"happy two year anniversary, lec!" evan cheered, jumping up and down as alec had an amused smile.

"happy two years," alec said back.

"doesn't feel like i've known you for two years, feels like forever," evan said putting extra emphasising on forever.

"i mean, we've been meeting up every day for two years. of course, it's gonna feel like forever" alec joked chuckling at the antics of his best friend.

"last year, we barely did anything to celebrate our anniversary," alec said.

"of course. we were second graders. what were me supposed to do?" evan deadpanned

"i wanna show you something this year" alec said "trust me, you're never going to regret it"

"why do i feel like you're just going to murder me, now?" evan giggled at his own joke and it made alecs heart flutter. "and we're still third graders. what can we do?"

"something." alec chuckled once again. "now, come on"

alec held evans hand, dragging him. evans face heated up but this went unnoticed by the red-head

"where are we going?" evan asked after going through several turns and pushing off bushes and branches.

"it's a secret," alec said "any way we're almost there anyway"

after a couple more turns alec stopped abruptly and in turn, evan ran into his back.

"what gives?" evan asked slightly annoyed but it turned into confusion as alec just smiled.

"close your eyes," alec said suddenly.

"wha-what?" evan asked back at his abrupt statement.

"just do it" alec said slightly amused at the scene.

in the end, evan closed his eyes with alec using his hands to close the said closed eyes. saying that he 'doesn't trust him to fully close his eyed'.

"i feel like your just gonna lead me to a cliff and push me" evan joked

alec rolled his eyes yet he smiled.

after walking for a minute they stopped.

"on a count of three. one, two, three" alec said before revealing the location.

it was a beautiful hill. the grass was bright and soft. flowers littered the hill. the beautiful shades of blue covered the skies. leaves also covered the grass, whether their in the brink of withering or they recently fell. the giant tree giving the grass a dark shade fill with warmth. the sun shining brightly yet was warm and cold with the breeze of the wind.

evans big doe eyes looked around in awe at the scenery.

"i-" evan couldn't say anything feeling starstruck. alec just had chuckled at his reaction.

"ho-how did you fi-find this place?" evan stuttered over his words.

"i guess i just walked around for a while," alecs said shrugging it off

even tho he knew it wasn't because he was walking around. it was because his daddy got really angry and thought his mommy was cheating on him. even tho it wasn't true, he blamed it on alec for god knows why.

out of fear, in the middle of the night, alec had run away and found the place. he had stayed there 'till the next day on the grass, freezing.

he felt close enough to evan. no, not close enough, he feels connected.

out of knowhere alec asked a question.

"promise, we'll be best friends forever?"

"promise"
