Homework

{NATSU'S POV}
I don't know what I did, but I'm glad I did it. Lucy's and my relationship has never been better, or at least what I remember of it. I still haven't gotten the courage to attempt asking her again.

Honestly, I kinda don't want to. What if it ruins our friendship? I don't want that. In fact, I like I'd like to try being more, but Lucy probably wouldn't want that and I'm not sure how to ask.

I guess asking this girl things is my weak point.

It's time for math class, which is right after science class. Lucy and I part waves with a promise to meet up afterward and go to her house to finish our science homework.

I'm in this class with the Strauss siblings. The teacher, Laxus, whom everyone calls by his first name because he's pretty young, is collecting our assignment. Laxus is a pretty lax teacher (no pun intended). He gives us the notes for the day.

All his lessons are videos, so we watch them and fill in the notes, then the rest of the time is for homework. I have thirty minutes left before the end of class. Math is my specialty after all.

Lisanna tries to snuggle up to me, and copy my work. I brush her off, telling her to watch the video again if she doesn't get it.

"You've never said no before." Lisanna pouts as she goes back to her seat, where her big brother Elfman tries desperately to appease her.

I realize Lisanna's right. I never particularly liked Lisanna getting so close to me, but I never flat out refused her before either. That all changed when Lucy came. Now, Lisanna's approaches gross me out more than anything.

Then my phone buzzes. I read it and grin, my fingers already moving to respond.

Ah. I forgot, Lucy's in art class right now. Mr. Lasaro is notorious for standing in front of the chalkboard, never sure of what to write. His class is viewed by students as a study hall.

Curious, I look at the eldest Strauss, across the room from me and her siblings. She's also finished her work early, just like an honor student, and seems to be propping her head on her hand boredly, but...

Lucy doesn't respond, know matter how much I spam her. Tch. I'll grill her while we're doing our homework at her house.

School can't end fast enough. Lucy and I meet by her locker, which is closer to the car rider doors.

"You ready?" I ask, to which she nods.

We walk out the doors together, and Lucy's car is waiting right at the entrance. The goat suit guy is sitting in the drivers seat.

"This is Mr. Capricorn." Lucy introduces me. That name sounds vaguely familiar. Has she mentioned him in school before?

"Nice to meet you. I'm—"

"I know who you are." Mr. Capricorn interrupts. Lucy must have told him beforehand. I look at her, but she only shrugs.

The drive to Lucy's house is quiet. When we get there, I find it's not a house at all, but a mansion. My mouth drops open.

I spin to face Lucy. "Rich girl alert!"

"Oh shush." Lucy rolls her eyes.

A bunch of maids form a tunnel, all welcoming and bowing to Lucy. She interacts kindly with them, treating them as friends rather than servants. At the end of the tunnel are two pink haired women, also in maid uniforms.

"Welcome back Hime and Natsu. Since Natsu doesn't know me, I'll introduce myself. I'm the head maid, Virgo. Will you punish me?" Virgo asks, bowing. Masochist, much?

"I'm Aries." The other girl bows hurriedly as well. "It's nice to see you ag—ouch! Nice to meet you! Virgo, why'd you do that?" Aries rubs her side where Virgo elbowed her.

"Your punishment for almost spilling the beans." Virgo glares at her, and Aries trembles under her gaze. Maybe it's my imagination, but the latter appears to have horns.

Yeah, definitely my imagination.

Virgo and Aries lead us to Lucy's room. I feel myself blushing, standing awkwardly outside her door. "Is this really okay?"

"Why not?" Lucy looks over her shoulder at me, opening her door.

"But I'm a guy!" I protest.

"Are you going to rape me?" She challenges.

I immediately shake my head no rapidly, my blush darkening. "Of course not!

"Then it's fine." Lucy reasons, dragging me inside her room and shutting the door. Virgo brings me a chair, and we sit at a desk in Lucy's room and complete our homework. With both of our brains combined, it doesn't take long at all.

"Done!" Lucy slams her pencil on the desk victoriously and stretches. Unfortunately for me, this involves reaching up with both her arms and her chest naturally pops out.

As if my thoughts weren't muddled enough with two people sharing a desk meant for one, with our legs touching and me being close enough to smell Lucy's strawberry cheesecake shampoo.

"Done!" I yelp, immediately pushing away from the desk as fast as I can.

"So, what now?" Lucy asks. I check my watch. 6:40. I promised Wendy I'd be home by 8:00, so I still have some time to kill.

I blurt the first thing that comes to mind. "Wanna play a game?"

Lucy's eyes light up. "Oh, can we? I love Uno!"

And so we end up playing Uno together. We decide at the beginning (much to our chagrin later) to mix two decks together, so the game goes on forever. It finally ends when I play the last card in my hand, a wild swap hands card.

Then we argue about who actually won, because I say that I won since I played the card, but she says that she won since we switched hands, therefore I have the twenty cards in her hand and she the zero in mine. We agree to call it a draw.

"Crap!" I gasp, after checking the time. "It's 9:30!"

Lucy helps me pack up real quick, and sends me off with Mr. Capricorn. He drives like a maniac, scaring the bejeezus out of some little old ladies walking on the sidewalk and getting to my house in ten minutes flat, even though it'd probably take half an hour going the speed limit.

By the time we get to my house, I'm shocked I'm not dead. Literally as soon as I hop out, Mr. Capricorn peels off, and I'm not even sure if my door was properly shut.

All the lights are on. That's not a good sign. I poke my head inside, only to be faced by my cross armed, frowning father.

"You're late."

That Uno situation actually happened with me and my friend. We're still arguing over who won. Teehee 😜
