Chapter-17
**Officially Mine**
Swara's POV:
I woke up to the sound of the alarm clock. I got up rubbing my eyes. I looked around and I could see that the room was a double one, in which I earlier used to stay. That room had many bitter memories which changed my life. Shrugging off my thoughts, I decided to take a shower and get changed.
I came out of the washroom in a towel as I had forgotten to take my clothes. I decided to wear a simple blue kurta and black leggings. I untied my wet hair and wiped it with a towel. I combed my hair once before stepping out of the room.
I came out of the room. While I was passing through the next room in which he was sleeping, I had an urge to look inside it. I slightly opened the door and peeked in to have a look. All I could see was an empty bed; Sanskar was not inside. I peeked in further but there was nobody.
Hence, I came down the stairs to the kitchen. I opened the fridge to see if there was anything I could have. I took the bottle of milk from the fridge. I was making tea when Sanskar came towards me. He was only in his track pants, his torso completely naked. His body was covered in sweat.
He came near me and stood there.
"Good morning, Mrs.Maheswari," he said.
I just stared at him, too angry to say a word. I didn't even want to shout at him. He left me alone last night and then he was wishing me good morning?
Such a man of double standards!
"Make tea for me too," he said.
"Why will I make it for you? Am I your servant? Make it by yourself," I said with an attitude. He deserved that.
"You are my wife. It's obvious that I will tell you to make tea for me. It's your duty to please your husband. Don't forget that you are officially mine," he said, coming close to me.
"Why? Doesn't your Kavita know how to make tea?" I asked him.
"I know you are jealous," his lips twitched slightly.
"I am not jealous," I pushed him.
I turned off the gas. I poured the tea into a cup and strode out of the kitchen.
"If you are not jealous, then why were you peeking in my room?" his words made me stop.
Shit! He saw me doing that! I was in big trouble.

Swara was sitting alone in his, no, her room for the last three hours, holding a book. She was just holding the book but not reading it.
There comes a time when you feel trapped. There is no way to run. Swara was in such a trap. She wanted to run but couldn't. She was trapped in her new life for her whole life. She was now tied to him for an eternity. It was so unacceptable for her.
Her eyes roamed out of the window watching the birds.
She suddenly heard whispers outside the bedroom. The voices were of a man and a woman. Swara immediately recognised that it was Sanskar's.
"The woman's voice must be of Kavita's," she thought.
In the next moment, the voices stopped and the door opened. Swara immediately looked back at her book.
She heard the door open and someone was walking in. Not having the courage, Swara didn't look up. She kept on looking at the book, pretending to read it. His footsteps were getting closer. She gulped in nervousness. She knew he was staring at her.
"Where is my watch?" Sanskar asked.
Swara pretended as if she was engrossed in reading the book, unaware of his presence.
"Swara, I know you are not reading it. So, stop pretending and tell me where my watch is. I have to go out and it's important," he said.
"I don't know," she said, still looking at the book.
"Search it for me," he ordered.
"Why will I search it for you?" she asked.
"Because you are my wife," he said calmly.
"Have you lost your mind? After all you have done to me, you expect me to be a sincere wife?" she shouted.
''Sanskar," Kavita walked in.
Seeing Kavita, Swara's anger rose up.
"Baby! Come quickly or else we will be late," Kavita said.
"So, this is his important work," Swara said to herself.
"I am not getting my watch," Sanskar said while looking at Swara.
"Don't worry. I will search it for you," Kavita said, walking towards the cupboard. She opened the drawer and took out the watch from there.
"Here it is," Kavita made him wear the watch.
"Thanks," Sanskar said, kissing her cheeks still, his eyes were on Swara.
"Wow, Kavita. You both are so similar. You are just the type of wife he wants. Why don't you both marry one another? I bet you both will make a great couple," Swara said angrily.
Kavita's eyes shone thinking about that.
"Kavita, can you please wait in the car? I am just coming in 2 minutes," Sanskar said to Kavita.
Sanskar led Swara into a corner of the room making sure she was his prisoner, with his hands on either side of her shoulders and turned her around to face him.
"Sans.. kar.. What are you doing?" Swara almost choked as Sanskar slid his hands from her shoulders to her neck and flicked her ears lightly with his thumbs. Swara closed her eyes as he brought his face close to her, wondering if he was going to kiss her. Her heartbeat peaked and she felt a tingling sensation all over her body in anticipation of a close encounter.
"Why did you just say that?" Sanskar asked her, looking deeply into her eyes, a serious expression on his face.
"Say what?" Swara asked, looking down.
"You really want me to marry Kavita after divorcing you?" he asked.
"Go. Your Kavita is waiting for you," she said, trying to push him.
"Answer me, dammit," his hold got tighter on her.
"Yes," she said, looking into his eyes.
Sanskar left her and walked out of the house.

Next morning, Swara entered the kitchen to make coffee for herself when she noticed Sanskar sitting at the dining table, doing something on his laptop. She made coffee for him and placed it on the table before him.
"Coffee," she said.
Sanskar was doing his best to ignore her presence, forcing his eyes to look at the laptop screen. He was virtually at war with himself and tried his best to stay away from her, but she was like a magnet pulling him to her. He was determined to keep his mind away from her. But he couldn't help lifting his head up and looking at her when she placed the coffee in front of him.
Sanskar got up and threw the coffee in the sink. He walked back to the gas and started preparing coffee for himself.
Swara was standing there, looking at him with tears in her eyes. While pouring the hot coffee, it fell on his hands, leaving a burn mark.
"Your hand... it's burnt..." Swara took hold of his hands to examine the injury but he jerked his hand away. "Stop. Why are you so stubborn?" Swara said.
Swara held his hands again carefully and this time he didn't jerk. Swara dragged him to the washbasin and let the cold water run on his hand. He kept looking at her without saying a word. She rushed to the room and brought the first aid kit with her. She applied ointment on the burn mark while Sanskar's hand went to her face and he placed the strand of her hair which was falling on her face behind her ears.
Soo done with another chapter. How's it? What do you think will happen next? I have no idea.
