Promposal XIII

"Hurry up, pig!"

I puffed out some air as I tie my hair up in a messy bun. "Geez, big. Don't get too excited." After I successfully folded the ends of my pants, I pushed the door open with too much force, then as I expected, he groaned.

"Oh my God, are you okay?" I kneeled down beside him. He's on the floor, sitting, and his hands both on his head.

"Easy, girl. Don't get all Wonder Woman on me. I'm not Superman.  I'm just Batman. Weak and powerless."

I smacked him on the head and stood up and faced the mirror in front of me. I heard him groan in pain again before he stood up beside me.

"Did I hit a nerve?" He grinned at me. I just rolled my eyes at him.

"Bruce Wayne's not weak. And yeah, he may be powerless, but even so, at least he does his best to save the city. For him, a hero doesn't need to have powers to make a difference and save the world." I defended, crossing my arms over my chest. He let out a low whistle.

"Fine, okay, okay. You win. I'll shut up." He raised his hands up in the air, admitting defeat. That made me grin.

"Take a look at our shirts, we look adorable!" He gestured to our reflections, and yes, we do look great. Trev's choice of words throws me off.

"Don't use sappy words, Trev." He just waved me off and flexed his muscles.

We're currently in Pacific Mall, specifically in the department store. He pulled me to a dressing room, and then threw me a shirt and told me to get changed, and then by himself, he entered one cubicle, too. I just shrugged it off and changed.

My shirt is the color of yellow, and there's a big question mark (?) in the middle of it in a pink print. While Trev's shirt is pink, and instead of a question mark, it has a big punctuation mark (!) in yellow.

"I didn't know that you have a thing for couple shirts." I said and smiled at him. In return, I received a glare from him but I just blew him a kiss.

"But really, it's cute. Thanks, big."

He flashed me a boyish smile before saying, "The pleasure is mine, pig."

When we reached his car, we got in and drove away. The dance rehearsal is starting in fifteen minutes.

"Hey, you okay?" I turned to look at him. He glanced at me before turning his gaze again to the road.

"Yeah, I'm okay. I'm great. W-Why did you ask?" He shrugged then we continued to travel in silence.

"When the days are cold

And the cards all folded

And the saints we see are all made of gold..."

I fished out my phone from my bag, and the screen says the caller's Bailey. God. Bailey. I haven't heard from her since yesterday. I automatically hit the green button and places it on speaker.

"Bailey?"

"Nikki! Where are you?"

"I'm on my way to school. Are you there yet?"

"YOU'RE DRIVING?! YOU SHOULD'NT HAVE ANSWERED MY CALL IF YOU'RE DRIVING!"

"Geez, I'll hang up."

"No, no! Bailey!"

"Why?" She asked from the other line. I glanced at Trev, who has a smile on his face, probably amused by our conversation.

"It's fine. I'm not driving. I'm riding with Trev."

"Hey, Bailey." Trev greeted as I mentioned his name. I smiled at him before turning back to my phone.

"Oh hey, Trevor! Care to tell me why is my girl with you?"

That made us both laugh. He wiggled his brows before speaking up. "Let's just say that your girl just lost her virginity last night."

"WHAT?!!!" She shrieked from the other line, while I gave him my most venomous glare. I swear, if he's not driving right now, I would've grabbed him and stabbed him fifty shades of crimson right now. Lucky for him, all I can do right now is to glare at him. He collapsed in a fit of laughs, and I was worried that the car might crash.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" I yelled at him, pulling him back to reality. We came to a halt because of the red light. The second we stopped, I started hitting his arm. He just responded with his manly laugh.

"OH MY GOD, MY NIKKI'S ALL GROWN UP! SHE'S ALREADY DEVIRGINIZED BY TREVOR, MY BOY!" Bailey cheered from the other line.

"Will you shut up, B? And stop yelling things out there, someone might overhear you and spread rumors!"

"And excuse me, I'm still a VIRGIN!" Trev laughed again, and I could hear Bailey laugh, too. Damn these two for ganging up on me. Screw them.

"Relax, pig. We're just playing with you. I know that you still want us to get married first before 'that'." That earned him another smack on the head again.

"Ignore him, Bailey. He's an ass."

"By the way, wanna go to school with us later? The girls and I will ride in my mom's white limousine."

"Ooh, a limo! Sounds classy." I said in a sing-song way

"My mom insisted, saying that this'll be our last year in highschool, so we should stand out from the others. I don't mind, though. It's fab!" I giggled at her enthusiasm and energy, but it suddenly faded when I remembered something.

"Will Kaitlyn be there?"

"I don't think so. She said she'll ride with her date. Why?"

"Is there still a room for a hot guy like me?" Trev piped up, maybe he realized how awkward the atmosphere is, bless his soul, his eyes twinkling.

"Yeah, can Trev come? He's my prom date, so it'll be just fine."

"He's your date?!" She shrieked again.

"You don't have to shriek every damn time you get surprised or shocked, B. Your high pitched voice is enough to bring down a house of mirrors, might I remind you." I said

"I hate you, Nikki."

That made me laugh. "I love you, too, Bailey. See you later!"

I hopped out of the car when he turned off the engine, and he got out as well. I waited for him by the door and grabbed his hand, intertwining our hands. He looked at me and gave me a smile.

If Adam could be as sweet and caring, in a way that he cares about what I would feel if I found out about their relationship, as Trev, then everything could have worked out well.

We walked to the halls of the school, and just then I noticed that everyone's wearing shirts. Not just any shirt, but a shirt with letters on them, in different colors. N, L, W, Q, E, U, H. These are just some of the letters. We also passed by a couple sitting on a wooden bench, the girl wearing a shirt with a 'HIS -->' print, and the guy wearing a shirt with a '<-- HERS'. It looks corny and sappy, but for me, I think it's sweet and cute. Not all guys can swallow their pride to just wear couple shirts. But I salute this guy.

And of course, the guy who's hand is on mine.

I looked up to him. "Is it just me or everyone's shirts are almost similar to everyone's?"

He flicked my nose. "You're not checking the calendar, aren't you?"

I looked at him curiously. "What do you mean?"

"What date is it today, hmm?"

I calculated in my mind. "March 17..." I mumbled. He must've heard it because he nodded at me.

"And...? What's up with the seventeenth of March?"

He sighed and pulled me in a side hug so that we could still walk. "Today's the couple shirts' day, right? Remember last two years, during our sophomore year, when that Regina girl announced her love for that nerd George Watkins at March 17 and also declared the day as Statement and Couple Shirts' Day?"

My eyes twinkle in enlightenment. "Oh, right! I remember that!"

We continued walking down the halls, but then I just realized that we're headed to the cafeteria.

He's going to eat? Again?! Ugh. This guy has some appetite.

"Nikki!" Trish lunged herself and hugged me. Good thing she pulled away quickly. That hug made me breathless... Literally.

"Hey, Trish. What's up with you guys all hyper and in the zone, huh?" I said as I sit down. Everyone's here. Trish, Phia, Bailey, Justin, and Kyle--well, except for Kaitlyn and Adam. Not that I expect them to be here.

"Nothing. Prom vibes, I guess." Phia said

"Definitely!" Bailey screeched.

"Ugh, enough with the exaggerated hyperness, B. You sound like a baby seal." I rolled my eyes at her. She just ignored me, flipped her hair, and said, "An adorable one, in my matter."

"Good morning, everyone. May I request all the junior and senior students to kindly proceed to their respective areas where they are addressed to. Dance rehearsal starts in five. Again, may I request all the junior and senior students to kindly proceed to their respective areas where they are addressed to. Dance rehearsal starts in five. Thank you and have a good day." The raspy intercom system announced.

"Well, should we go ahead now?" Trev asked, extending his hand out. I looked at it and nodded, placing my hand on it.

"Here you go, pig." Trev tossed me a bottled water. I opened the bottle cap and chugged it down in five. Then I let out a small burp.

"Thanks, Trev." He just laughed at me.

We've only been rehearsing for two hours but I'm tired as hell already, and I can see that I'm not the only one. Trish had gone to the clinic with Bailey to get some meds for her headache, Phia and Justin went straight to the radio room, probably to open the air-conditioning unit to blast, Kyle ran off to somewhere, yelling that he needs ice, and Trev and I are here, chugging down gallons of water, in front of one of the air-conditioning units here inside the practice hall. The others are doing the same, too, while some took the chance to check out the new ice cream parlor just across the street named Polar. We would've gone there, too. But because we were only given twenty minutes to take a break, and even if it's enough time, the parlor would be swarming with customers, specifically our schoolmates, and I don't wanna risk it.

"Times like this are when I thank humans for creating bottled waters, even if they have chemicals and stuff." Trev said as he crushed the bottle with his foot. He picked it up from the floor and tossed it to the trash bin but he hit Ryan instead, who gave him the finger. I laughed off my head at that.

"Geez, dude. I didn't do that in purpose." He said, but he's slightly grinning as he said it. Ryan just walked away with his friends, and when they're out of earshot, we burst out laughing.

"That was some smooth move, Dutchman. I never thought that you're this cool." I chuckled at my own words

"I'm more than just a pretty face, girl." He gave me a wink that made me roll my eyes a few times.

"Suck up, dude. Don't make my head boil when the temperature's boiling hot."

"As much as I want to suck, I'm not a vampire, and I know I look like Edward, but..." He grinned when he saw me glaring daggers at him. "Kidding!"

"F*ck, dammit! Jesus!" He yelled as he crouched over, his right hand gripping his left arm tightly while hissing a string of curses. He snuck a glance up at me and when he saw how big my smile is, he glared at me.

"Are you nuts?!"

"You wouldn't be feeling that pain if you did try to be a little modest and honest, you know?" He straightened up and sat beside me again. I gave him by bottled water, but he just looked at it. I rolled my eyes before pushing the bottle to his arm that I twisted. He immediately flinched at the contact.

"Whoa, whoa, hold up. What are you doing?"

"I'm helping you. You won't accept the bottle so I figured I'll do it myself then."

He looked at me like I have two heads. "And... What would I get from a bottled water being pressed against my arm?"

I almost rolled my eyes again, but good thing I pulled myself together. "It's cold, dimwit. Press it on your arm for it to numb. That way, you won't feel much pain as before."

He looked away while trying to gather all my words and piecing them together, and when he did, his eyes twinkled, the same way it twinkle like before. "I never thought of that!"

"Don't get too amazed. People might think that I'm taking a lunatic guy to prom."

After a few minutes of goofing around with Trev, the others arrived, big smiles plastered on their faces. I wonder what happened. They all seemed pretty pissed when they walked out of the hall, but now, it's the complete opposite.

"Hey, guys. Here, we bought you some fro-yo." Bailey gave me the small white paper bag she's holding. Inside, there are two cups with the logo of Polar, which is a polar cub eating fro-yo. It's so cute. Maybe I'll keep this cup at home.

"I thought you and Trish went to the clinic? How come you guys are all together?" Trev piped in. I took out the two cups from the paper bag, along with the tissue paper and plastic spoons included.

"We waited for them. Then Kyle here suddenly appeared, so we thought of going." Phia explained as she took a sip from her Sprite in can

"We just thought of buying you some because I know how much you guys want to spend time with each other." Bailey screeched

"Yeah, so damn much." I said with no complete interest, rolling my eyes. I opened the lid of my cup and scooped up and brought it to my lips, only realizing that familiar sweet and sour taste--blueberries.

"Yaay! I got me some bananas and... What's this, raisins?" Trev said as his face crumpled as he tried figuring out the taste of what's inside his mouth.

"Peaches, Trev." Kyle said, rolling his eyes. "Nikki's have raspberries and blueberries."

Trev snapped to me, his brows wiggling, as if he knows what I'm thinking.

Damn right, he knows. He always knows.

"She has some love for blueberries. Even rejected my call the other day just because she's currently eating blueberry pancakes at that time." Trev said, shaking his head, while eating his fro-yo. Ugh. Here we go again.

God, help me.

"Poor Trev. Rejected because of a damn blueberry." Bailey said with a sympathetic smile on her face. The what--they're actually buying this guy's story?

"Minus ten points for Dutchman, whew." Justin said and let out a low whistle. Trev continued playing along and put up with biggest and saddest frown.

"I almost cried that day, but she called me an hour after that and asked me if I would like to go with her to the local park. I agreed, of course, but when we got there, there's a new shake stand there, and when she saw a huge sign that says, " BLUEBERRY SHAKES FOR $2", she took off without saying anything, so I just stayed where I am and waited for her. Later that day, after three hours, I saw her walking towards me, holding two large cups. She gave me one and sat beside me. I sipped from it, and the taste is disgusting!"

"I spit it out and asked her the flavor. Imagine my surprise when she said, "That's peanut butter and honey. Mine was the last one under the category of fruits." So I asked her what flavor she got and she said..."

"Blueberry, duhh." Phia said

"Exactly."

"Shut up."

"THOMPSON!"

Our heads all snapped up to the one who called my name. I recognize her as Sarah? Maybe. She's a junior.

"Hey, Sarah. What's up?" I said as I stood up. She looked between Trev and I, and that made me more curious.

"Gather around everyone. But you have to come with me, Thompson."

"W-Why? What's wrong, Sarah? What happened?"

She's biting her nails and her knees are shaking. She nervously looked at me. The words that left her mouth made me stiffen.

"There's a bomb. And it's going off in five minutes."

So sorry for not updating for almost a week! Our field demonstration is already finished and it was fun!

Anyways, I might re-edit this chappy. I don't know. Maybe change how this chappy ends or what. I don't even like this chapter, ohmygod. But please tell me if you guys do :)

One more thing...

MY BABE FRANCISCO LACHOWSKI WILL BE THE ACTOR PORTRAYING TREVOR! :D

Yep, you read it right. That guy's a hottie, and he looks like a bad boy, but he really is not, which is what I want Trev to look like and he's perfect! XD

Anyways, I will be doing a spin-off of Promposal (yehey!), and I will discuss the details further on the last chappy so yeah :)

Vote, comment, sure, recommendddddd!

Wattys!

Sincerely yours,

Nicholle
