Coincidentally, this is KitsuneImmortal 's first time holding an art competition and this is my first time submitting my artwork for an art competition on wattpad. :)

KitsuneImmortal is hosting a art contest where you're suppose to draw a specific fear.

I chose to do achluophobia, which is the fear of darkness.

Reasons for why I drew it:

The time period in my picture is during the Dark Ages, which is why the little girl on the left is wearing a 16th century dress and a torch is lying on the ground. During this time, rats roamed the streets due to the lack of a good sewage system as shown with the rat by the torch (I'm sorry if it's hard to see it). When I was little, I would often see like creepy hands or figures in the darkness (but when I looked at the darkness more clearly, I realized that it was a shadow of like a lamp or something of the sort). That is why I made the monster out of the darkness.

Features of the girl:

To show her youth, I included features such as pigtails/double braids (whichever y'all call them), big eyes (which also represent fear), and freckles (for some reason this represents youth).

My talents are in shading, not color (except pastels, which I unfortunately don't have), but since this is a fear of darkness, it doesn't require color.
