Promposal XII

"Let's build a sandcastle, Ikki! There!" She pointed at a spot under the coconut tree.

"Come, Lyn!" I offered her my hand and she took it and intertwined our hands as we happily walk on the sand.~

"Are you okay?" I asked her as I saw her walk out of her art class sniffing, a piece of tissue sticking inside her nose. She pulled it out and sniffed again.

"My classmates are bullying me because my dad's not here. But he will be, and I told them. They said he will never come back. But mommy said he will." She elaborated. I placed a hand on her shoulder and hugged her.

"Don't mind them. Come on, my mom's here. She's going to buy us some ice cream." She grinned as she heard me say 'ice cream'. She loves ice cream. A lot.~

"Ouch!"

"Nik, are you okay?"

I shook my head and pointed at my finger. "A big ant bit my finger, and it hurts. What should I do?"

She took my hand and examined my finger and then suddenly, softly massaged it using her pointing finger. "Better?"

I nodded at her. She excused herself and went back with a cup of water. "What's the water for?"

She dipped my finger on the water. Then I noticed that it's cold. Freezing cold. "Mom did this to me too when I was bit by a spider. It hurt but when she dipped it, I felt numb because of the cold water."

I smiled at her. "Thanks, Kait."~

"Nikki!"

She ran to my side while I massage my head. I didn't see the volleyball coming to me and it hit my head and I fall backwards, losing my balance. She checked my knees, thighs, and arms for injuries but there's none.

"I-I'm fine, Kaitlyn. Maybe I just need to rest for a bit." I said as I stood up. She helped me walk to the bleachers and help me sit.

"Here. Drink some." She tossed me a bottled water and I opened it. "Thanks."

"No problem." She smiled

"Thompson..."

We both looked at her, the girl who spiked the ball that hit me. Kaitlyn looked at her with wrath and fury, and I quickly grabbed her arm, but I was too late. She launched herself to the girl and pulled her hair.

"You bitch! You sluttish bitch!" She yelled as she attacked. Some of our batchamates are already trying to stop the fight bit it's no use. Kaitlyn may be a quiet one, but once you rattled her off, she'll break loose and she can't be stopped. She's a fighter, I sometimes call her an Amazon. She does karate so that's a plus, too.

"Please! Stop!"

"Kaitlyn, stop! You're hurting her!"

Marc, our class valedictorian, successfully pulled Kaitlyn away from the poor girl, while his friend is the one who pulled the girl away. She has scratches on her face, her hair's sticking out everywhere, her arms are the color of scarlet, and she looks scared.

"You aimed it to her direction, right?! You did!"

"Kait..."

"You intended to do that, right? Smack her in the face with the ball? Come on! I'm not blind! I was just beside you when Mae set the ball to you and you spiked it directly to her."

"Say it, Folton. Say it." Kait said, dripping with venom.

"K-Kait's right. I-I'm sorry, Thompson."~

"Nikki? Hey, are you okay?"

That's when my tears started spilling out. Like waterfalls. Like rain. It won't stop.

I don't want it to stop. The blur it causes is a good thing. That way, I can't see anything.

"Hey, hey. Look at me. Pig, come on, look at me." I felt his hands on my tear-stained cheeks. He wiped my tears away, and what I saw next melted my heart.

Trev looked at me with worry and concern filling his eyes. He grasped my face gently, as if anytime soon, I'll break.

I looked back at the two, and to my surprise, they're walking towards us. Shoot. Oh my God. What should I do?

I frantically wiped my tears away and looked at Trev. "Trev, kiss me."

His eyes widened. "W-What?! What are you saying?"

I looped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer. His Adam's apple bobbed up. "Kiss me. Now. Trev, kiss me."

He looked at my back, maybe to check if someone's there, and when his eyes widened again, he quickly kissed me. Caught in surprise, I still managed to keep up. Our lips moved in sync, his hands all over me. It feels great. It's awesome.

Everything is perfect. But the timing's wrong.

Suddenly, I noticed the car windows turn black, suddenly shutting down everything around us, including Adam and Kaitlyn.

Even with the window shutters, we didn't stop. I moaned against his lips when he softly bit my lower lip. I straddled him and continued kissing him, but he pulled away.

"Do you like me?" That got me. I awkwardly went back to my seat and fixed myself.

"O-Of course, Trev. I-I like you." I said as I finally composed myself. He grinned at me and gave me a quick kiss. His lips are so soft and sweet, it's like gummy.

"But you love him, right?"

I stared at him, unable to speak. Love? It's too early to say that. But why can't I answer him? Is he right? Have I fallen for him already? Despite everything that's happening? Did my heart successfully made its way to his, even though everything's a clutter? A mess?

"I'll take that as a yes." He grinned at me.

"B-But, how about you? I-I like you, Trev. I really do." I reached for his hand. He gave it to me and I gave him a squeeze.

"I like you, too, pig. Let's just say that I like you in the sense that I love being around you, hanging out and playing with you. Don't get me wrong, you're a great woman. But let's be honest here. Me? Trevor Dutchman? I'm just your boyfriend. Adam? He's your soul mate, the one destined for you. You get what I mean?" I shook my head at him. He laughed and pinched my nose

"Let's just put it this way. Imagine Adam as a blueberry." That made me snort.

"Yeah, a blueberry. Nice comparison." He just glared at me before continuing.

"Let's just say that you love blueberries. Very much. And if you added blueberries to a cheesecake, then it'll become a blueberry cheesecake, right?" I nodded in response.

"Have you eaten a blueberry cheesecake before?" I nodded.

"When you first tasted a blueberry cheesecake, what is the main reason why you agreed to eat that?" He asked. I'm getting more confused every second but I still answered his question.

"Because I love blueberries, so like, "why not try the blueberry cheesecake?"?" I answered

"But when you tasted it already, did you like it because there are blueberries on it?"

I shook my head. "No. I liked it because it's delicious on its own."

He grinned at me. "Now that's what I'm talking about."

I looked at him with curiosity. "What?"

He leaned back to his seat, his face laced with pride. "Back to what I'm saying, then. Let's compare Adam and a blueberry. You love blueberries, and I can say the same with Adam. At first you loved blueberries because of their taste, right?" I nodded again. Guess I'll be in the nodding mode, then.

"And at first, you also liked Adam because of his looks, right? Now, woman! Don't give me that look." He hissed when I glared at him. I bit my lip before nodding.

"You loved blueberries, and blueberries alone. But when you tasted a blueberry cheesecake, you loved it, too, right? Not because it has blueberries, but because of the taste of it itself."

"Now we connect it to Adam. You like Adam, and when you two started seeing each other more often, you started discovering things about him. Now tell me, when you have known Adam much more, now, can you say it to my face that you like Adam because of his good looks? And not his personality or traits?"

"You liked him for his looks, but you loved him for his personality. The real him. That's where we differ, pig."

"I know you like me, and I like you, too. But we both know that we like each other because we connect, and we're compatible in many ways. But you and Adam, you guys are like water and fire. You guys may be total opposites, but you guys make each other stronger. And you guys are like soy sauce and vinegar. Perfect together."

Speechless, I just leaned forward and hugged him firmly. He huged me back, too, and then suddenly, I laughed. He pulled away and gave me a look.

"Why are you laughing, pig? You thinking of some 'fun' things to do, huh?" He wiggled his brows at me. Hay, Trev. Always the pervert one.

"In your dreams, Trev."

"Okay. I'll dream of you then. That way, Adam won't know anything about it." He winked at me. Ugh! Male hormones everywhere!

"Shut up, big." I grinned at him.

He returned the grin. "Never, pig."

A knock on the window startled the both of us. I straightened up and fixed myself again, wiping my cheeks with a tissue paper. "He's there. He saw us.", I thought.

Trev glanced back at me and I nodded. I leaned back on my seat and puffed out, trying to relax my nerves a little.

With a push of a button, the shutters started disappearing, layer by layer. The sight of Adam and Kaitlyn beside each other made my blood boil. It's enough to make my blood boil.

No--scratch that. It's TOO MUCH to make my blood boil.

"Adam." Trev greeted as he lowered down his window, the warm air from the outside pulling me back to reality. I glanced at Kaitlyn, who has a guilty look plastered on her face. Good. At least she's guilty, that lying, sneaky, backstabber bitch.

"Trevor."

"Fancy seeing you here, you two. You guys out on a date?" Trev asked. When the last sentence spilled out from his mouth, I put my poker face on. My mask.

"U-Uh, no. We just grabbed a bite before the rehearsal." Adam glanced at me as he answered. I can't help but feel relieved and annoyed. Relieved that they're not on a date, and annoyed that maybe they're lying. That they just don't want us to know about their relationship. Their goddamn relationship.

"How about you guys?" Kaitlyn asked

Without further ado, Trev faced me and placed a quick kiss on my lips, and it made me smile. Smile because of the gesture and because the look on Adam's face is priceless.

"Yeah, we are. She slept with me last night. We also decided to take a quick bite before going to school." He continued as he faced them again

"W-Wait. Did you say, s-she slept with... Y-You?" Kaitlyn asked, her mouth hanging open. Kaitlyn's look reflects Adam's, too.

"Yeah, she did. But let's not talk about that anymore. Would you guys want a lift to school?"

I secretly grabbed Trev's hand and pinched it. In my mind, I'm currently imagining that I'm cutting his head off with a bread knife, pouring vodka on his open wound.

"We appreciate your offer, dude. But we drove here using my car so..." Adam said, trailing off

"No, no, it's okay. Trev, let's just go now. We still have to buy you a tie that matches the color of my gown, right?" I piped in. Trev nodded at me and gave Adam a salute.

"Laters, dude."

When we're in a safe distance of 200 meters, that's when we burst out laughing.

It is indeed revenge at its sweetest.

NiVor! NiVor! NiVor! NiVor! :D

Did you guys expect Trev to give Nikki an advice? And not a senseless one, in that matter? Anyone who's mind is not disarray would fall for a guy like that ❤v❤

Not much to say for this chappy, but I just want you guys to know that I'm going to start another story, a short story! Yayy! :)

My last day of exams will be on Monday, but my schedule would still be the same, hectic and busy, but I'll try to write as often as I can so that I can finally publish the first chappy! ;)

Anyways, I decided to drop out of the #OpeningLineContest. I didn't meet the deadline because it's due last Friday, July 17 and I still haven't finished mine so yeah, too bad. :(

But there's still #Wattys2015! Please help me fulfill one of my dreams! And thank you all for your support!

Love you with all my heart,

Nicholle
