Dawn POV

After arriving at Pallet Town, I walk towards Ash's house. I hope he is here. The Unova League was over just a few days ago. Knowing Ash, he would visit home before starting another Journey. If he is not home then I have to ask Mr. Ketchum where he is traveling right now.

As I was about to knock on the door to Ash's house but stopped because the door is locked. Then I decided to go to Professor Oak's lab.

After arriving at the Professor's lab, I knock on the door. Finally Professor Oak opens the door.

"Uh, Hey! Welcome! Dawn." Professor Oak said.

"Thanks, Professor," I said and entered the lab.

I also noticed all of Ash's Pokemon are not here.

"Professor, where are Ash and Ms. Ketchum?" I questioned.

"Ash and Delia moved to the Kalos Region," Professor said.

"Whaaaaat!" I yelled.

"They just moved yesterday," Professor said.

"It's decided, I am going to Kalos Region to travel with Ash. "

"Well, I will tell you the truth..." Professor starts, "Ash is not traveling in Kalos but he is attending the Kalos Academy,"

"Kalos Academy?"

"Yes, it is the most prestigious school in the Kalos region,"

"Professor, can you tell me more about the school?" I asked curiously.

"Yeah, there are many trainers across the world who come to study at this school. Kalos Academy helps students to learn more about Pokemon battles, contests, performances, and much more. Which helps you to improve your skills as a coordinator," Professor explains.

"Pokemon Contest... I have no idea what to do next since I lost at the grand festival but looks like this school is a great opportunity for me."

"I've decided!" Dawn announced. "I also want to attend Kalos Academy.

"Yeah, that's an excellent choice. If you want to register now, I will be happy to help."

"Alright! Thanks, Professor."

"It will take a few minutes," The professor said as he walked to the desk.

"But first I need to call my mom," I said.

"Alright, the phone is right there," Professor points towards the phone booth.

I run towards the phone and call my mom. I explained my decision to mom and she seems happy about it.

"That's great! I am okay with whatever you choose. I am sure you will do the right decision. But... I have a question though." Mom said with a small smile.

"What is it?"

"But why? All of a sudden you decided to attend the school which is in the Kalos Region. Why not enroll in schools here in Sinnoh?"

"Well, after I lost at the Grand Festival, I decided to visit Ash to see what he is up to. But when I arrived at Pallet Town then Professor Oak told me that Ash and his mom moved to the Kalos region and Ash will be attending the Kalos Academy. That's why I decided to go to school I thought this would be a nice change of scenery for me."

Johanna giggled, "Okay, I understand. You decided to attend school because Ash is going to the same school."

"Maybe yes..." Dawn muttered before continuing. "But the main reason I want to go to school is so that I can improve my skills as a coordinator."

"I know... I am just teasing you. But I think going to this school will be a great opportunity for you,"

"That's right."

"And one more thing, be careful," Mom said.

"Mom, no need to worry,"

"That's when I worry the most." Mom smiled.

"Alright, mom bye." I smiled back and cut the phone.

"Your registration is complete." Professor Oak said.

"That's great! Professor Oak!" I yelled.

"I also found a place for you to stay, here take it," Professor Oak said as he handed the piece of paper to me.

"After arriving at the airport, you need to give this address to the taxi driver and they will take you there."

"Wait a minute! Do you know where Ash lives in Kalos?" I asked because I wanted to meet Ash.

"You will find out when you arrive at that address." Professor Oak chuckled.

"Okay..." I said but I was unsure. But I am sure I will meet him in school. "Thanks, Professor," I yelled and rushed outside of the lab.

"I can't wait to see Ash again."

Time skip

"Hey look! Piplup we are here in Kalos!"
I exclaimed as I looked outside of the window.

It was amazing, with blue waters and clear skies. And in the distance, I can see what I presumed to be Lumiose City.

While the plane descended into Lumiose City, Dawn had been completely blown away by what she could see out the window. In some ways, it was like many of the large cities she had seen throughout her travels, but what set this one apart was Prism Tower. It had immediately drawn the coordinator's attention.

"Attention, everyone!" The Announcer spoke through the speakers, "We are about to and in Lumiose City. Thank you and have a nice day!" After the announcement, the plane descended into Lumiose Airport and all the passengers made their way out of the plane.

"Lumiose City is beautiful!" she shouted while walking down the steps out of the plane with Piplup in her arms.

After collecting her luggage, Dawn walked outside the airport.

"Wow, it's much bigger," I said, looking around Lumiose City.

"Piplup!"

"Looks like it is one of my best decisions to come to Kalos, after all. It's worth it."

Ash POV

Ash was sitting peacefully with Pikachu beside him, in the living room, watching TV.

"I'm bored. School is gonna start tomorrow. Now, what to do today?"
Ash thought.

Suddenly there is a loud knock on the door.

"Ash, honey can you open the door?" Mom yelled from the kitchen.

"Yes, mom," I said as I slowly walked to the front door.

As I opened the door I was shocked to see the person standing in front of me. I can't believe it.

"Gary, What are you doing here?" I widened my eyes.

"Ashy- boy nice to meet you," Gary greets.

"Hey! don't call me that," I hate him. He is so annoying. But what he is doing here?

"You need to get used to it, after all, I will be staying here from now on. " Gary smiled.

"What?"

I am about to say something but mom cut me off.

"Welcome! Gary, nice to see you, come in." Mom said.

Ash is too shocked to move, with the thought of Gary staying here.

"Ash, it's rude to keep your guests waiting." My mom scolded me.

I moved aside to let Gary enter the house.

"Ms. Ketchum, good to see you, and thank you for letting me stay here," Gary said politely.

He is gonna stay here?

"Nice to meet you too Gary. And you can call me Delia. I already cleaned your room and it is upstairs to the left side of the 2nd room." Delia said.

"Thanks," Gary said and he starts to walk upstairs.

"Uh... Mom, what's going on?" I asked.

Mom turns towards me, "Sorry, Ash I forgot to tell you that Gary is staying here because he will be attending the same school. So he will be staying here for a while."

"What! Gary is staying here and also going to school." I yelled.

"Oh, one more thing." Mom said in a nervous tone.

"What? don't tell me that one more person is coming to stay here," I raised my eyebrows.

"Yeah, you are right. But you will be happy to see her." Delia said.

"Who is she?" I questioned.

"Someone you know, it's going to be a surprise," Delia winked and walked towards the kitchen.

"Looks like this year is full of surprises, right buddy?" I mutter and continue watching TV.

"Pika," nods his head.

"Someone, I know, wonders who she is?"

"How are you, Ashy-boy."

I sighed.

"I'm fine and will you stop calling me Ashy-boy."

"Nope not gonna do it," Gary said as he crossed his arms

"Does he ever stop calling me by that name? I need to think of a nickname for him too."

"So, Gary, what brings you here?"

"I came to Kalos to research the Mega evolution. And Gramps insisted that I should go to the Kalos Academy. This would also benefit me a lot since Kalos is famous for mega-evolution. This will be a great help in my mega-evolution research." Gary said as he sat on the couch. "This will help to learn more about Pokemon researchers."

"Since you are staying here and going to the same school you have to stop calling me Ashy-boy."

"Why, Ashy-boy?"

"If you call me Ashy-boy at school then I will tell Pikachu to use thunderbolt on you."

"Pika!" Pikachu sparkling his cheeks.

"Okay, I understand, Ashy... I mean Ash."

"That's good."

Dawn POV

I then got into a taxi along with Piplup and my luggage and showed the driver the address that Professor Oak gave to me. The taxi headed to Vaniville Town.

After one hour of driving, the Taxi arrived at Vaniville Town, the atmosphere was calm. There is a tree on the side of each house so the area looks nice.

The taxi stopped in front of the house, then I exited the taxi, paid the fare, and made my way to the house with my luggage.

I knocked on the door, and after a few seconds the door was opened by someone and I widened my eyes.

"Welcome! Dawn." Delia welcomes me.

"Ms. Ketchum is your house, what a surprise hehe...." I said while laughing.

Delia smiled, "Nice to meet you,"

"Nice to meet you too." Dawn greets.

"Come inside." Delia walked into the home and I slowly enters.

"Professor Oak called me earlier and said that you want to attend the Kalos Academy. Since our home is so big compared to Pallet Town, we had two extra rooms along with a guest room. When the Professor asked me about that, I told him that I would be glad if you stayed here. And you are great friends of Ash. So, welcome home." Delia said with a smile.

"Mime Mime." Mr. Mime cheered happily.

"Hi, Mr.Mime "

"Mime!"

"Thanks, Ms. Ketchum," I smiled and looked around to find Ash. "Where is Ash?" I asked.

"He is in the backyard with his Pokemon," Delia said.

"That's awesome!" I shouted excitedly and ran towards the backyard.

I run into the backyard and see all Ash's Pokemon running around and playing. Ash is standing there with Pikachu.

As I walk towards them but Pikachu suddenly turns around and sees me.

I motioned Pikachu to keep silent.

Pikachu nods his head.

I slowly moved towards Ash and kept my hand in his eyes.

"Who?" I ask.

"Dawn!" Ash said as turned around.

"Hey, Nice to see you again, Ash!" I smiled happily.

"Nice to see you again too" Ash smiled back and gave me a high-five.

"Wow! Ashy- boy has a girlfriend before me." I hear someone said

I turned around to see the person who said that.

"What are you talking about?" Ash asked in confusion.

I sighed, he is dense.

"Yeah, I know. Place change, region change but still the same Ashy- boy." Gary mocked.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Ash grimaced.

But Gary just ignored him and instead turn to me with a smile.

"Nice to meet you, Dawn."

"Nice to meet you too. But what are you doing here?" I decided to change the subject.

"I guess, Ash didn't tell you that, I am staying here and I am also gonna attend Kalos Academy," Gary said.

"What, it is true," I ask, turning towards Ash.

Maybe he is joking but Ash nods his head.

"Pika!" Pikachu jumped into my arm and I petted his head.

"Come on Kids come inside. Dinner is ready." Delia yelled.

Gary immediately runs inside the house.

"We should get going too," Ash said with a small smile.

"Right." I nod.

Ash and Pikachu quickly ran inside the house and I decided to walk inside as well.

Time skip

After dinner

"After I visited Unova. I went back to Kanto to collect the remaining two ribbons. I took part in the Indigo Grand Festival. I made it to the finale but I wasn't able to win there."

"It's okay, you will win next time. I am sure of it." Ash said with a small smile.

"Wow, thanks, Ash."

"But don't get me wrong, why are you here then?" Ash asked.

"Wait! I didn't tell you why I am here?"

"Nope," Ash shook his head.

"Well, after my contest I decided to visit you. But when I went there I saw your house is locked, then I went to Professor Oak's lab. Then he told me that you and your mom moved to the Kalos region and you are gonna attend the school. So I decided to go to school to consider this will help me improve my skills as a coordinator."

"You decided to attend because I am going to the school."

"Yup."

"That's awesome! We are gonna attend the same school. I thought that I am going to school and the only person I know is that annoying Gary. Now, I won't be alone in this school since you are here," Ash said as he looked at me with a smile.

"Sure!" I agree.

"This is gonna be so much fun and we will be achieving our dream together."

"Right." My face turned red as I looked at the night sky to see the sparkling stars.

This is the best day of my life, it was depressing at first that I wasn't able to win the Grand Festival but it went from worst to best.

Third Person POV

"Tomorrow you have the first day of school. I want all of you to wake up at 6.30 am. Because school starts at 8. am. So, don't forget to put the alarm on your clock. Because you don't wanna be late for your first day."

Everyone agrees.

"Especially you Ash, you have the habit of throwing away your clock. I want you to wake up at 6.30 sharp."

"What, when did I throw the clock?"

"All the time."

"Pika!"

"Alright, mom. I will try to wake up at 6.30 am.

"Okay."

After saying good night to each other, they went to their bedroom.

"Tomorrow is the first day of school. This is gonna be exciting. But I hope we will meet again." Ash thought.

Next morning

Serena POV

"Serena! wake up," Mom yelled

I woke up to the shouts of my mom and decided to lie down a bit. But Fletching came flying into the room and sat on my bed.

"Fletch!" Fletching says.

"Hey, I am already awake," I smiled.

So, you are wondering why I woke up so early because I am excited to go to school. It's the first day of school after summer vacation.

I walked towards the desk and took out my textbooks, notebooks, and all the tools and put them in my backpack.

I can't wait to start this year of school. I hope this year will be exciting. I love to make friends and meet new people and Pokemon. I looked at the watch and it was 6.30

I walked towards the bathroom. I quickly brush my teeth and take a shower then change into my clothes.

I took out my new clothes which I was saving for the first day of school. It's pink which is my favorite color.

I grab my backpack and walk downstairs.

"So, mom, how do I look?" I asked.

"You look beautiful. Just like an angel." Mom replied as she put my breakfast on the table.

I sat down at the dining table and started eating my breakfast.

After finishing breakfast, I said goodbye to my mom.

"Eevee!" I said and jumped in my arms.

I open the door and find out that Calem is standing there.

"Good morning," I smiled.

"Good morning, Serena." Calem smiled.

I have known Calem since I moved here to Kalos. He is my neighbor.

As we started to walk towards the bus stop I gave a last look at the house across the street in the hope to see him but I wasn't able to see him. Guess I have to wait for tonight to meet him.

"What are you looking at?"

"Uh... it's nothing," I shake my head.
"Let's just go. I don't wanna be late on our first day."

On the way, we met up with our friends Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor.

They were talking about the new students and they can't wait to meet them. They Are from Kanto. I wonder if Ash will be one student.

"I can't wait to see their pokemon and take photos," Trevor shouted with a sparkle in his eyes.

"Right! Shauna, if they are nice people we can become friends with them."

"We will find out in the class," I said as I walked towards them.

Tierno smiles and nods his head, "I can't wait to meet them."

"Who cares about them?" Calem muttered.

I just shook my head, "Don't be rude Calem. They are gonna be our classmates this year. At least we need to know about them."

"I am only interested in battling them."
Calem said.

"Yeah, you are right. Since you are our school champion you will get the chance to battle one of them." Trevor said.

"Yes, I can't wait to battle. If they are strong trainers then the battle will be fun." Calem said.

We finally arrive at the bus stop and I see my best friend May Maple standing there with her boyfriend Drew. They are the coordinators from Hoenn.

"Those two look cute together."I thought.

"Serena! Nice to see you," May said as she turned and noticed me. She immediately ran towards me.

"Nice to see you too," I smiled and we hugged each other.

After I broke the hug I asked, "How was your summer break?"

"Great!" May shouted excitedly and started telling me about her vacation. She told me how many places she travel to and enjoy her vacation.

"Wow, your vacation went well."

"You should come with me next time," May said with a small.

I nod, "Yeah, sure."

"Hi, Serena, Good morning."

"Good morning, Drew."

A few seconds later, the bus finally arrives and we quickly enter the bus.
I took a seat beside May. After that, we talked about clothes and fashion.

The bus ride took 10 minutes to arrive at our destination, Kalos Academy which is in Lumiose City. We got off the bus and walked towards the school gate. We said goodbye to each other and I walked towards my classroom. I have different lessons.

As I walk toward my classroom. I started thinking about Ash, I can't wait to meet him tonight.

But I was so lost in my thoughts about Ash that I bumped into someone and fell.

"Hey, are you alright?" Someone said.
