Chapter-25
**Seven Promises**

Swara's POV:

It's been two days since his confession and he has remained true to his words. He even asked Kavita to leave the house and never contact him again. He has been showering me with love and care. Although we haven't been intimate yet, we do kiss a lot. I don't know why I forgave Sanskar but I guess it's because of my mother. She passed away when I was six years old but I still remember what she had taught me. She had taught me about love,forgiveness,life and many things.

"You can never deal fire with fire. If you see fire in front of you ,then become water," her words are still clear in my mind.

While I was lost in my thoughts, I felt someone shake my shoulders.

"Hey sister," It was Kabir.

"Hi Kabir,"suddenly I was embraced in a tight hug.

"He is glaring right?" Kabir asked me while hugging me more tightly.

I was confused about what he was saying. I looked up to see Sanskar looking at us with his teeth gritted.

Okay! Now I got it.

"Yes," I replied to Kabir with a huge smile.

"I missed you so much love. Only God knows how I had spent three days without you," Kabir said while kissing the side of my hairs.

"Why do you tease him so much?" I whispered near him.

"It's my favourite thing to do. I really enjoy teasing your husband,"he said while showing his teeth.

"If you don't want me to break your bones, then remove your hands from my wife's shoulder,"Sanskar said while coming closer to us.

"Don't you trust your wife?" Kabir was mocking Sanskar.

"I do trust my wife but I don't trust you," Sanskar said, removing Kabir's hands from my shoulders and kissing my forehead.

"Okay love, I am hungry. Please give me something to eat," Kabir said while walking towards the dining table.

"Don't you dare call her love," Sanskar glared at Kabir.

"Swara do you have any problem with me calling you love?" Kabir asked me.

I looked at both of them. Sanskar was looking at me with an angry expression like he was ordering me to say yes to Kabir. And Kabir was pleading with me to play along with him. So I decided to team up with Kabir this time.

"No", my eyes were on Sanskar. Kabir immediately jumped in happiness.

"I'll deal with you later," Sanskar said while walking towards his... no, our room.

Yes, he shifted to my room. The room I was living in was his, so he shifted back here.

"Congrats, Swara. I am so happy for you both," Kabir said with a genuine smile on his face.

I know he worries for Sanskar. Kabir is the best ever friend Sanskar could have had. Even Sanskar acknowledges this fact. Even if they both fight throughout the day, they patch up and become best brothers at the end of the day. I really admire their bond.

Kabir helped me in getting the dishes from the kitchen to the dining table. We even talked a while about his crush. Apparently, he has a crush on a girl and he is afraid to ask her out.

Damn this man! He behaves so maturely with others but when it comes to his life, he becomes a child.

Sanskar came down after changing and we three had our dinner together while Kabir occasionally teased Sanskar and Sanskar mostly glared at us both. After dinner, I washed the dishes and they both were discussing something related to their business. After washing the dishes, I came to the table to see Kabir getting up and leaving.

"Okay bye love. Good night. Take care," Kabir kissed my forehead and left.

Sanskar also went back to our bedroom. Now, it was my turn to go back to the bedroom. But I was scared. I don't know why but my heart was beating very loudly. My heartbeat started to rise. It's not that I am afraid of Sanskar, it's.... even I don't know why I am scared.

Okay, Swara, you can do this.

I kept my hands on the door for support when suddenly the door opened, and I fell down, and my leg hit the floor lightly.

"Shit," Sanskar cursed and lifted me up and placed me on the bed.

It's hurting...

"Why were you leaning on the door?" He asked but did not wait for my response and ran out of the room.

Thank God. He did not wait for me to respond; otherwise, what would I have said to him?

Within a few seconds, he came rushing with an ice pack and placed it on my legs. I hissed due to the sudden coldness I felt and held his hands tightly.

"So, what were you doing at the door?" His eyes were still on my leg.

"I was just coming inside," I lied.

Thank God he was looking at my legs, not my eyes, otherwise, he would have known that I was lying.

"You are such a child," he said with a smile.

"You are such a child," I mimicked him.

"So... what was all that about"? He asked. Now he was looking into my eyes.

"What?" I asked.

"Don't act innocent, jaani. You know what I am talking about," he said.

My heart skipped a beat when he called me jaani again.

"You know that Kabir is like my brother. He was just messing around with you," I said honestly.

"I know that idiot was doing this to tease me, but I can't tolerate anyone near you," he said, looking into my eyes.

"I'm your wife and I'll never cheat on you. Never," I said hugging him.

"And he told me one more thing," I whispered near his ears.

"What?" He asked while we were still hugging each other.

"He told me your nickname.... chikoo", I freed myself and ran to the door.

But he caught me and pulled me from my waist and my back landed on his hard chest.

"Let me show you what will chikoo do with you now jaani," he said while kissing the nape of my neck.

Every cell in my body was dancing and suddenly, I felt my heart beating very fast.

"Do you know that your face calms me," he murmured against my ear, his lips brushing against my shell.

"I have something to say. I know when we married, the marriage meant nothing to either of us. But now this marriage means everything to me. During marriage, couples take seven vows and today I want to make seven promises to you, my dear wife," he said while making me face him.

"I promise you that no matter how hard it is, I'll always fight for us," he kissed my right eye.

"I promise you that I'll always love you and no one else. You gave me a feeling that no other women were able to. Just by looking at you makes me feel alive," he kissed my nose.

The sincerity in his words was unmistakable. I know Sanskar was telling the truth, causing my heart to combust with joy.

"I promise you that I'll never leave you. If you are not in my life,then I have no reason to live. I can't function without you," he kissed my right cheek.

"I promise you that I'll try to change and be a better person for you. I'll give you all the happiness that you deserve. I'll treat you like a queen," he kissed my left cheek.

Every time Sanskar kissed me, I felt like my world had stopped on its axis. I lost track of everything except the feeling of his lips on me. There were no words to describe the joy my heart was aching to burst with. It was just him and his kisses in my mind, in my body, and in my soul.

"I promise you that I'll show you what Chikoo can do with you...alone," he kissed my forehead. I just laughed and stared at him with love in my eyes.

He then kissed my lips. Our lips moved in perfect rhythm before he parted my lips with his tongue. He pulled me closer to him, and my hands slid into his neck.

"With this, we've sealed our promise," he said after we broke our kiss.
