"I'm starving!" Natsu complained as he threw his head down on the table.
"Me too, all I can think about it is some yummy fish." I could basically see the drool falling out of Happy's mouth. For some odd reason, these two were always hungry.

"What did you do with all of the money we made from our last job?" I asked as I ate a bite of my sandwich.
"Ask Happy," Natsu groaned as he gave Happy a dirty look. I tilted my head and looked at Happy.
"I spent it all on fish," Happy said as he let out a guilty laugh. I sighed and gave them both a disappointed look.

"I spent the last of my money on rent," I said as I looked down at the floor. "All I could afford was this sandwich."

As soon as I said sandwich, Natsu jumped across the booth. He put his arm around me and sat really close to me. I could feel my cheeks starting to blush. "W-What are you doing?" I turned to look at him, and our eyes met. I don't know if it's Natsu's fire power, but I was hot. I really hope he didn't notice the sweat forming on my forehead.

These moments have been occurring more often than usual. Natsu and I have been best friends since day one, but this feeling isn't normal.

"Can I have a bite of your sandwich?" Natsu's eyes were shifting between me and the sandwich. His comment snapped me out of my haze, and I let out another sigh.
"Fine," I said as I handed him the sandwich. I ducked under his arm and stood up from the booth.

"I guess that means we're going to have to take another job." I said looking at Happy and Natsu fight over a measly turkey sandwich. They probably didn't even hear my request. I let out a small laugh and started to walk away from them. "I'll meet you here tomorrow morning," I yelled back at them. I could still hear their bickering across the guild hall.

I approached Mira, Wendy, and Carla near the bar.

"Hey guys," I said in a cheery voice.
"Oh hey Lucy!" Wendy said with a smile. She was always so happy, it was like nothing could bring her down. I had always envied her for that quality.

"Why is your face red Lucy?" Mira asked as she put her elbows on the table. She put her head in her hands and leaned towards me. "Did Natsu make you blush?" I could feel my face getting even more hot.
"W-What?" I stuttered pathetically. Mira, Wendy, and Carla all let out a laugh. I shook my head and focused on the task at hand.

"Would you want to go on another job with the team tomorrow?" I asked Wendy politely.
"Sure! I love a good adventure," she giggled and jumped from her seat. "I'll go ask Erza if she wants to come along too!" She instantly sprinted to the other side of the guild hall.

Wendy was so cute and innocent, I really did see her as my little sister. Mira and I shared a look of amusement.
"All right, now I have to go convince Gray, see you later Mira!"

I turned and ran towards Gray and Juvia. They had been spending a lot of time together recently. They are water and ice, it would make sense that they got along.

"Gray, you wanna go on a job tomorrow?" I asked as I approached them. Juvia was giving me a cold stare.
"How dare you invite Gray on a job, is this a date? Romantic rival!" Juvia leaned in really close. She thought every girl was competing for Gray's heart. Gray put a hand on her shoulder, and she instantly backed away from me.

"Calm down Juvia," she gave him an innocent smile. He smiled back at her and turned to me. "I'd love to go on a job with the team tomorrow." I nodded and looked at Juvia.
"You're always welcome to come as well."
"Wherever my darling Gray goes, I shall follow." I laughed and turned away from them.

"See you guys tomorrow," I waved to them and left. I headed towards the doors of the guild hall. I looked at all of my friends. This is where I belonged, and I wasn't ever going to leave.
