Part 31
"Are you sure of this, Chaahat?" Ishitha asked, once again.
Ever since overhearing that conversation in the college, Chaahat has been behaving a bit more cold than usual. There is a determination in her eyes. As if she had set her mind on something.
"Yes" Chaahat said, as she got ready for the party.
"At least tell me what you are planning to do?" Ishitha asked in exasperation.
Chaahat simply shot a vague smile in her direction, instead of responding to the question.
"Sometimes, you are so damn infuriating. Do you know that?" Ishitha asked, glaring at a neutral faced Chaahat.
"I find it difficult to open up to people, Ishu. It's not that I am arrogant or pricey. I just am not used to it. In fact, you are the very first friend I ever made in my life." Chaahat said softly and Ishitha sighed.
"Why? What has happened in your life to make you so?" Ishitha asked softly.
"I will tell you one day, Ishu. A day when I will feel secure enough in any relationship to share my life, I will open up" Chaahat said and Ishitha understood that there must be something Chaahat is ashamed to share about.
"I understand. I just want you to know that I will always be there for you" Ishitha said and Chaahat smiled in gratitude.
"Thank you"
"I still don't understand why you want to attend the party. After knowing his intention, you should have slapped him in front of the whole college and walked away, instead of attending his bloody party" Ishitha said angrily.
"That's not my style, Ishu," Chaahat said.
"Honestly? I don't know what your style is." Ishitha said with a sigh.

VERMA FARMHOUSE
"Do you think she will come?" Alex asked Rishi, who was still staring at the entrance.
"She will," Rishi said stubbornly.
"I don't think so," Ajay said, hoping like hell that she wouldn't come. Probably he should tell her about the bet. Rishi would be angry with him. But whatever Rishi is doing is wrong. And he can't stand by and watch it anymore.
Ajay decided to tell Chaahat the truth, the very next day.
Ahana smirked, hearing all that. She had made sure that Chaahat was around when she initiated that conversation with her friends. The sole purpose is that Chaahat will back away from Rishi and thus Rishi will lose the bet. Then he will have to marry her. Rishi Verma never goes back on his word.
What prompted her to let the matter slip to Chaahat is the shine she saw in Rishi's eyes whenever Chaahat was around.
Whether he admits it or not, Rishi is truly getting snared by Chaahat. And she can't have that. So, before he is fully smitten by that low class girl, she has to do something.
And much to her shock, Chaahat Bhatra walked in, with her friend Ishitha. This was something she had not expected.
Knowing how silent Chaahat is, she had expected Chaahat to silently move out of Rishi's life.
"There she is.." Rishi said excitedly, as he jumped up from his seat and rushed towards Chaahat.
"Chaahat. I was wondering if you would come or not.." Rishi said happily, as his eyes ran around her gorgeous face.
However badly she dresses, nothing can disguise the beauty she is.
"It's impolite to reject invitations, Rishi," Chaahat said with a smile.
Did she just smile at me? Rishi wondered in disbelief. For the past few weeks, he had been following her around almost all the time. And never once had she smiled at him like this.
And what a smile it was...
"Uh, please come in." Rishi guided Chaahat and Ishitha towards his friends.
The farmhouse was packed with students. Almost all the batches were invited. And the farmhouse was large enough to accommodate these many people.
Rishi's phone rang and groaned seeing the name on the caller ID. He disconnected the call. But the call kept coming again and again and with a curse, he moved a bit away from his friends and attended the call.
"What do you want?" He snarled as soon as he picked up the call.
"Rishi, momma had arranged a family dinner tonight. Where are you? You were informed about it right?"
"I have a college party," Rishi said.
"But you told me it is on Sunday. Then only momma arranged the dinner on Saturday night" The person on the other side said angrily.
"Last minute change of plans" Rishi said casually.
"God, Rishi. You could at least have informed us. Leave the party and come home." The other person said angrily.
"You are momma's golden boy. You attend the family dinner. I am the bad boy. It is okay to skip dinner" Rishi said and hung up the call, without waiting for his brother's response and then switched his cellphone off.
The party went ahead with much fun and games. Chaahat and Ishitha stayed with Rishi and his friends.
"Chaahat, I am getting scared. What do you have in mind? Break me out of this curiosity, please" Ishitha begged, at the end of her wits.
"Okay.." Chaahat said and stood up from her seat.
Ishitha waited with bated breath, wanting to see Chaahat blast the hell out of The Rishi Verma.
Chaahat walked towards Mithran and held him arms, much to his shock.
"Rishi, I want to say something to you" Chaahat said and Rishi raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"Yes, tell me" Rishi said and Alex, expecting a proposal scene, gathered as many people as he can, around Rishi and Chaahat.
"I love you" Chaahat said, much to everyone's shock.
Ishitha was staring at Chaahat in disbelief. Ahaana felt as if all her plans went down the drain.
"What?" Rishi asked in disbelief. He hadn't expected it to happen so quickly.
"I love you," Chaahat repeated her words and Rishi, who came back to his senses, laughed out loud, happy at having won the challenge.
"Chaahat Bhatra? In love with The Rishi Verma? Not surprising." Rishi said with a taunting laugh.
Chaahat remained silent.
"What? I just threw a few charming smiles and sweet words at you and you thought I am in love with you?" Rishi asked sarcastically.
"Enough Rishi" Ajay held his hand and hissed angrily.
"Sorry, Ms Chaahat Bhatra. Rishi Verma is not someone easy to be caught. You were just a challenge for me. Anyways, it was fun" Rishi said with a laugh and walked away from there.
"Come, let's go" Ishitha held Chaahat's arms and she walked out without resisting.
