The radio buzzes to life. I turn the tuning dial until the harsh static gives way to her sweet voice.

"Maizon?" she calls out.

"I'm here, Ruby," I say back to her.

"It's good to hear your voice, my love. How have you been since we last spoke?"

"Missing you. I still can't believe there's a dimension where the people look like us and talk like us but aren't us."

"The most unbelievable part is that the one I love exists in another dimension than me."

"My dad doesn't believe you exist. He thinks I'm going crazy." When I told my dad about Ruby, the girl from an alternate dimension who talks to me through the radio, he laughed at me.

"My caregivers don't believe you're real either."

"I'd do anything to see you. I'm going to study astrophysics and find a way to you."

"I know something about space science. A wormhole big enough to bring you here would destroy everything."

"So I can't go there and you can't come here."

"We can't meet but I'll always be here to talk, listen, and love you."

The radio cuts out.

"Until next week," I say into the silence.
