|| Third Person's POV ||

The morning started rather odd for Frisk. She occasionally glances by the window or by the TV for minutes without any word and Sans seemed to take notice.

The girl's mind was set not on reality but was set on some place else.

After that memory that she claims, her mind wandered deeply within. Momentarily asking herself several questions, trying to remember something other than the memory.

It turned out really disturbing in her case.

Sure it was starting to drive her nuts but she was determined and desperate.

Desperate to fill in the missing pieces of her unsolved puzzle.

Determined to solve it by herself.

"coffee?" Sans offered, holding out a mug before her.

Frisk eagerly took one and stared at her reflection on the hot beverage. She saw the dream replaying back in the cup like a small television. This time, it was less entertaining to watch. She shifted uneasily from her seat.

'So many unanswered questions.....where do I even start...'

Closing her eyes for a moment, she decided to brush it away for awhile with an exasperated sigh.

"Didn't know you like coffee." She tried to sound amused but it faltered badly.

Sans nearly jumped, not expecting her to talk but he kept a small smile as he plopped down the couch beside her.

"heh, its not only the kind of remedy to keep ya distracted. It kinda wakes me up from bad dreams too." Sans replied, face hardening after spilling the last lines.

Frisk pitied him for a moment, understanding his situation. She never thought that he'd relate to her too.

Not that she wanted to but it felt good having someone to share your problems with, even the slightest similarities would find a way to tug someone's lips in a small smile.

It may be nice but she reminded herself not to spill more beans because she might end up blankly telling him about her nightmare a few days ago.

That maniacal laughter.....her glinting red eyes...screechy voice...

It was clearly etched in her mind. She shivered by the mere thought of I it.

And...

And his father...Gaster...

Should I tell him?

or not....?

The topic about his deceased father's warning might drive things even more complicated than it already is.

And that psychotic girl would be a bad idea to talk about.

What more could happen if she told him about her memories yesterday?
That might be a tad bit of information but it was also hard to grasp.

Even if she was desperate, she would never want anyone to be in her shoes, worrying for her.

"so, 'mind breaking the ice of yesterday's events?" He asked in a serious tone. She slightly paled.

Her fingers were fidgety. "uhm..w-what..?"

She gulped, hoping that Sans would wave it off but he knew better.

"the memory you saw, what was it about?" He asked with a hint of demand in his voice.

She knew that he was just concerned and worried that's why he was asking but she never wanted him to feel that way.

She simply doesn't want herself to add up to his burdens. She should be the least of his worries so she lied.

"Nothing, I figured that it isn't really important to talk
about just this morning."

He gave her a doubtful look and she felt her heart rise up to her throat. It only took her a moment to realize that she really was one bad liar.

"look kid, you don't have to distance yourself from me. alright? If there's something that bothers you, ya gotta tell me everything. I'm no stranger to you anymore. Have you already forgotten? 'cheesy talks makes a stickier relationship'. If you uh..wanted to keep it that way..."

He began scratching the back of his head awkwardly, nearly tipping the mug he held on his other hand but his stern look remained, otherwise.

Frisk's grip of the mug tensed for a moment after hearing him address her as a kid again it made her heart leap for a moment there. But she kept her cool, mentally reminding herself not to break her unknowing facade.

"Thanks but I really have-

"if its a problem then i'm all ears. We'll get through this together." His face was stern as he stared at her straight in the eye with his hands on her shoulders.

Frisk was startled, glancing at her mug that he accidentally spoiled on the carpet. She used it as a distraction to avoid his gaze but his stare was starting to make her melt with unease.

With a deep breath, she talked about the recent dream- her encounter with a stranger.

"I had this...dream about me trying to stand up for my sister from a group of bastards. I....guess my words were defenseless to them so...they never hesitated to threaten and kick me around. I ran into the woods, desperate to drive them away until... someone, a guy, pulled me from behind to save me. Most of it was oddly fuzzy but I know they were familiar." She kept her gaze unsteady by glancing from her shaking hands to him when she talked.

After Sans processed her words, his gaze softened. A tint of blue dusted his cheeks as he slipped his touch away from her shoulders when he began to notice her unsettling movements.

Frisk calmed down for a bit after that and waited, anticipating for any violent reaction from her listener.

"b-blurry...? how so?"

She bit her lip and took a quick glance at his now tensed face.

'Why does he look....

Bothered..?'

Her words tumbled out when he noticed her occasional glances.

"I don't really have any clues about it because all of their faces are faded like an aged photo. The background was quite hazy too." She thought hard again, trying to relive those scenes but they really were just a blur in her mind.

"did you recognize the guy...?" His expression contorted in a blink. A mix of confusion and doubt.

Frisk hesitated for a moment, thinking if she can find a way to reel back out of the conversation.

On second thought, she brushed it away when she met his void black sockets staring back at her.

It was starting to creep her, so she dared not to spill any lies.

Not much though...

"Not a chance....he was also dressed oddly. Covered mostly."

Sans sighed, his white pinpricks popping back in place. She heard him mutter something but it was barely audible, her hammering rush of adrenaline masked the words, she was even petrified to ask him about it.

It was hard not to dwell back into her memories and dreams. Her mind was spinning with unanswered questions.

She heaved another deep breath and she started to give in and let her thoughts fall out.

A friend...

Old friend..

Her sister...

Sister..

"I can't even believe I have a sister..."
Was all she said at first, blankly staring on the coffee stained carpet.

"but where could she be now....?" Her eyes wandered out of the frosted window from the opposite wall.

Her lips began to quiver and her head felt heavier than it's supposed to be. She was trembling.

That's when she started gritting her teeth while her nails dug an inch deep on the cushions of the couch.

She was a flurry of emotions- sad, angry, confused and annoyed. All the memories she had are subconsciously making her feel all these emotions. It's as if all these events are making her feel.

And she felt lost again.

Sans was keeping a close watch to her as she began unfurling her words.

His gaze held a mix of sympathy and fear.

"Heck I don't even know where she is! She might be lost..a-and...afraid...or...w-w-worse..."

She was falling apart as she clutched her head tightly, leaving tangles of brown hair looped in each of her fingers.

Sans slowly caressed her back with a pitiful look on his face.

"I wanted to gain my memories back but these are all I have. Its useless......I need more answers..." She broke into tears. Absentmindedly leaning to Sans for comfort as she buried half of her face into his jacket.

"don't worry, it'll come eventually. Now may not be the time for answers but waiting is the least we can do." He softly whispered as he held her close.

Frisk continued to whimper and sob, hate building up for herself.

"I c-couldn't do anything right...I...can't even..r-remember...her....." Sans' pained expression wavered, his fingers finding its way to the side of her teared face.

"you don't have to push yourself, Frisk. We will help you." She quited for a little, her sobs turning into hiccups as she stared into him.

"me and P'yrus....We'll get your memories back sooner." He flashed a genuine smile, his hands leaving her face.

"i may not be the type of person to promise but... heh, I might make an exemption for once or twice." He chuckled to himself, shrugging his shoulders for emphasis.

Frisk was about to say something, but her throat had gone dry for words. She was astounded.

His cheeky smile bloomed its way into her heart, its warmth spreading like wildfire.

It was odd but she melted into that feeling, never wanting to let go.

"so chee-rry up, frisk. its gonna be al-"

She put her arms warmly about him, tackling him into a hug. His eye sockets widened in surprise.

His phalanges were trembling when she buried her face, near the crook of his neck.

"thank you." Was all she whispered.

Sans was caught in a daze when his breathing hitched, his cheekbones dusting mere tints of blue.

She started to giggle, tears of joy overflowing.

"It means so much to me." And she smiled, wiping her tears in a fast manner.

"nah, no bones about it."

They laughed together with that remark, replacing the solemn atmosphere of the house in a lighter mood.

"Ah...guess I just have no-body to be cheese talking with." She grinned, her forlorn appearance slipping away.

"you're such an interesting pal, Frisk." he ruffled her hair.

A sudden shriek of annoyance wailed from upstairs.

"SAAANS! YOU BETTER NOT BE INFLUENCING THE HUMAN THIS EARLY IN THE MORNING!!!" His shrill voice muffled behind the door of his room, shielding his piercing call.

"awww cmon bro, where's the fun in that? She already has it in her."

Sans gestured a wink at her as Frisk cleared her throat before casually saying.

"I hope it doesn't bother you that I'm already (bone) this way." Laughing fits roared from the two, almost forgetting that Papyrus was just leaning on the rails of the stairs.

"GAAAAAAAH! AREN'T ANY OF YOU TIRED OF INCESSANT PUN USE?!" He was sputtering angrily at the two. His stomps grew louder when he descended downstairs.

"never would and never will." They both said in unison. It was unexpected but they found themselves smiling at it.

Thump! Thump!

There was it again. Her heart was racing like a runner in a marathon when they shared a glance.

'This is unusual..... yet it feels nice

Am I...

Her eyes wandered freely at the brotherly conversation the two are having, only, It was settled on Sans.

Drawn into him...?'

Abruptly shaking her head and telling herself that the feeling was absurd, she waved it off her head.

Papyrus groaned in defeat, his brother seeming to win the argument they were having awhile ago.

"FINE, BUT AT LEAST TAKE THESE SKATES ON." He brandished two pair of old skates before them, earning a confused look from the two.

"Skates? Why?" Her brows furrowed, ever so slightly.

Papyrus face lightened up from her question as he donned a red bonnet on his skull, saying.

"SINCE THE PARTY WAS POSTPONED, UNDYNE AND ALPHYS INVITED US TO GO SKATING WITH THEM INSTEAD!" He was opening the door for them, awaiting their response but none seemed up for the idea.

"i think I'll pass. sides, i think Frisk has a thing or two about meeting Alph and Undyne." His expression was tense, almost hissing each word.

Sans was right, for Frisk it is. She grew nervous when she heard two unfamiliar names waiting for them out there to personally meet her.

Although she heard good things about Undyne, she could feel her body shivering whenever she heard the name and it also happened for the first mention of Alphys.

She grew more and more anxious to meet new people after meeting that sadistic flower.

But at the same time, she doesn't want to disappoint someone as kind hearted and nice as Papyrus.

She was conflicted whether to go or not.

Deep inside, her voices of reason clouded her choice of actions.

It wouldn't harm to meet new people, right?

Papyrus smile was bright and he was beaming. Who wouldn't want to say no to someone like him?

"Its fine, I would love to go skating!" She grinned, almost knocking herself off the couch as she clambered beside Papyrus.

Seeing nothing but snow yelled nothing but boredom to her. It would be such a shame to pass this opportunity since Frisk loved the idea of going outside.

"EXCELLENT!! I PROMISE THAT YOU WOULD NEVER REGRET ACCEPTING THE INVITATION, HUMAN!! UNDYNE AND ALPHYS ARE VERY WELCOMING, I ASSURE YOU THAT!!"
He exclaimed, patting Frisk's head as she looked warmly up to him.

The shorter skeleton just shrugged, avoiding the sudden change of plans.

"You'll come with us right, Sans?" Frisk piped in curiously.

She never wanted to leave him alone while they're having fun. Of course for Sans, the idea of skating isn't listed in his fun log.

Slacking off basically yells everything about his appearance. Frisk can't blame him though, she aches for comfortable clothes too with the chilly weather that awaits them outside.

She laughed internally, finding the oddity of comfortable winter clothes and him being literally a numskull.

"OF COURSE HE WILL!! RIGHT, BROTHER?" Papyrus wondered.

"nah, this ol' bones isn't cracking for some sport like skating." He waved his hand away, gesturing them to go ahead.

It just infuriated his brother with that.

"FOR THE LOVE OF ASGORE! COME ON! YOU ARE JUST MERELY MAKING AN EXCUSE FOR YOUR LAZINESS!! THAT I CANNOT ALLOW!!"

"Or, he doesn't know how to skate." Frisk absentmindedly whispered, till then she realised she was smirking.

"pushing your luck, aren't cha?" he taunted, matching her smirk.

She knew where this is heading, and it amused her.

"Just admit it Sans. Maybe....prove that you can do it? but I bet you can't....since your afraid to be humiliated by a girl." She rolled her eyes and shrugged flatly.

"heh, that we'll see." He immediately challenged as Frisk threw a childish raspberry at him.

"GREAT! NOW LET'S GET GOING!"

Papyrus disappeared in a flash, leaving the two by the open doorway. Frisk chuckled at his enthusiasm and wrapped the scarf-she got from tori- twice than she used to around her small figure.

It was three times longer compared to her height so she didn't worry about being caught up in suffocating situations.

"ya don't have to pull a stunt like that to convince me to come ya know." Sans said with half lidded eyes, chuckling to himself as he reached for his pair of skates.

" So you're coming because you're.... worried?" Frisk snorted, taking her skating needs.

Sans was baffled lightly.

"of whom? you?"

"So you do care." She grinned, giving him a mischievous glance.

Mere tints of blue has risen from his cheekbones ever so slightly, and he scoffed.

"even if I did, I'll still prove you wrong."

"Hahaha yeah, by me teaching you how to do it right." With that, she pulled him out into the snow, startling him as he stumbled from his first step.

She giggled happily while he started whining and muttering complaints of annoyance to her sudden change of actions.
