shadows.

"Harry Potter!" The photographer exclaimed and grabbed Harry's arm before dragging him to the front and shoving him beside Lockhart. Lockhart said something to him and went back to smiling at the photographer took more photos.

"So lucky..." Ivy mumbled.

"I don't think he would agree with you," George answered and she rolled her eyes again.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, what an extraordinary moment this is. When young Harry stepped into Flourish and Blotts this morning to purchase my autobiography Magical Me,"

The crowd broke into applause and Ivy smiled happily. The twins and Ron looked around with confusion and disgust, however, they weren't the only ones. Some other boys in the room had the exact same expression.

"Incidentally is currently celebrating its 27th week on the Daily Prophet's bestseller list." Lockhart continued. "He had no idea that he would, in fact, be leaving with my entire collected works, free of charge." He shoved a pile of books in Harry's hands and the crowd broke into applause again. Harry staggered back to the Weasleys, Ivy and Marvelle. "Now ladies..." He sat down and the women pushed into a line, all eagerly waiting for an autograph.

"Come, Harry, let me get those signed." The twins' mother grabbed his books and joined the line. Ivy frowned and looked around.

"Great, I've lost my Godfather..." She mumbled and started to walk outside. The Weasleys, Marvelle and Harry were heading in the same direction. Suddenly, a boy with platinum blonde hair stopped Harry in his tracks, blocking their exit.

"Bet you loved that didn't you Potter! Famous Harry Potter." The boy spat and they glared at him. Ivy didn't know who he was, but she knew he was trouble. "Can't even go into a bookstore without making the front page."

"Leave him alone." The little redhead girl from before stepped forward and glared at him. The boy scoffed and smirked.

"Look Potter! You got yourself a girlfriend?"

Someone placed the end of their cane on his shoulder and pulling the boy back. The man had long platinum blonde hair and Ivy was sure he was the boy's father. "Now, now Draco, play nicely."  The man looked at them and smiled unwelcomingly. He turned to Harry and held out his hand, which Harry shook. "Mr Potter, Lucius Malfoy." The man introduced. "We meet at last."

Ivy narrowed her eyes slightly. She heard about the Malfoys once, they were one of those Pure-Blood families that thought they were better than everyone else because they were Pure-Bloods and thought that Muggle-borns, blood-traitors were lesser than them. Ivy and Harry were Half-Bloods which she didn't understand because both of their parents were wizards, well their mother was a Muggle-born so that must be it. Remus was a half-blood too, his mother was a muggle though.

"Forgive me, " Lucius Malfoy pulled Harry forward and placed the end of his cane near Harry's scar. The end of the cane was a silver snake head. Right, these people were rich too, Ivy thought. "Your scar is the legend, as of course the wizard who gave it to you."

"Voldemort killed my parents," Harry replied and took a step away from Mr Malfoy. He narrowed his eyes at the man. "He was nothing more than a murderer."

"You must be very brave to say his name, or very foolish." Mr Malfoy smirked.

"Fear of the name only increases the fear of the thing itself." They turned around and Ivy finally realised that Harry's friend, Hermione was standing there. She glared at the Malfoys. Mr Malfoy turned to her.

"And you must be... Ms Granger," Draco Malfoy nodded. Mr Malfoy continued. "Yes, Draco has told all about you, and your parents." Hermione glanced at her parents who were chatting happily with Mr Weasley. Ivy again assumed it was the Weasleys' father, the man had red hair. Hermione turned back to him. "Muggles, aren't they?"

Mr Malfoy then turned to the Weasley children, smirking slightly again. "Let me see; red hair, vacant expressions, tattered second-hand books." He picked up a book in the Weasley girl's leather notebook in her cauldron and turned it around in his hands. "Must be the Weasleys."

The redhead man that was talking to Hermione's parents walked to them and placed his arm around the young redhead girl's shoulders. "Children, it's mad here, let's go outside."

"Ah, Weasley Senior." Mr Malfoy stated and Mr Weasley turned to him, narrowing his eyes at the man.

"Lucius." Mr Weasley greeted simply, though his expression was sour.

"Isn't it tight at the Ministry, Arthur? With all those extra raids, I do hope they're paying you overtime. But by the state of this," he held up the girl's book and placed it back in her cauldron. "I say no. What's the use of being a disgrace to the name of wizards if they don't even pay you well for it?" Mr Weasley's eyes flashed with anger and Ivy felt the twins tense beside her. She and Marvelle glanced at each other and stared at Mr Malfoy with shock.

Finally, Mr Malfoy looked at Ivy and raised an eyebrow. "And who might you be?"

"Ivy Potter," Ivy answered, crossing her arms and narrowing her eyes at him. Mr Malfoy smirked and raised an eyebrow.

"Another Potter? I have to say, I'm shocked. I wonder why your father named you that, considering everything that had happened."

Ivy's eyes widened at the mention of her father and she frowned at him. "Considering what happened?"

Mr Malfoy's smirk grew wider at her cluelessness. "I guess you'll never really know since your father and mother were murdered, like your brother mentioned before. A pity, really." Ivy's hair started to turn grey but she willed it not too. Before she could reply, Mr Malfoy turned back to Mr Weasley. "I'll see you at work."

He walked off and his son, Draco faced Ron and Harry.  "See you at school." Then he followed his father.

"What was that about?" Marvelle asked them and they sighed.

"I don't know..." Ivy replied and turned to the twins, Harry and Ron. "I'm guessing there's some rivalry there right?"

"Yeah, that was Draco Malfoy, someone annoying in Slytherin," Ron answered and rolled his eyes.

"There's always that one annoying person in each year, isn't there?" Ivy questioned and Marvelle nodded in agreement.

"Really? Who is it for you then?" Harry asked and Ivy pointed to Fred.

"Hey! Well fine, because you're the annoying person to me." He stated and pointed at her. She shrugged.

"I'm glad, but I think it's just the fact that you can't admit that my pranks are better than yours."

Fred scoffed. "That is not it. Maybe you find me annoying because-"

"I find you annoying, Weasley, because you're you. Not because of anything else."

"Well, I see you in the exact same way."

"I'm glad."

"Okay good."

"Good."

George and Marvelle frowned and glanced at each other with shock and confusion. Ron and Harry just looked at them with confusion. "What just happened...?" Harry said.

"I don't know..." George replied and Marvelle whispered something in his ear. George's eyes widened and he shook his head. Ivy and Fred looked at them with confusion as they talked in silent whispers.

"I bet you five galleons I'm right!" Marvelle exclaimed and George sighed with defeat.

"Fine." He said and Ivy glanced at Fred then turned back to Marvelle.

"What-"

"Ivy! Ivy!!" Ivy turned around and Remus walked over to them. She sighed with relief and turned around. She thought she would have to face an awkward situation but thankfully her Godfather saved the day.

"Remus! I've been looking over for you everywhere!" Ivy exclaimed and walked to him. She sighed. "Actually no, I've been here the whole time... so... uh... that's not important." Remus raised an eyebrow at her and nodded slowly. "Oh, guys! This is my Godfather, Remus. Remus, this is everyone that I like, except for him." Ivy pointed at Fred again and he rolled her eyes.

"It's nice to meet you all," Remus stated and smiled at them. He turned to Marvelle. "Have you bought your books yet? I think Lockhart's nearly finished signing."

"Oh I haven't yet, I'll do that now," Marvelle said and started grabbing the books she needed on the Gilderoy Lockhart display.

"Lucky! You get signed copies!" Ivy exclaimed. "My books are at home! If I had known-"

"But you didn't, haha, you don't get Gilderoy Lockhart's autograph," Fred whispered in a sing-song voice. Ivy glared at him furiously and stepped on his foot as hard as she could. "Ow!" He exclaimed.

Ivy flashed him an innocent smile then turned away from him. "Come on Marvelle, let's get your books signed." She walked off with Marvelle and Remus. Fred sighed and watched as he stood on one foot, aiding the other with his hand.
